it was right out of town at the back of Vesuvio . got there and loads of secure space to park the motorcycle . the staff was just the best . nothing was to much trouble at all . They looked after me as if I was part of the family . the views across the city was awesome . they are happy to vegetarian food . the pizza from the stone oven was just the best . I will visit again well happy with my stay . thanks for everything

I didn’t like leaving 😎

views are incredible and quite easy to get to Vesuvius hotel organised transfer from Ottaviano station food was very good

the property needs a lot of work, it feels like a refurb is not complete. the pool was closed (which we knew about) but so was the pizzeria and the restaurant timing / staff wasn’t clear. our room wasn’t very clean as we had some balls of hair in the bathroom and the shower was broken but worked

Very nice young lady at the reception, she treated us very well. The view was great.

- once we came to the hotel, older lady at the reception was treating us like we bothered her. She didn't speak English but I totally understand it. The problem was her approach - we felt very bad every time we needed something. When she talked to Italian people the approach was totally different. This should not happen anywhere. - in the description of our room was balcony but we got room without one, just a window with access to some dirty unfinished rooftop. Jacuzzi was just a bath with a few dirty jets.King size bed was just a bed with two separate matraces. TV was a small monitor. I do not want to poke to everything but the room was quite a dissapointment. There is absolutely no soundproofing, so all the time we could hear people walking and talking in the hallway and in the next rooms. - the pool and restaurant that they so grandiously advertise were closed and open only during the weekends, which you really want to find out when you arrive hungry and tired after traveling the whole day. also the last time the pool was cleaned was probably when the pretty pictures for booking were taken. - no taxi service available, so we had to walk up and down to the hotel from the city (its up the hill). But I take it as our mistake as we did not travel with a car or a bike. - we had an unexpected visit from personel at 1:30AM in our room. We woke up to someone UNLOCKING the door, but we had the door locked from the inside. Then the person knocked and left. The explanation was they wanted to check if we are back in the hotel. Sorry but what are the manners trying to get to somebody's room in the middle of the night? They scared the hell out of us. Horrible unacceptable experience.

The location was excellent. We were on the volcano and right between the locations that we wanted to be. It was up a big hill away from the town but that was okay for us as we had a hire car. Plenty of parking.

And that’s as far as the good bits go. This hotel was clearly very nice in its hay day and when the booking.com photos were taken. However, it’s fallen into disrepair. There was a very strong odour of gas/sulphur in the hallways. Our room was supposed to have a view of the volcano but it didn’t unless you walked around onto someone else’s balcony! In the evening the room, despite us not having the doors/windows open, started to become overly occupied with stink bugs 😬 They we’re crawling onto the bed etc. we asked to move rooms and got taken to another room down the smelly hallway that didn’t have the view we booked for but didn’t have any bugs! Apart from one, which we just squished. The second room was fine apart from the horrendous mattress. I had a lot of trouble sleeping. There was no hot water in that second room so we had very cold showers! The breakfast was TERRIBLE - you had to pay extra for hot food. The croissant I had had a vanilla cream in the middle, which I think had gone off. The food looked like it had been sat there for four days. My partner couldn’t eat anything 🤢 Also very strange was that we had to leave our room key with the staff at reception whenever we left the hotel, which felt a bit overbearing. In the morning we left very early and had to unlock the main hotel front door with keys to exit. Just felt very strange. We stayed for two nights ONLY because we are at the end of an epic road trip and we were strapped financially. If we could have moved to another hotel, believe us, we would have.
