The B&B Il Gardino di Eolo is located in a quiet area close to the interesting old village of Pietramelara, which can easily be explored by feet. The owners are very friendly, the room which we had was convenient and clean. The garden is in fact beautiful and an invitation for doing picknick outside. We also enjoyed the small pool in the garden. Very appropriate for a short stay.

What was missing for walkers like us was a drying rack or line for wet clothes. Also, we would have liked real plates at breakfast instead of the plastic ones.

The property backs up onto Monte Maggiore, a beautiful set of marble peaks that act as a back drop for the cultivated gardens kept by the owners. The birds chirp merrily and blend with the sounds of fountains in the yard. Dinner is served in a private dining room and is a bonafide 4-course Italian dinner. Every portion on every plate wonderfully delicious. The hosts themselves are incredibly congenial and generous and treat their guests like a blend of royalty and old friends.

Carmela was a wonderful hostess, very obliging, drove me to the village to buy groceries and, the next day, to the train station, Roberto was also most helpful. A quiet venue a little out of town. Great breakfast. A restful stay.

Great setting , good overnight stop for Bari/Brindisi ferry ports

The room was basic, there were other people's clothes in the cupboards, and no direct access to a fridge which was needed to store medicine. This was in the owner's home below. There were numerous rules, for example no drinking in the room. I also found the owner's wife was very rude when we tried to explain the issue. The owner himself was very polite. The issue itself was not helped as I see on the booking app there was access to cooking facilities, which are not available. So, this is not totally the owners fault. Nevertheless we left and stayed somewhere else. Very disappointed with Booking..
