Pisciotta is a small mountain town overlooking the ocean. It has all of the necessary amenities including cafes and restaurants, and a charming piazza. The Marulivo Hotel is a short walk from the main piazza by steps and alleyway streets. When you arrive at the hotel, you realize what a special place it is. A lovely courtyard with cooling plants and steps to the terrace and bar with a panoramic view of the coastline. Breakfast is an abundant buffet style served on the terrace, using delicious local produce. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, and had a solid feel with a lovely ensuite shower room and a wonderful view of the sea. However, the real treasure of Marulivo Hotel and the two owners, Lea and Massimo. They are both engaging, helpful, knowledgeable and so friendly and made our stay so very enjoyable.

There is ample free parking in the town, but no parking at the hotel itself.

The location is stupendous with the most mesmerising views of a vast sea and sky and little Marina di Pisciotta. It is absolutely serene. The Hotel has been decorated with great taste and style. Having breakfast on the terrace is just magical, I didn't want to move. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and made sure I managed to meet up with the Menacia anchovy producers I'd come to see by coordinating in Italian and arranging local taxis. They are several excellent restaurants close by: one in the village above the hotel: I Tre Gufi and one at Marina di Pisciotta Ristorante Angiolina. Do be aware there are a lot of steps to reach the hotel but someone will be sent to the start of the car-free (unless you're a resident) village to help you.

Very difficult to find fault. A kettle in the room would be good.

Lea and Massimo are natural hosts. They seem to take a sincere interest in making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Pisciotta is a place where you should aim to do nothing except enjoy the beauty of this tiny treasure of a place. If you approach it with an agenda, you are bound to be disappointed. Walk down to the beach (and back up to town, if you are fit enough), hang out on the Marulivo terrace overlooking the sea with a glass of wine, and read a book. Paradise.

The hotel is beautifully arranged and furnished in an amazing position overlooking the sea. The view from the terrace where breakfast and drinks are served is stunning. The rooms are comfortable and full of character.

Unfortunately adverse weather meant we were not able to have breakfast on the terrace one morning. The alternative was a rather cramped room, which did not really match the rest of our fantastic experience of this hotel.

Marulivo is a special place and one of a kind. If you were looking for a place that is off the beaten track and unique, then this is perfect. Very clean and comfortable. Amazing, delicious breakfast with incredible views. The owners are so welcoming and offer. Many suggestions of daily excursions and assistance. Exposure.

Just a warning that there are a lot of steps and I didn't communicate properly when I was arriving as usually there would be someone to help carry luggage through the village.

The hotel was charming and had so much character. The breakfast patio was beautiful as was the breakfast.

Our air conditioning unit wasn’t cooling our room to our liking, but that also had to do with the excessive heat and the building age. It also started making an annoying noise after working for two days. The parking lot was also a bit too tight for our liking.

The hotel is gorgeous and atmospheric, build on different levels that easy are compact and integrated in the natural surroundings. The individual styling of the rooms add to this vibe. I loved staying in the room called Petra. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, ensuring that even in low season you don’t arrive at closed doors in the restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!

The staff and breakfast were amazing. They went out of their way to help us find parking and get our luggage up to the rooms. Beautiful views from the terrace!

It was a lot of stairs since the town is cliffside, but that was not their fault of course.

The property could not be more beautiful and comfortable. The very best hosts, a great location for exploring the town and beaches, and an extensive, delicious breakfast each morning on the terrace with stunning views.
