Lovely balcony, staff was super kind and helpful. Beach is just opposite the street. Great view on sunset. Breakfast options are also nice. Rooms are clean. Renovation is still on going. But the construction on the road and bridge is already finished. They have very nice restaurant with nice and delicious dinner options. I really enjoyed my staying in Hotel Ancora. Thanks a lot for their hospitality and great service.

Staff were lovely, room had lovely balcony and sea view. Decent size pool and an ok beach across the road. Very reasonable price. Free breakfast each morning, light but enough and had a nice Italian touch. Make sure you book the sea view rooms. So stunning and the view made up for all of our issues in the hotel!

Our AC was very poor, one night was completely not working and we were really sweating and had a 6am start (it was 11pm). When trying to call reception, we were hung up on and when someone eventually looked at it around midnight, the only offer was to pack and move to a downgraded room for the rest of our stay. Noisy when balcony door open. Rooms not soundproof at all so didn’t sleep too well. Our first night, some boys were blasting music and yelling but staff did sort it out once we informed them. On two of our days there was no electricity and one day there was no running water, so couldn’t even flush the toilet. Was clearly out of their control. Difficult on our last day lugging suitcases up and down the stairs as the electricity being switched off stopped the lifts too. As well as this there was an annoying alarm going off around the pool area. The hotel suited our needs enough but be aware that it’s probably more of a 3* than 4*. The bathroom was very dated and dreary. There are marks and some slight mould around but still clean. Our shower filled up really quickly (a 5 minute shower flooded our bathroom) so we had to stop and start the shower which was irritating. Beware location is very far from anything and taxis are expensive. We waited half an hour in blistering heat for buses that never showed up (having already bought our tickets) and ended up paying €80 to get into Salerno town and back. On our first day, we arrived very late, around 10pm. On our last day, the flight back was late, so we assumed we would check out and then use the pool and shower around the pool area before our flight. We were told we have to pay €20 to use the pool and also we are not allowed to use the shower. Considering we missed our whole first day this seemed slightly over the top to charge us more just to use the pool. If you are wanting to chill in a non touristy hotel for some sun, beach and pool for a decent price then this was lovely. However, it wasn’t 4* worthy.

Modern bland box of a building. Electrical problems meant we had no air conditioning one night, and the sound of the diesel generator outside our window. Air conditioning was weak and noisy. The place feels unloved and needs some TLC.

Our room 215 was not renovated completely. Around the new balcony doors there was paint missing. Also left side of the balcony doors could be locked but the right side did not even had a lock. Not all electricity sockets were installed. AC did not work. You can see in photos it was just renovated but it did not work. WiFi signal was bad on the one end of the room but on the other side of the room there was no WiFi signal at all... I could go on but I think you got the point. If you do not look at the details the room itself is realy spacious and it had a greeat view. Also breakfast was great and their beach bar is really nice.

Overall this was a lovely place to be for a few days however we experienced some challenges. The receptionist was brilliant. She spoke English (sadly my Italian is very basic and not adequate for anything more than fundamental interactions)and was very efficient and professional. The Room we had (401) was superb in most respects - Ample room, mini fridge, kettle, TV, dressing area, great views, a MASSIVE balcony. It was all clean and comfortable. Dedicated Hotel car parking with easy access is provided adjacent to the hotel with ground floor lift access to the hotel. The pizza choice for dinner was quite good. The Hotel "Bar" has a separate entrance on the left of the building and is more like a café but offered a good choice of beverages. The beach is literally just across the road (which can be quite busy at times) and has a range of other amenities along it's length. It looked like there was a cleaning up operation starting to remove some of the, mainly wooden, debris that had been washed up.

Sadly the shower cabinet was once an all singing and dancing unit with body jets and music however none of hose frills now work and it now only functions as a basic shower shower room looks worn and dated and is totally out of character with the rest of the room. Our food experience was disappointing. Breakfast was laid out buffet style and whilst adequate was not memorable however if you like sweet pastries there was a more varied choice. We appreciated the dinner menu being supplied in English and ordered Veal and a pizza. The waiter appeared to be unsure of out choice despite pointing it out clearly to him. My pizza (which was OK) arrived and it was about 10 minutes or so later that my partner was presented with a fish platter. We returned the fish and were presented with some meat after a further 10 minutes. Sadly this was poorly cooked and tasted off. We were grateful to the receptionist who translated and mediated for us. Despite having a kettle provided in the room there were no cups or anything else provided to make a hot drink with.

staff was kind, the parking was huge and position is fine

the bed was very unconfortable, we asked for 2 single beds and we got a king, the lush was broken as well as the telephone in the room

Sea front position is priceless and room dimension are very good!
