The property is beautifully finished and in a tranquil location just a short drive away from the beach, and approx. 25 minutes from Agrigento. Mara and Domenico are incredibly gracious and attentive hosts as are all of the staff. You will always be greeted with a smile. The room was perfect and cleaned everyday. It is quietly luxurious and homely with everything you need. I had my best night's sleep in years on their amazing beds! I cannot recommend this place enough. If you come to Sicily, you must treat yourselves to a few nights in this stunning property. We came in July - it was perfect!

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the property itself: a beautifully restored historic building, with remarkable attention to detail. Every corner reflects the care and aesthetic sensibility that Mara brings to the space. Both hosts were genuinely welcoming and engaged - their presence added warmth and personality to the experience.

There are, however, a couple of downsides to note. The road leading to the property is in very poor condition and may be difficult to navigate without caution. Additionally, the swimming pool would benefit from an upgrade to better match the quality and charm of the rest of the property.

An exceptional stay at Borgo Delle Pietre - many thanks to Marta and Dominic for such a lovely stay and warm welcome (with us getting there later than we'd hoped!) - the room was spacious; cool on a very hot day/evening; comfortable and very relaxing. The meals (evening and breakfast) were excellent - particularly the evening meal - on the terrace; was wonderful; delicious. The grounds are very relaxing (wish we had more time to try out the pool and use the hammock under the trees). The sofas and chairs in the garden in the shade are a lovely touch. And finally - the best bit of local knowledge from Marta that book author Camillieri's Inspector Montalbano was born in Porto Empedocle - we went down to the beach after leaving and soaked in the sun in Vigata (magical)

We needed more time here; we will come back

We can only say that our stay was absolutely exceptional from every single aspect. From the moment we arrived the friendly welcome we received until the moment we left. The property is so well maintained, the gardens and pool area are immaculate. The rooms are very large as are the bathrooms and are so well equipped with everything you could think of. The bed was the best bed we have slept in throughout our 4 week holiday through Sicily. Now I cannot compliment the chef highly enough for our amazing dinners. We are both foodies at heart and I must say our dinners were about a 11 out of 10. The presentation of the food, the ambience of eating in such a stunning , peaceful courtyard , the service and above all the food was to die for. Do not look elsewhere if staying in the area and if your not then you need to add it to your list and make sure to stop for a night or two.

The fact that we didn’t stay longer.

Everything about this complex, created by owners Mara and Domenico, has been lovingly and carefully assembled to provide guests with an indulged, relaxing stay. The setting is a joy, with birdsong throughout the day and a feel that could be Tuscany or Provence. The staff are obliging, friendly and courteous, and complete the experience of comfort and welcome. In all honestly, after many years of travelling, and staying at hundreds of hotels, Borgo delle Pietre stands out as being among the best we've experienced. I'd award a score of eleven out of ten! 😁

No fault of Borgo delle Pietre, but the local authorities need to make an effort and fix the road leading up to the hotel. At the very least, there are potholes that need to be fixed. Given the high standard of hotel that Borgo delle Pietre offers, and the bonus to tourism, fixing this road should be regarded as a matter of priority to ensure ongoing benefits to the community from hotel visitors.

This place exceeded our expectations. We stayed 3 nights and it was the perfect place to stay mid trip. It allowed us the space to breathe and decompress from driving all over the island. We did some quick day trips from here, and we had 2 days of enjoyment the area too. We ate dinners each night, honestly the best food of our trip, we felt no reason to go into town and roll the dice when we knew the food was so good. The traditional fish soup was the most delicious meal I had on our trip. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Sicily.

This is the most delightful oasis, beautifully curated with the most amazing food and wine. We enjoyed three nights here and could have stayed longer. This is not a large establishment so it feels like you are staying with friends, the breakfast was amazing, fresh, abundant and homemade. The grounds are pleasant and it is a treat to escape to this paradise. The rooms are all tastefully decorated and individual. Beds were the most comfortable we slept in during our stay in Italy. The hosts were so accomodating and made us feel like rock stars!

Having to leave!

Excellent breakfast. Our first room was as reserved, but very difficult to get to, and small. Host moved us to a better room, easier to walk to. Very quiet. Beautiful pool area (but no heated pool-it was cold). When the restaurant had an unscheduled closing, they called a car to drive us to a restaurant offsite, and return us home, at n/c. :)

It's an interesting drive, 2.2 km from the main road over a poorly maintained road, but we did get there. There was some kind of problem with the chef and out dinner was not good at all. Apparently a family emergency.

Everything was quite honestly excellent. The property had a sophisticated feel whilst being steeped in Sicilian history and charm. The breakfast was high quality local produce and the dinner menus provided some of the best Italian food we have had. Lots of wonderful beaches near by and plenty of local history with the Valley of the Temples and much more. One of our favorite trips to date as a family. The couple running the villa were lovely and very accommodating with our young children.

Very good breakfast -- we were the only guests that day and they laid out the full breakfast buffet for us. Lovely staff, particularly the owner Dominico and his wife, Mara... and Mark, a friendly half-Irish, English-speaking member of staff who we really liked (although we do speak Italian). The style and design of the place is well-thought-out with a great deal of care and love... my wife liked the pool area and there are some great touches, such as the rows of cacti in large pots and the swinging sofa under the olive trees. Highly recommended.

The 'smart' TV was quite difficult to tune... but that is all.
