Super location for the old town area and new development on the coast. Host very helpful and friendly. Breakfast croissant home made :-)... About a 20 min walk to the train station and 30 mins to the ferry terminal for trips along the Amalfi coast. Lots of food places nearby, and 10 mins walk to the Co-op supermarket for stock up and the (really good) deli counter.

Room was good size but the cooking facilities were minimal. Few utensils, no microwave (other rooms do have one). We bought pre-cooked or ate out, and that was ok for us but if you wanted full self catering you'd struggle with this room.

Maria's breakfast croissants were much awaited each morning, and the lovely smell of them baking woke us up each morning. They tasted as good as they smelt. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a wonderful view over the Salerno rooftops to the hills beyond. We enjoyed conversations with the other guests at breakfast time. It had a happy, relaxing atmosphere. Maria and Tony were great hosts, and we recommend their accommodation to others. Tony's welcome and information about the apartment was very good.

The lift was slow, so if you do not like confined spaces, it feels like an eternity. Just use it for heavy luggage. We are an older couple, and we managed the steep staircase, with a reasonable level of fitness. Not a concern for younger people.

-My bedroom was clean, comfortable, and had a FANTASTIC view. -Free toiletries for use in a spotlessly clean bathroom. -BEAUTIFUL view from the rooftop of Salerno's medieval centre and the ocean. Watching the sunset was magical. -Location, location, location. Lovely spot and so easy to walk to any/all of Salerno's attractions. -Antonio and Maria are both SO lovely. They're warm, welcoming, kind, funny. As a solo traveller, I was feeling a bit lonely when I first checked in, and the two of them are such good hosts that I immediately felt at home and comfortable. -I really, really appreciated how much we all worked to understand each other even with any language barrier(s)! Antonio's English is perfect, and Maria speaks Italian and French—so I was able to communicate easily with Antonio in English, and I could thank Maria for her DELICIOUS homemade croissants in French. :-)

This isn't a critique of the property itself at all—I have sensory processing issues, so I say this as a heads up for anyone else who's sensitive: 1. The walls are thin. Unless you're a deep sleeper, you need earplugs. No one was loud after ~10pm though (and the B&B was full when I was there) which seems perfectly reasonable to me. 2. The elevator from the courtyard to the main floor of the B&B made me feel very claustrophobic. It's quite small, tight, and has limited airflow. I'm glad it's there, and makes the space more accessible, but maybe take the stairs up if you can! Neither of those things outweigh how lovely staying here is overall. Just good to know about in advance if you're sensitive to this kinda stuff. :-)

The apartment was wonderful. We booked a studio apartment, but Mrs. Maria gave us a beautiful, large apartment with two bedrooms and a living room. It was a very pleasant surprise 🙂 The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed. There was also a dishwasher and a washing machine. The apartment was clean, very spacious with a small terrace. Very good Italian breakfasts. The location was great. The owners are very nice and helpful. I highly recommend staying at Casa Maria!

It would be useful to repair or replace, for example, a toilet seat or a slightly leaking kettle, but these are minor things.

I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Maria, I was provided an upgraded room on arrival, it was such a beautiful apartment I wanted to live there! It had high ceilings, a comfortable bed, heating was great in the bedroom, shower and bathroom was spacious. Antonio and Maria were wonderful and the Italian breakfast was great with fresh baked croissants! The terrace had views of Salerno, the castle and ocean and I really enjoyed having my morning coffees here, this as a wonderful place to stay whether it is a long or short trip, I would recommend staying here. Everything was well kept, Antonio was really responsive to any questions or assistance I needed, I really enjoyed this place.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like but a few of my experiences during my stay, I only had a some issues using the oven during my stay, Antonio helped to try and fix this problem but I used an alternate solution instead and the apartment being quite large and spacious it took a little while to get the space warm with the heating in the kitchen/living area, but layers works for that and expected for a high ceiling apartment.

The guest house is located on the 4th floor of a building in the old town of Salerno, very close to the main walking street and the lungo mare promenade. It has a new elevator. There are many shops and restaurants around. It has a lovely terrace with a great view, where you could enjoy the breakfast. Or you can eat it in the living room. The breakfast was delicious and you have different food and drink options. There are fresh baked croissants every day. The owner and his mother are very kind and helpful. My room was in the attic floor, with pitched roof. It was simple but comfortable, with a roof window. The bed was really comfy. The price was good and i recommend staying here!

The stairs and the corridor of the attic floor are not separated from the living room and sometimes i could hear the talking people in the living room and the smell of the cooked meals in the kitchen was reaching my room. So this could disturb your sleep, if you're not an early bird :)

Exactly as described. Wonderful location, amazing little town almost untouched by the tourists. Having the apartment cleaned mid-week and providing us with fresh towels was a very lovely touch. Roberto and his mum were wonderful hosts and I will definitely stay here if I return back .Thank you Note to other guests: there is a port 10 minutes walk from the apartment called Mono Manfredi. Do not go to the other port that is almost 30 mins walk. Something we realised half through our stay 😭

I think having to share one bathroom between four of us was a challenge, would be nice to have accessibility to additional bathrooms for larger groups of guests. Apart from this I could not fault the place at all.

We were offered a perfect, spacious double bed room appartment in the same house instead of the studio. Breakfast was tasty. Antonio and his mother, the hosts, were very friendly and helpful when we stayed in their house. The house is central but a bit away from most bussy streets.

There is nothing wrong about this appartment/house. For an extra day Antonio recommended us an appartment in a different house - big, modern appartment on photos, but in fact there was mold, bad smell and mosquitoes. Don't take this offer. It's necessary to say that we were offered a refund when complained. But we didn't whant to move or look for another appartment in the evening.

We had 4 kids with us and we only seemed to book for 4 of us. Antonio was quick to reassure us that he could accomodate all of us and it was not a problem. We had lots of luggage and were on the top floor but there is a lift. The area is perfect and was fairly easy to find. Shower was hot and great, big tv and great breeze through the patio door and plenty of space. Breakfast was great!!

The stair way echoed when people talked in the middle of the night. Shower window has a blind and overlooks the stairs but kids would have liked more privacy.

I initially booked a studio apartment, but to my delight, I was upgraded to a stunning 2-bedroom apartment—absolutely amazing! Every detail was impeccable. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathroom offered a delightful view, and the temperature control was a real plus during the winter stay. Special commendation to Maria and her son, a truly lovely host, who made my experience even more enjoyable. The daily breakfast was a highlight, featuring a delightful spread of croissants, toast, various jams, butter, cheese, juice, and coffee—a truly delightful Italian breakfast. In every aspect, this stay went above and beyond my expectations. A heartfelt thank you for making my time here truly memorable! The location is a bit of a mixed bag. If you arrive and depart by train, it's convenient as you can deboard one station before the central station, just a 10-minute walk to the B&B. However, if you're coming from the central station, be prepared for a 30-minute walk. One notable point is that the B&B is situated on the 4th floor, and currently, there's no lift. While this might be manageable for some, it can be challenging, especially if you're carrying luggage. The good news is that they're in the process of building a lift, but until it's completed, you might need to climb 5 flights of stairs. Consider these factors based on your preferences, but overall, it's a decent option.
