renovated hotel located on the sea shore. the pool is not as big as it seems in the pictures but sufficient to spend time. breakfasts are monotonous but there is such a large selection that you can eat something different every day? The bed was quite comfortable. Beautiful sea views from almost every room. nice viewing terraces

hotel located 4 km from the town. Unfortunately there is no road that can be reached on foot to the restaurant or train station. the second issue is the daily evening animations for children. 9 pm and the kinder ball starts. and so on every day.

The stay in the hotel is a good value for money. We had the cheapest room, some refurbishment would be needed, however the room was spotless clean. I would come again. The hotel offers a very nice view, staff is helpful, it can be a really nice holiday during summer season. We really appreciated repellent in the room, cleaning service and new towels.

The location is little bit remote, you need a car to get to the nearest village or if you want to get around. The breakfast selection can be improved, we stayed four nigths and every morning breakfast was exactly the same. However, still a very good value if I take into consideration the money paid.

The view and outdoor spaces!!! Value for money unbeatable. I am planning a return.

We had room 14 and 16. One of them had great covers (warm enough for April) and mattress the other didn't. The quality of some of the breakfast items was not very good (eggs and bacon was not real bacon) However, no hard feelings here. The price for our double rooms in the white bungalows was a bargain and I wouldn't expect a 4 star breakfast. The beach was obviously destroyed by a recent storm, so not really suitable for swimming.

It is a great place to rest and recharge - the beach is nice, not the most picturesque, but it is smaller, with beach umbrellas and sun chairs provided (and included in the price); it is a small drop down the cliff, which you can do on foot or pay 1 € per person for a golf cart to take you up or down (the problem, however, is, that they take a LONG time to respond, we ordered it twice, waited so long once, that after 25 minutes we decided to go on foot, then the second time, they came and didn't let us know they're there, apparently didn't see us, so we again waited for 30 minutes for someone to come pick us up). The pool is nice, deeper on one side, so you can actually jump, with an adjacent small pool for kids. All the sunbeds surrounding the pool are MARVELOUS, breakfast is good, views are amazing, staff is friendly, also lunch outside of the package (in case you only have breakfast included) can be enjoyed for a very reasonable, affordable price. Stromboli should be visible from the hotel, but on 3 very sunny, cloudless days, we couldn't catch a glimps of it, probably, because it was high humidity? Tropea is close by, 10 mins by car. Parking is provided (although quite small) and free of charge. What we really appreciated is the tennis + paddle court, first play is free of charge, we were very excited for that. Paddle is new and super nice, they also rent you rackets and balls. Amazing! We were already talking about coming back, as it sets a perfect base for exploring Calabria, visiting the nearby islands, beaches, etc. - but if you just want to stay put, the pool and the "private" beach, along with 2 beautiful seaside restaurants, sports facilities, views, several activities, games, entertainment happening at the hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner served - marvelous.

Some people would consider that very nice, I am super sure, but for us the several aqua gym and kids animation sessions at the pool were a bit too frequent, but that's a minor thing. We were staying in the apartments that are close by the hotel (2mins drive), it was more peaceful, the studio was in a very peaceful setting, next to a small olive tree garden, it is a bit cheaper and calmer, which is why we opted for it during our short stay, but we would have chosen it again, if we decided to go back. One minus is true: the mattress was very hard in that apartment; to a point when we felt our ribs hurting when laying on the side. But that's the only thing we could truly complain about. Another small consideration is that it doesn't have a gym.

breakfest is great, you have everything included, coffee, deserts, etc. My room was outside of the main complex, location is great for big companies.

- my room didn't have a window, so you need to use lights in the middle of the day, I hate this! - for sit on the balcony when dinner you are paying extra money, sunset view, etc. It was fun to see how half of those tables were empty =D But the same view can be observed from any point of the hotel restaurant...))

This hotel was perfect for our large family. we have five young children and it was awesome to be able to go from the pool to the beach back to the pool then to the playground…our days were filled with fun and laughter and even Mom and Dad got a little relaxation, too.

We have a large family, so unfortunately we had to split into two rooms to accommodate all of our kids. It would be great to have a larger room option with bunk beds.

I've been to Villaggio Stromboli on 4 separate occasions. It's one of my favourite places to stay. I love the location, staff, affordability. I can get to every place I like (beaches, restaurants, Tropea) within 15 minutes. It will always be a place where I look forward to returning.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the rooms were recently updated. Contrary to other reviews we read, everything was functional too (air conditioning, hot water, ...). Maybe those were old reviews. Beach access was easy enough. No charge for chairs and sun umbrellas. Golf cart rides at 1 Euro each are available for those who want to avoid the 40 m climb back up to the resort (roadway, not stairs). We booked the breakfast option only, though we booked dinner as well on 2 of the 3 nights we were there. The meals were not gastronomical, but they were good and reasonably priced. Eating at the resort made for a relaxing stay.

Drink were a bit pricy.

Friendly staff, especially Weuz, all of them very helpful and kind. Ladies on the reception were also really effective. Dinners were delicious, really tasty and diverse.

mosquitos the first night (more than 100 killed that night), and unfunctional air contition (only first day) breakfast was poor, every day the same and every day bad coffe at breakfast and old bread and dry eggs.

Location of the hotel and specially the bar was amazing, right on the beach. Swimming pool was well maintained and equally useful for all ages. Food was very good. Airport transfers were reasonable. Staff was able to resolve any issues with the stay quickly.

Kids playground was not well maintained, there were not many options for adults to do any activities, basically you can only swim in Pool or in the sea. Food was great but choices were limited. There were no supermarkets nearby and it was bit expensive if you want to take taxi from the hotel. No option to take any vehicle on rent near the hotel.
