The property is beautiful, the rooms were very clean, and the beach was wonderful. The water was very calm great for kids!

The breakfast was good with variety of choices but the food at lunch and dinner was a disaster. Food was a struggle in our stay. We tried to order different things everyday but definitely flavours are missing. We tried a burger, the bun was HUGE and the burger was raw uncooked. We also tried to order shrimps with gnocchi, they gave us two tiny shrimps. The fish was frozen, you could taste it. I hope they can do something with the food!

The breakfast buffet included a wide variety of foods for every palate with seating on the balcony of the main restaurant, right across from the sea. Dinner in the main dining room was delicious. The servers were very attentive and aimed to please. There were not many dishes that did not contain seafood. The town was within easy walking distance and there were plenty of stores for shopping and restaurants, including an award winning ice cream parlor.

The hotel parking lot was not right next to the hotel, but there was a shuttle to take you to the car. It was included in the price of the room and the distance was not far.

Hotel is right by the beach. The beach is very well managed. The room was large with a balcony and a great view. The bathroom was big with a very good walk in shower. The food was generally very good particularly the Beach House

There wasn’t a lot of information about what was open and what wasn’t.The food in the main restaurant was a little fussy.

Fantastic location. The Hotel has an exceptional design, offering views, services, elevators, spa, breakfast restaurant with terrace, that offers unique cooking experiences during dinners (there is a menu where you get only chef's choices - surprises) , an "osteria" practically on the beach, umbrellas and sunbeds reserved for hotel guests on a sandy beach with very clean and clear water, walking distance from the center and shopping street, free parking. The staff is professional and welcoming. The sunset seen from the beach or from the hotel is an unforgettable experience. One could also see the Amalfi coast and on clear days the Capri island. Rich breakfasts, the fresh "pasticeria" products are a delight.

The property is right on the beach in one of the loveliest towns we have seen. The dining facilities overlook the ocean and they serve a beautiful breakfast. Eduardo, who works in the dining and bar area was fantastic and made our visit so welcome and hospitable. He should be teaching staff about hospitality!

A good bit of hallway noise distracts from quiet rooms. This could be aided by carpeted hallways or at least runners.

Incredible location in the heart of Cilento with a beautiful beach on the doorstep. Easy walk to town or a challenging walk up to the historic town of Castellabate. The restaurant, breakfast lounge, beach bar all had incredible views. Breakfast was excellent.

Not a lot! There was no floor towel provided for the shower

- fantastic location directly on beautiful sandy beach. - excellent facilities inc. well-staffed beach umbrella and food service. - wait staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, even letting us have breakfast one day after it had closed! - lots of outdoor chill areas with comfy couches from which to view beautiful sunset. - large room big enough for three.

- beds were far too hard. - the front desk staff (except Alicia) weren’t particularly friendly or helpful (making change, booking taxi). - while we could see the sea from our balcony it wasn’t the “sea-view” we expected. Rather than a glass balcony we had one of the few rooms with a brick wall balcony looking on to a tiled roof. Yes we could see the sea but it wasn’t picturesque.

The hotel is beautiful and maintained excellent. We’ve been coming here over a few years and we see new and improved things every year. The staffs nice beyond belief everyone is pleasant and very friendly.

What I get a little tired of the same repetitive offering for breakfast.

The Grand Hotel Santa Maria was perfect for my second stay in Santa Maria di Castellabate. Located directly on the beach and within a short walk to town, it fulfilled every need. The one factor that sets it apart and above are the exceptional staff.

Beautiful sea front hotel. Stunning views. Great access to Paestum and Old Castellabate. Short walk to the town with everything you might need. Parking. Comfy beds. Amazing shower. Private beach. Mostly excellent service. Clean. Lots of bars. Snacks with drinks. Little slippers. Lots of nice touches around the hotel giving it an air of luxury. Very good breakfast.

Just one member of staff on reception was a bit above herself. Some seated areas were not well served by bars.
