Staff were extremely helpful, very limited English, and communication was mainly by Google translation. The breakfast was good. You pre ordered it the day before from a selection of 8 choices . The room was quite spacious and well lite, and I was able to rent a bike from the hotel for a 1000¥ per day, which helped me get around the local area's off interest.

Like most hotels in Japan, the bathrooms are modules and are, therefore, a bit on the small side

With a 7.7 on Booking I was expecting something quite average, but even for a single night stay it exceeded my expectations. Staff found some covered space for my bicycle and gave me great recommendations for local sushi. Right in the middle of town so walking distance to everything you need. Wide choice of breakfast and the chicken teriyaki I had was excellent. Convenience store next door if you need it. Lobby and communal areas were clean, comfortable and welcoming. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

There was some plastic sheeting about the hotel, I’m guessing to keep things clean but this didn’t effect my stay.

Great location for Amakusa. Great breakfast. Kind staff. Small of course but this is Japan. A lot of unusual art and art books in the lobby. I also like the Kushikatsu Ichiban about 4 blocks down the street (I doubt they speak any English). I eat there every night I stay in Amakusa. Tell them Thomas sent you.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. the hotel was recently renovated and offered great value for money. right next to the Amakusa bus terminal was also a great plus point.

there was something wrong with the bathroom ventilation that made it very noisy at times. the walls were pretty thin and you could hear what your neighbors were doing.

Good hotel with nice casual artistic atmosphere. Comfortable rooms. Breakfast is simple with a choice of several menus but very adequate. Nice lounge. Many food options within a short walk of the hotel.

Even though one of our group had to cancel the trip, the people working at the front desk let us adjust the number guests on arrival.

I know there are some floors where it's allowed to smoke in the rooms, but It smelled like cigarettes in the staircase.

The room is clean and tidy, and the location is quite convenient. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and right next door, there’s a convenience store, a bakery, and a bookstore to explore.

Great hotel with friendly staff and thoughtful services! They even had a list at reception of items you could request in case you forgot something, which was a really nice touch.

Very helping staff!! They kindly helped me figure out solutions when a typhoon was coming. I stayed in two different rooms. Both were comfortable, spacious and well equipped. I particularly liked the second one which had many windows with a nice panoramic view of Amakusa!

I would have enjoyed having breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant but unfortunately there wasn’t many vegetarian/vegan friendly options. Moreover it was japanese meals and I didn’t feel like eating udon in the morning.

Perfect location for Amakusa. Right in front of the main bus station. The room was big. The breakfast was cooked to order and very nice.
