Absolutely amazing experience. I should have stayed there for a couple of nights instead of one. Very close to the train station, about 10 min walk up the hill. Not far away from shops and local cafes (~20min walk), and around 20min walk down the hill to the coast. It’s a small town, people are very friendly there, but keep in mind that it’s not touristy so it may be difficult to find a place to eat in the evening.

I hadn’t booked breakfast because I couldn’t really understand what they offer for breakfast and if there was any food choice. I would have preferred to see the menu.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Very nice staff, who made it feel like home. The view from the room is just as good as the pictures if you can believe it!! The room itself is also very clean and the room's style/look was the favorite of my 3 week Japan trip. We notified them that we were going to check in late, nervous that it'd cause issues. But they responded instantly and empathetically saying not to worry at all. Was a very nice experience and I highly recommend!

Not many restaurants and no konbinis within walking distance. Izu in general favors people with a car. I knew this going in, but should've planned dinners, etc. more as restaurants understandably close earlier there than I naively got used to in a bigger city. Futo station nearby does provide access to konbinis and more restaurants, but make sure you watch the train schedules.

very spacious and beautiful view. breakfast is super good cooked fresh for you by the chef for a very affordable sum. staff is very nice and friendly. nice lounge and dining area with drinks. it was fun that you get to choose a bath scent daily for your bathtub. peaceful place to stay, very near the zoo and mount omuro by car. note that you really need a car or it can be inconvenient to get to. the staff are very friendly and helpful, they came to remind us that we forgot to switch off the lights in our car. thank you!

the rooms are only cleaned once in 3 days. we also had to set up the futons ourselves while all our other ryokan stays in japan had set it up nicely for us. our bathtub also drained the water pretty slowly

The staff's service with cheery smiles. Lovely and very clean property located in a peaceful fishermen's town. The rooms are large and the beddings are comfortable. We also enjoyed the free drinks. Though we arrived after 8pm and there's not many food options in the vicinity, we still managed to eat one of the better meals of our Japan holiday at a local conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

The minor inconvenience of no elevator.

Japanese style room, peaceful vibe, ocean view, friendly and helpful staff who helped us to contact local rental car company which enable us to rent a car on the same day

Given the location is on the hill and a bit far to walk from station or to nearby conveient store. It will be great if hotel can work with rental car company for vehcile drop off and pick up to and from the hotel, so anyone who can drive in Japan saves the trouble of catching taxi to car rental company.

The room was extremely spacious, the bathroom facilities are amazing, nice to soak in after a long day. There were also breakfast provided for a small fee of 500yen, and there's instant noodles and drinks available for purchase if you do not want to go out to the konbini.

The location would be tough for those not driving unless you're taking the local train to futo station, but for those driving, convenient enough for Ito city.

Had a relaxing and wonderful stay there. Fantastic little hotel, walkable from and to the train station. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Bath powder was offered everyday for an enjoyable hot bath. Seaview from a large window, can do star gazing from the window at night when the sky is clear. The owner and staff were very friendly. They offer breakfast for only 500 yen.

It might be tough if you are carrying a large luggage and don't have a car, you'll need to walk uphill for 10 min from the train station. Also the hotel doesn't have elevator, ask for second floor if you have accessibility concern.

We added the optional breakfast, it was a simple western toast and egg kind of breakfast so don't expect much. What's worth a mention is the feel of coming home. The view from the common lounge area was great. All the staff including kitchen staff who served us breakfast was very welcoming and responsive.

We thought there was a private onsen to the room we booked, but there isn't. It was a private bathroom. So the description was a little confusing. It was well maintained and clean so we're not complaining!

Spectacular Japanese style room, we felt it’s better than it looked on the pictures! The view of the room is amazing, the mountains, the sea and the village. All the staffs are friendly and we had a little chat with the owner in the morning, who is a lovely lady. Super happy with the stay and we will definitely come back if we visit Ito again.

Futo House is excellent and beautiful. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and affordable. Staff were highly motivated and helpful. We found a local supermarket in the hamlet below that sold incredibly good Bento sets and other delights such as fruits, etc. Wonderful experience.

The inclined road up will be a challenge on foot but manageable if you are not lugging heavy bags after you. However, the saving grace is a short walk. Takes only about 10mins up and going downhill is a breeze to the nearby Futo Train Station. So not too bad overall.
