Excellent place with amazing service! Apart from 1)the glorious ocean view(the host upgraded our room into one with ocean view) 2)free pick up from nearby places, which many comments have already mentioned, what I really appreciated is that the host was really trying to make our stay more pleasant. There was no toothbrush cup when we first got there, and my friend left her toothbrush on the table when we went out. When we went back she found her toothbrush put in a lovely small toothbrush cup. That was so sweet! The place itself was very nice as well, the weather was pretty good during our stay and we saw many stars at night, perfect place for getting away from the cities and enjoying nature.

I asked to reserve a parking spot, I received the response very quickly. The hotel was easy to find. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and detailed information about the stay. He really did his best to make our stay comfortable, what a lovely person! The room was clean and spacious, with sea view. In the morning you are able to see a breathtaking sunrise. From here you can visit many beautiful places. The price is low compared to other stays is the neighborhood. I definitely recommend staying here, I am sure you’ll love it!

The owner was probably the most friendly and hospitable hotel staff I have ever met. He made us feel truly welcome, spoke excellent English and always wanted to do whatever he could to make our stay more pleasant. As the room was not occupied he upgraded us to a sea view room at no extra charge and also drove us to and from the station each day. The rooms were comfortable and extremely tidy as they were cleaned each day. I am so happy this was the hotel I chose and I would 100% stay here again.

The hotel is a little far from the station to walk, but this wasn’t really an issue as the owner offers to dive you to local areas and he quickly comes to pick you up if you message him. He even offered to wait in the car while we shopped for food!

The host of JOYinn, Tak-san, was friendly, accommodating and very helpful. A great host! He arranged our transportation, took us to sightseeing locations and dropped us off at the train station after check out. The property is beautiful and surrounded by sweeping views of the mountais, including Omuroyama, and the Jogasaki coast. It's set in a residential neighborhood, but was easy enough to access points of interest by the local bus routes, which takes some planning, or the optional transportation provided by the guest house. As an added bonus, there is a great restaurant located within walking distance (食味工房), where I recommend trying the Bansai set (ばんさい セット). Finally, be prepared to be amazed when you turn out the lights in your room!!!

There is nothing not to like. Just be aware of transportation options if you are travelling without a car. Easy to get around with proper planning.

1. The shuttle bus service is very convenient ! 2. The host is very warm-hearted. Kindly drove us to the supermarket and convenient store after picking us up at the station. the service is the best among all the hotels we've lived in Japan! 3. The sea view is spectacular. The sea view room has huge windows so we can enjoy the view just in the room.

Very quiet location (although no restaurants or shops nearby. Beautiful coastal scenery and nearby volcano. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful. He will drop you off to local places of interest and pick you up if you need it. Very clean.

Remote location with no shops or restaurants nearby. Almost impossible to get around without a car. Although the owner was excellent and will give you a ride.

We absolutely loved everything about this place - the friendly staff, the spacious room, the cleanliness and their adorable dogs. We stayed here for three nights and this place felt like home. We highly recommend this place and will be staying here again when we're in the area!

Great place, tucked away in the hills above Izu Kogen station. Reasonably priced, very well organized, super clean, well equipped rooms (some with beautiful ocean view), friendly and relaxed owner and possible to book on the same day. Pick-up from the station provided, also very reasonably priced laundry service. It was our third visit. Will be back for sure. Thanks for the upgrade!

Bathrooms are a bit small.

The host, Tack Sang, is very patient and enthusiastic. He helped us a lot in transportation. I think he is a huge fan of language and very willing to learn some new words from different contries and regions. I feel a little bit sorry that I misunderstood what Tack Sang had asked about how to express "see u tomorrow" in Hunan dialect. So basically in Hunan we say【明朝见】, it pronounces like [ming zao jien]. Hopefully it will bring Tack Sang some new things.

Owner was extremely helpful! Even helped us make a phone call because we didn’t speak Japanese. Very friendly to international visitors. The inn is located on a hill, but there’s free pickup service, so traveling was not a problem. Room is spacious.
