We liked how Japanese are very friendly and go out of there way to help you. The food was always presented well and fresh. Seemed to be very safe walking anywhere. Many restaurants /Cafes/SuperMarkets . endless amount of convenience stores called Lawson where you can access International ATM. Hotels range between budget and high end to suit your pocket. Car rental prices are average, GPS talks in English and very easy to follow directions, we translated address in english to Japanese screenshot then asked a Japanese person to enter in GPS as the words were Japanese, had no trouble doing this.
The smell of cigarettes in hotel rooms is terrible when we enter can not get rid of the smell, we have stayed in 4 hotels so far average of 3 to 4 nights in each, hotels advertise as Non Smoking which is not true, asking for a non smoking room is a waste of time.

Very hospitable, free breakfast was very fresh and nice.
All hotels such as this hotel smell of cigarette smoke, otherwise great stay.
