Gorgeous stay, one of my favourites so far. Lovely welcoming staff, explained everything and offered information booklets in English. Nice, spacious tatami room, pristine clean and with that aromatic tatami smell. The futon was comfortable and the pillow had a husk and a soft side. The facilities were amazing. Very spacious restaurant with delicious kaiseki offer and selection of local nihonchu. The large bath outside with the snow was very relaxing and a beautiful experience. The hotel shop was very well stocked with souvenirs but also drinks and snacks (great ice cream and mochi selection by the way). A very relaxing and easy stay, perfect to slow

The large bath maybe needs a little attention. The lockers are functional but a bit rusty. And I would recommend someone check the facilities regularly as one of the customers had a "little accident" in the shower area and the smell really wasn't a good experience, but that's not the hotels fault, whoever done it should have called a member of staff.

The hotel is a fair distance from the train station, but the hotel does provide morning shuttles to the station and afternoon shuttles to the hotel. You do need to make prior arrangements for the shuttle. The public bath was clean and accessible, while the private toilet in our room was greatly appreciated. The food was delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed a performance from a local dance group. Tip: Be sure to visit the Visitor Center at the Ichinoseki Station. They provide train and bus timetables to help you plan your visit.

We had a Japanese style room which is typically more spacious than western style rooms. The bottom layer of the futon bedding was a bit thin, making our sleep a little uncomfortable. Some other establishment provide an extra layer on the foundation for more comfort. Other than that, our room was clean, spacious and had a beautiful view of the countryside.

A lovely location with serene countryside views and beautifully set out, comfortable rooms. There is so much to do around the area (with a car) and within the hotel. The indoor and outdoor onsens were perfect! The food was exceptional and exquisitely presented. The staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful.

The personnel was excellent. Very good breakfast and dinner. Calm and relaxing.

Only two buses a day from the hotel to the central bus and railroad is quite limitative. It almost obliges to rent a car.

Absolutely loved the hot spring baths, both indoor and outdoor, and it was great to have bath options between whirlpool, ultrasound, bubbles, herbal, etc. The staff were super knowledgeable about the area and provided lots of insider local information about when popular restaurants would sell out, how to get places, and so on. Very helpful and kind.

The road to the hotel is a bit dark, but that’s about it worries-wise.

Reasonably close to main attractions in the area- Chusonji Temple, Geibikei Gorge etc. Were able to provide a vegetarian kaiseki dinners which was a very nice surprise!

The property had amenities near the front desk / lobby where you could make cotton candy or shaved ice after a hot summer day, it was very refreshing.

Although the priestly was clean, simple, and comfortable the property was old.

It was not clearly stated in the websites that there is no bath/shower in the room, so showers had to be taken in the onsen

Large range and excellent portion, love the breakfast.

Dinner had many choices but booking.com does not reflect or show the various meal choices during booking.

Very clean and spacious room, amenities were well stocked in the room, everything was very well organized, and the free evening half ramen between 21:00 and 22:30 was a great touch (and was top quality)

Wish there as a way to choose the food menu ahead on booking.com I was booked for the basic course and some of the premium wagyu courses did look really good
