Location was fantastic! Across the road from the Akakura Kanko ski lift, you can nearly ski right to the door. Ski rental is available in the hotel building and the dry room is great. It’s also an easy 10 minute walk into town (Akakura onsen) where there are great restaurants and bars. You can easily ski from Kanko to Onsen and have lunch in the village too. Bus available and easy to catch right out front of the hotel to get to other ski resorts e.g. Sugiohara. Staff were very helpful, assisted us booking restaurants, taxis etc. Basic hotel but it doesn’t get much more convenient for a ski trip!

The location is fantastic if you want to ski at Akakura Kanko and you can even get vouchers for discounted lift tickets to any resort in the area from the front desk. The use of the private bath was excellent after a long day of skiing. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and the staff was super helpful and kind.

The bed mattresses were fairly uncomfortable as you could feel the springs underneath you, but the top blankets and comforters as well as the futon materials were great.

Breakfast was serviceable, nice and different every day. You can also choose to swap each day between western and japanese style breakfast. Staff was very helpful with receiving our bags we had forwarded and always friendly. Room was clean and authentic Japanese-western mix style. Men's onsen fits 3 large people comfortably (maybe max 8 people if you want to squeeze in) so you usually plan to have it to yourself. Drying room for ski gear and the like was very useful. The few restaurants that are really nearby are all excellent.

Onsen is showing its age a little, but nothing too egregious. If you are basing your plans around the Akakura Onsen town and ski area the location can be a bit annoying in bad weather - however all the traffic we encountered was courteous and the walk isn't more than 10 minutes. Bathrooms are tiny so I'd recommend to use the onsen for as much as possible, and you won't have any privacy from your roommates.

The location is great. It is not a ski-in ski-out location but it is just a street over to the lift and gondola. The shuttle bus is also just across the street so very convenient. Even getting rental is just downstairs. Other than being too busy to give us a ride from and to the train station, the staff were very accommodating and helpful with everything else. We had a great stay.

The only complain we had was breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful but it would be nice if the menu varied a little bit more. My other complain is not related to the hotel but about the Akakura Kanko ski resort. We had to line up to buy lift tickets every day. There was no 2-3 days passes like other ski resorts around Japan. Very inconvenient.

The room was spacious and very clean. The communal bath downstairs felt amazing after a long day of skiing! The staff at the hotel was really nice and helpful. The hotel is right opposite the lifts, and you can even rent your ski/snowboard equipment from a rental shop in the building! We had a great stay and would definitely recommend the place.

The beds were a bit hard, and there was no trash can provided in the room. Otherwise, nothing!

The location of Hotel Moc is directly across the road from the Akakan ski resort and lifts. Perfect for our 8 day stay. The dinners at the hotel were outstanding for quality and value. We also appreciated the pick up and drop off at the station. Great helpful staff. Thank you.

Great location opposite Akakura Kanko gondola. Easy 5 minutes walk into the Main Street if Myoko Kogen with lots of restaurants . We liked the skiing at Kanko more than Akakura Onsen so it suited us well

It was old and the beds were a bit uncomfortable, but couldn’t expect anything more for the fantastic price

The location was perfect, right across the road from the gondola. The dinner was really great too for a cheap price for what you get!

Like many Japanese hotels in this range, everything is dated and feels old, but it's good value for the price, especially the location, staff, and food.

Excellent stay, really nice sizeable room right across from the ski slopes. Very comfortable stay for a great price. The manager was very helpful, organising pick up and drop of at Myoko station. Will definately stay again.

Breakfast could be a bit bigger.

Stayed in the hybrid Western/Japanese style room which is spacious and comfortable. décor is fairly basic but the hotel is clean and tidy. Our only criticism is the size of the bathroom. It is on the small size, even by Japanese standards. Decent sized drying room. Ski/snowboard hire shop on site. Location is perfect, right opposite the Kanko gondola and a 5 minute walk in to the Akahura village. We have stayed here before and will happily stay again.

Not a lot.
