The staff are friendly and helpful, though they tend to be shy and reserved. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, with high standards of upkeep. The onsen facility is modern, relaxing, and a perfect place to unwind. The breakfast offers a good variety and is enjoyable.

The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the nearest station, which may be inconvenient for some. The fresh fruit at breakfast was always gone within 30 minutes, leaving fewer options for later guests.

The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the local train station, but was still convenient to travel into Kyoto if you are using public transportation. The rooms were nice, and seemed larger than most standard Japanese hotel rooms. There was even a couch-like seating area with table, which was one of my favorite features. The breakfasts were good, and varied throughout the stay, so if you are staying multiple nights and like different options in the morning, this was good. There is also a convenience store across the street available for any last minute purchases.

It was just an in-between destination stopover but it was a comfortable hotel with a very nice onsen facility and good laundry amenities. There is a good restaurant in front of the hotel. The carpark was spacious! The staff was excellent - my friend had left her Apple Airpods in the room at this hotel, and when she realized it we were already in Nara. The hotel staff at Kusatsu Ritto Route Inn arranged for the airpods to be sent to us in Nara without any charge. We are very grateful for your service and kindness! the room was very comfy and clean the bathroom was really nice there was a small desk and a couch which was good to have.

it smelled like cigarretes even on non smoking floors which was disappointing and the location was quite bad as you have to walk for 15 minutes to get to the train station and there is not anything nice to see around the hotel.

Good hotel with breakfast and spa for a relatively low a price.

It is a bit far if you commute to Kyoto every day. Need to walk 10+ minutes to Tehara station, from where the trains to Kusatsu are not that frequent. In Kusatsu you need to change the train for Kyoto. There is also no konbini nearby.

This is the best hotel that we have stayed in so far. The staff is so polite. We booked for only 2 adults and 1 child. For some reason, the day we stayed had to be 3 children. They didn't charge us, but they politely said that the room we booked have a sofa. Some of us can sleep there and be careful not to fall. The morning buffet was so delicious! We really had a great time.

Curtains just fit the size of window - need to make sure it covers all the corners. Washroom space a little tight. No public transportation access and taxi's are rare, need to walk to/from train station.

just a really nice hotel with really nice staff at the desk, varied breakfast buffet every day and just a ten minutes walk to Tehara station. I found it a great place for my daily trips to Kyoto, but i travel light, maybe with a lot of suitcases it's less easy.

We dine in the restaurant across the carpark and had a free beer on each of the 3 nights. It was value for money with the breakfast included and free parking throughout our stay.

The room was comfortable and quiet, despite the hotel being very crowded. The staff was also very helpful and the facilities were all quite well done.

The breakfast was far too crowded, and there were children coughing all over the food. Since the food wasn't covered, I found this entirely unacceptable.
