Nice central location, not far from the station. The room was spacious, and we heard no noise from other guests. The breakfast (both Japanese and Western) was really delicious. We could leave our luggage in the hotel, while we were hiking the Kumano Kodo, for a small fee, and that went without any problem. The host first appeared a bit unfriendly, but that was more likely due to the language barrier The beds were very comfortable (a bit hard, but that did not bother us).

Everything was as hoped

Great little place close to Kii Tanabe station. The folks at the front desk were super kind and helpful, they helped both me and another guest make some necessary calls to our future accommodations. Breakfast was delicious and just the right size!

I really have no complaints, it was a wonderful first night in Tanabe. A window with a screen would have been nice.

Before I set off on my Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, I stayed one night at the Hotel Hanaya. It is perfectly located, right near the bus and train station. So you don't have to go far. I didn't enjoy breakfast, but there is a 7/11 at the train station. The internet was stable, the room was big enough and clean. The whole hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but that didn't bother me. Check-in is only from 4 p.m., please note.

The food was amazing! We had an excellent breakfast before walking the Kumono Kodo trail and the lunch bento box was delicious as well. Nice smell of incense on arrival. The dining room was very cool with alot of American memorabilia. I love the saloon doors that lead to the bathroom. Really close to kii tanabe and Isakyas as well.

Rooms were comfortable. The food was good and they served a lot of it. Location was just right for our needs. It was nice to have our own showers. We requested two rooms next to each other which they gave us. The rooms were quiet.

I did not know the Japanese language. It would have been helpful if someone on the staff knew some English. Next time I come to Japan, I plan on learning some key phrases to help me communicate to the locals.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Kii-Tanabe station. The room was warm (winter) and clean and the bed quite comfortable. Breakfast at the GF bar was delicious. One can choose between Western and Japanese. I chose Japanese.

When I first saw the outside of the hotel, I thought it looked shabby, but my room was great, location was only four minutes walk to the station and tourist information centre and the breakfast was excellent.

Nothing.

The breakfast was included but the earliest we could eat was 7 am. Would rather have eaten earlier for an earlier start time catch our bus to Takajiri Oji.

Breakfast was very good as was location close to the railway station.

Bathroom was very small but typical of Japanese standard.

Great location. Skipped breakfast for early bus. Good size room for 1 person. Comfortable and clean. Several restaurants close by and 5 minutes walk to train station.

Older style but couldn’t fault it.
