The host is very friendly and attentive. She speak little English but she will try her best to help you in any assistance you requested. The hostel itself it's very cozy home feeling. It's more than a hostel facilities when you can get a common area with kitchen, espresso machine, fridge, drinking water. If you are stayed in for more than 2 days I believe the washing machine and dryer would be amazing for you. The location is perfect with walking to any tourist spot, located nearby with foods, convenient stores & etc.

So far, no complaint and nothing.

The location is about a 10 minute walk from Uji station. Compared to the busy main Kyoto area, Uji is more quiet and relaxed. I arrived in the evening, but I found the hostel easily (look for 'add'). The hostel ambiance and aesthetics were modern and very pleasing. I stayed on the 2F where there is a common kitchen area and free amenities (water, coffee, tea, beer). The room has an air conditioning/heating unit, and the lights can be remotely turned on/off. I stayed in a room with two beds so it is very spacious. I also received a small towel and toothbrush set.

Because my room is closest to the common area, I can hear sounds coming from other guests. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to bring my noise cancelling earphones or ear plugs.

Uji is a wonderful town and a good base to explore Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and Uji itself. This hostel is conveniently located close to the train station. The hostess at the front desk was very helpful and explained everything at check-in. Excellent communal facilities with washer, dryer, nice showers with great water pressure, tea, fridges, basic kitchen, and free draft beer! If you are on a budget, they have very nice private rooms or dormitory style rooms that are well equipped.

The beds (futon Japanese style) were not that comfortable and only had thin blankets, unfortunately. Though it was very hot when we were there, perhaps they provide thicker bedding in cooler months.

I arrived at the hotel 2 hours before check in time completely soaked, hoping I could drop my bags off at least so I could move freely. The owner was really nice and let me check in early. - Really nice owner and staff, who possess basic English - Room was much spacier than I expected, I had 3 beds all to myself, as well as a table, clothes rack, TV, etc - Kitchen area fulfilled my needs for 1 night - Toilet rooms were clean - Hibike Euphonium art on the walls - Location is perfect for Uji

- Some of the other guests were a little bit loud, but the rooms had decent soundproofing

The staff are super helpful and kind, check-in was swift and we were very happy with our tatami private room. We only stayed there 2 nights. We were shown around the amenities before settling in our room. There was free beer and coffee in the common kitchen, which was a perk. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We mainly used the hotel as a place to crash whilst exploring Kyoto. It is around 20-40 mins away on the train to Kyoto and, depending on which 'Uji' station you end up using, a 10-20 min walk away from the station. Also worth noting that Uji is in between Kyoto and Nara so if you are planning on going to Nara it is not too far on the train! Would stay there again if we had the chance.

Overall a fantastic experience, the only downside was that our room window was next to the external smoking spot which we only realised when we cracked open the window. Maybe a little sign to warn us would have helped, or move the smoking spot a little further back away from the window. This didn't bother us, but it could bother guests in the future.

Great location, 10mins walk to Byodoin Temple. Free flow beer from 4pm to 10pm, my husband was happy with it. I had a glass too in order to warm up my body. Facilities are clean. Host is friendly. Carpark provided if you request and reserve in advance.

A bit expensive as this is 2 bunk bed in a small room with very little space. No space for big luggage and no space to stand 4people when we first open the door.

The furnish and cleanliness. It is about 10min walk with some luggage but it is also 10min to Byodoin. It is away from the main shopping street but everywhere is walkable. There is a supermarket, restaurants and a food mart to buy cooked dishes.

The thin walls. You can hear a little when your next door housemates chat. Perhaps they aren’t aware.

The location is very convenient for traveling yet the environment is quiet and peaceful. If you are fond of quiet places, don't hesitate to stay here. There is a supermarket nearby and I can cook in the shared kitchen. The kitchen provides all that I need, it helps a lot for a traveler when most time the food is not balanced during the traveling. The floor is wooden so can provide good support for my back when I'm sleeping, and I like it. The owner is very friendly. The first day when I arrived, this friendly gentleman helped me to carry my luggage to my room. Very considerate!

The staff was super nice. They let me enter before check in time and they were very friendly. The check out time is also very good. Not so often they let you leave until 11am. The room is in Japanese style and it was very beautiful. It has all amenities that you need. It's located near all the touristic area. I would stay there again.

It was the most beautiful ‘hostel’ I have ever stayed in! Impeccably clean, sweet decor (small flower arrangements outside of each room) and a common kitchen that even serves draft beer! My room was a beautiful small tatami room with a lovely alcove too. The owner is so very welcoming and let me store my luggage for a while after check out. Highly recommend!!!
