The location at the entrance to the park is great. The tours we took part in - Night Hike, Day Trek, and Night Boat Ride were all good. The "included" food was buffet, but good, and the option for ordering from a menu was available. The restaurant does serve beer and wine too. The facilities are nicely landscaped and well maintained. Going across the river to Kuala Tahan is easy, although not required. The "chalets" are mostly separate although some are duplex and may not be as private or as quiet. Some units have larger porches as well. It is would be good to be specific is you have preferences.

If promoting itself as an eco-resort then handing out plastic bottles of water is not consistent. Other eco-resorts provide guests with branded re-usable bottles and a couple of on-site water fill stations. The re-usable bottles continue to promote the eco-resort image even after they leave.

We had an amazing experience with loving memories. It’s best to book the transfer directly from the hotel if you come from KL or you can take the bus to Jerantut and from there take a taxi to kuala tahan. When you want to take the boat from kuala tempeling, make sure to check the departure times beforehand. The friendly staff welcome you at the check-in and help you with booking activities. The chalets are simple, but include everything you need including great airconditioning. The WiFi works great across the whole resort. The tour guides hosting the activities were kind, passionate and showed us everything in the jungle. Shoutout to Kemay!! The breakfast and dinner buffet differ per day, if you don’t like what’s on the menu you can order from a seperate a la carte menu (extra charge).

Location, food, lovely staff. Be sure to take all of the boat trips on offer; they are an essential part of the experience here.

The guy walking around with the leaf blower. If you want to do any serious hiking, you must arrange to have a guide the day (or two) before. The footpaths that you can access on your own are very limited. Taman Negara is world-class as national parks go, but there is almost nothing in the way of interpretive stuff about the natural history of the rainforest. The guides are great, but their english is limited; you’re not getting David Attenborough to talk you through any of this.

The lodges where much better than expected after reading some reviews about upgrading. The food was fantastic The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The surroundings and ease of booking activities

The drink costs were exceptionally high, ie 1 can coke 33MR compared to the local restaurants just across the water which were 3MR. The transfer costs to and from where misleading suggesing the total cost via email then changing on arrival meing we had to pay our return separately. I suggest saving money and time by booking your own transfers if traveling from Kuala Lumpur.

Location: bungalow in the jungle. Nice plants, trees on the resort´s area. And monkeys. Friendly and helpfull staff: planning activities, in the restaurant, helping in the bungalow, moving luggage around, ... We had a very early check-in and the wonderfull staff could arrange a bungalow for us.

We were 2 adults and 2 children: the total price for 1 bungalow, breakfast and dinner we believed was on the expensive side. As a comparison: a 5 star hotel with frontal view on Petronas Towers was 30% cheaper (excluding dinner) for us. I understand the exclusivity to stay in a national park (and the ability to be allowed to drink alcohol for some) comes with a premium, still I do believe the price is too high. That´s the reason we also stayed a few days in a guest house on the other side of the river and not the full period in the resort.

I had been wanting to stay here for years after visiting as a guide in the past. My stay didn’t disappoint, the only accommodation in the actual national park is a little aged but great. We loved the food, friendly staff, location and the setting. My recommendation is to go half board the food was l really tasty, good quality and enough to go round (even for a fussy 7 year old).

To be honest this is one of those places where it is what you make it, yes it’s older but you’re living in a rainforest.

Mutiara Taman Negara is a wonderful jungle hideaway that manages to combine authenticity with relatively comfortable accomodation, surprisingly good food, and excellent service on all levels. They have managed to find a balance between respecting their unique environment and catering to tourists; all activities takev into consideration the uniqueness of the location and are done by local, knowledgeable guides. I hope they can maintain this balance in the future. Tip: however way you travel, it takes some time to get to Taman Negara so a stay of two days is a minimum, three is ideal.

As most resorts, Mutiara Taman Negara still uses old-fashioned, noisy maintenance tools and machines which are, when in use, disruptive for the peace and quiet that this location has to offer. Replacing these by quieter, electric alternatives would be a good idea.

What an amazing location. It seems daunting on the map but it is very simple once you get to Kuala Tahan. You need cash for things outside the Mutiara Resort to make life easy with the boats. The resort itself is spectacular and brilliant value for money for where it is. You don’t need a guide for the close walks but if you are nervous then it might be easier to do that. We booked the boat to Lata Berkoh and it was wonderful.

The evening food is plentiful but not to a high quality. You can order separately off the menu even if you’ve paid half board.

The location is great, the resort is in the National Park across the river from Kuala Tahan. There are various trails that start from the resort and can be explored independently. The resort also offers activities, although we did not try it. The staff is helpful and friendly. Food at Seri Mutiara restaurant is okay. There is a clinic at Kuala Tahan across the river. There is a trolley to bring the luggage up from the jetty to the resort.

Resort is not ideal for people with mobility issues as there are stairs from the jetty to the resort. Some of the rooms farther away are not as well maintained.

It’s just amazing, i’ve been there 11 years ago and decided to go back there and I see many things have definitely improved. The room was beautiful, the vegetation around the resort is so well preserved. Just staying at a resort like this, it’s an experience itself. I definitely recommend it. Wild animals everywhere, consider this resort is the only one literally inside the rainforest and it’s amazing. They offer a bunch of cool activities to do during the stay.
