Well, I expected this place to be clean, remote from Male, meaning more beautiful and I am happy I made a choice and came here. Absolutely beautiful. I booked full board and I don’t regret it. I had a good appetite during my holiday. The hotel times shifts to +1 hr, so prepare to not miss any of the meals. Breakfast 7:45-10:15, lunch 13:00-14:30 and dinner 20:00-21:30. There is plenty to choose from, vegetables and fruits, every dinner and lunch variety of fish and meat. For breakfast you can ask eggs and pancakes to be prepared. I really liked that it was not many people in hotel and it felt very cool. Sunbeds on the beach, take any. I had a double room with patio and I just had the one closest to the beach. Perfect! Bins for plastic and paper everywhere on the territory. I saw someone complained of going to the bar and get a drink, I thought that would be a problem but in reality it wasn’t. We could give the order and drinks were delivered. Anyways walking 2-3 minutes to the bar and to enjoy and view is never an issue. The area is in the forest so there are lots of trees and palm trees. I felt similar like in Bali in Ubud. Water is provided in the room, tea and coffee sachets. There are plenty of excursions provided by diving center, choose and go. I liked that hotel provided 2 times a week a complimentary snorkelling trip. Yoga in the morning is also free and you just need to make an effort to wake up) I didn’t really use a swimming pool as I was more attracted to the ocean but pool is nice. There is no alcohol as it is not allowed but there is a little boat with boat bar and you can go there in the evening at 18:00 and 21:30 and enjoy a drink or two or three. I also used laundry facilities.

First I need to say these things which I am going to say are not bad just some things you need to consider. Pay only in dollars. Dollar note starting from 2006 and younger. Not cut, not folded and would be perfect to take fresh notes. Male bank is very strict so hotel depends entirely on that. Gym has few bikes, treadmills 2 and two benches and some weights. If you a gym shark prepare for that. And I believe it is good because some hotels of the same price don’t have anything at all. In the room there is no amenities like shower gel and et cetra. Only soap. I had mine anyways so I didn’t suffer ahah

Amazing location on a perfect white beach, with lovely swimming in the sea. The resort is attractive and well run - mostly German/Swiss/Italian clientele. Staff are friendly. Very good snorkelling and manta excursions. Delicious buffet dinners. Good yoga classes. Very impressive checkout: they sent baggage ahead to airport and obtained boarding passes for us before we'd even left the hotel.

Some niggles, which should be better at this price point: - Poor selection at breakfast buffet - Extra charge (approx 15USD per day) for snorkelling equipment on top of expensive snorkelling trip - to rent their equipment for a week would cost more than to buy it new, so bring your own - No iron available to guests - Uncomfortably hard beds - Most of the gym equipment didn't work NB The hotel will not accept Maldivian currency. I was told by the hotel rep in Malé to change money before flying to the island, which I then couldn't use! Pretty scandalous really.

Everything, nice rooms, nice surrounding, lectures in the evening, possibility to buy different excursions

The only thing I wished was different was the dinner serving time. 8 p.m. was to late for me and my friend. If it was change to start at 7 p.m. it would be perfect.

I enjoyed my stay at Barefoot a lot, most of the time I was barefoot in fact. The room was beautiful, overlooking the sea. I loved the yoga practice in the mornings and there was a great selection of food in the buffet table, even for a vegetarian. The beach is absolutely beautiful, very relaxing holiday. I took part in several excursions and the guides always did their best that we would have a fantastic experience!

I can't emphasize enough how professional the staff were - all of them. They took care of every little detail and made my vacation perfect. This is the kind of place you go if you want to disconnect and take a break... sure, they have plenty of activities, but in the end it's very remote and quiet, which is exactly what I was looking for. The beachfront room was wonderful... the beach itself is spectacular, the food was varied and plentiful and delicious (I already miss it). Special mention to Deepak and Rana (the cooks/food servers), and especially to Sozib who was the only staff member who took the time to learn my name, and to greet me with a genuine smile and a quick chat every single day.

I didn't bring cash with me, and (embarrassingly) had no way of tipping staff. I enquired at reception if there was some way to do it via card, but I was told that it was not possible. It would be nice if they could offer this possibility as the staff definitely deserve some gratitude.
