Location and rooms were great. The hotel is pretty and although it's close to the center, it was quiet at night. We were on the top floor and even had a bit of a view of the cathedral.

The hot water took about 30 minutes to come on. Having to wait that long for a shower is really inconvenient and leaving the tap on that long is a huge waste of water. Tapalpa is cold - hot water for guests should be a huge priority. The full bed mattress was pretty hard, so I didn't sleep that well. Wifi didn't reach our room.

Lovely plants on the property. Friendly helpful staff. Sitting area and table and chairs in the suite we’re great.

The floors were freezing cold. For this time of the year, rugs or space heaters would have helped a lot. No drinking water in the room or coffee maker, dishes, etc.

This is a cute little place less than 5 minutes walk to the main plaza for the village. My favorite aspect was the extremely comfortable king sized bed. There was a nice interior space though it was a little smaller than it appears in the pictures. There were reading lamps next to the bed and plugs on either side. The WiFi worked in the rooms, and they sometimes provided purified water.

Whatever cleaning products they used left an astringent smell like strong perfume, and it irritated my nasal passages, something I don't typically have a problem with. I would recommend less fragrant cleaning supplies. It seemed a little expensive for a small Mexican town, but I guess it is standard for the location.
