Would 100% come back and stay here next time we're in Oaxaca! Conveniently located right across the street from the grocery store and only 15-20 minute walk (which was flat and beautiful) in to the center of town. The breakfasts were absolutely incredible-- fresh fruit with honey and granola and local pastries to start, then a selection of 2 rotating breakfast options-- all were fabulous-- with coffee and orange juice. Room was a little small but perfect for us-- the bathroom was spacious. Staff were AMAZING-- so helpful and accommodating.

The water took a while to heat up in the shower, but that's no big deal!

This hotel was a spectacular Oaxaqueño oasis in the almost very center of Oaxaca. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but then when you step in, it's a terrarium of Oaxaca's characteristic beauty and details that were the main reason I wanted to spend some of my honeymoon in Oaxaca. The staff are so attentive and friendly and the breakfast was always what we looked forward to in the morning. Right outside of the room, you can enjoy a delicious homecooked breakfast that keeps you full until the afternoon. The staff made it extra special for us also because it was our honeymoon <3 we really appreciated that and we are telling all of our friends to stay at Ayook if they ever go to Oaxaca. Thank you for your amazing and memorable hospitality.

The only thing that we would have improved was the water pressure and the warm water in the shower. I think this is common throughout Mexico though so we really didn't mind. It was hot enough outside to enjoy room temperature showers anyways!

The staff was very pleasant, always available and ready to assist. The kitchen and housekeeping staff were friendly, and provided excellent service. Breakfast was promptly served when we sat down, and was good with fresh OJ, fruit, rolls, coffee and a variety of hot choices that varied every day. The hotel is nicely appointed, quiet and comfortable. The room had a functioning climate control device (AC) that worked well, though somewhat noisy. The bathroom was adequate.. cleaned daily. The only complaint is that water pressure is low and the wait for water to become hot for shower is surprising long, though with time there was plenty of hot water.

The location is a short walk from the Centro..( 5-10 min) on a busy, noisy, and somewhat exhaust-laden street. Once inside the door all that is blocked out and it is quiet and comfortable inside. Overall we felt the location was good.

Rooms are a bit noisy and windows open into courtyard. The rooms can get a bit stuffy and the locks on the doors take a bit to perfect in unlocking. All in all a lovely place though l, with earplugs (I never travel without) and strategic airing of the room all good!! It's a bit of a walk (10-15mins) into the main centre, but criollo is a beautiful restaurant around the corner and plenty of other things close by.

If not very far from it, it is on the outskirts of the city center, facing a busy avenue. If staying in the ground floor the rooms face the courtyard, thus if you want privacy, you won’t open the windows, so the room won’t get natural light, but we didn’t mind!

We had a wonderful stay at Ayook. Very close to the centre of Oaxaca, within walking distance from all the main points. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and very clean facilities. The hotel has a traditional, stylish, and at the same time modern vibe. While it’s on a busy street, the moment you enter the hotel you find yourself in the serene patio where you can enjoy a coffee or read a book outside of your room. The only recommendation to the management would be to consider having a mini fridge in the room.

Very nice stay! The breakfast is delicious and filling, and served by very kind staff. Great location, close to the centre.

Despite being pretty, the wooden window and door have a very poor sound isolation, and in the morning it is almost impossible not to wake up when other people walk by or have breakfast. Overall clean room, but it seemed like the floors had not been mopped (black feet after a few minutes walking bare foot on the first day).

Beautiful hotel. Every day we looked forward to coming back to the hotel to unwind and hang out. The little connected cafe was great and we ordered from there multiple times as well. The staff was always available and helped us with any questions we had. The breakfast was also amazing and the servers were so attentive and kind.

The hotel is located on a busy street but upon entering the door, you are transported into an oasis of calm. The aesthetic of the hotel is lovely with natural and earthy tones. We enjoyed the terrace upstairs with the hammocks to relax in and there is an area where you can help yourself to tea/coffee if you would like. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay, with a curated menu each day with two options with the opportunity to eat local food, but there is also the option of having yogurt and granola instead, along with all the fruit, tea/coffee, orange juice and pastries. When we had to leave early for a tour one day, they prepared a packed breakfast for us to start our day. The room was small but comfortable with air-conditioning which was appreciated as it was very hot during our stay. They provided drinking water in our room every day and were able to ask for more when we ran out. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the centre down one main road, so it was very easy to navigate there. It is close to the square with the nieves (Oaxacan ice creams), so a nice treat to have on the walk back each night. We had a great stay and didn't want to leave!

The bathroom design is in stark constrast the the rest of the room and hotel with it's red and white colouring, but was fine. The shower could do with an upgrade, as it took 5 minutes for the hot water to come on and the pressure was not the greatest. There are seperate taps for hot and cold, so some care with balancing between the two was needed.
