Would definitely return. The AC is the best I ever had; it cooled my room without a noise and without me feeling it blowing at all. Note that the beach is NOT swimmable: it’s dangerous. The pool is refreshing and very clean. However there are many small details of improvement, that a 4 star hotel should have, hence the slightly lowered rating; The bed looks so luxurious but is soooo hard…I had neck pain every day. A Wellpur-mattress topper would have fixed this, and better quality pillows. The wifi is quite weak in the room. The room lacks some amenities for women(hair conditioner, hair dryer). The shower was never hot, i thought this is normal in the area but afterwards i checked into a low standard house where i had hot water. Some electrical plugs/lamps were not working. A ”do not disturb” sign is missing in the room, it could be a small rope and sign to close from the main stairs towards the terrace. The cleaning team and the bar waiter are respectful and hardworking and excellent. But apart from them there are a lot of different staff all the time walking around the pool, bar, stairs next to my room, which makes me less comfortable in my clothing optional paradise. I also noted most guests were not nude, I was the only one, but I stayed in the semi-privacy of my terrace mostly. Regardless of all these suggestions and notes, I loved my stay, it was excellently clean including the outdoor furniture. I loved the decor all over the main areas, and the view and paintings and iguanas and the sound of the sea. And of course the wonderful welcoming by receptionist Max, Tak!

We stayed in Villa Aikia for 4 night and we loved every moment. The Villa itself is beautifully located, a short walk away from the busy beaches. So it's really quiet. The view from our Suite with terrace was stunning. The pool is big and super nice, breakfast very delicious with a wide choice of dishes. But the best is the team. Max is the manager, he was always there and more than friendly and helpful. Thank you all so much for a wonderful time! We will definitely come back to beautiful Zipolite (!!!!!!) and will stay definitely at Villa Aikia. Highly recommended!

The property is quiet and secluded nestled up on top of a hill giving it stunning sea views. While the hotel is atop the hill, it is still close enough to the town and all the action. My partner and I loved the quietness and privacy that the hotel offered. Having the restaurant/bar right off the pool and easy access to the beach from the hotel, you never have to leave the property during the day. We also loved how the pool was he heart of the property and all the rooms were basically right off the pool. The property was clothing optional for those who chose to partake and it made for a comfortable atmosphere. We were very happy with our comfortable terrace room. It was a large in size, had a very comfortable bed and air conditioning. We felt the room to be very private and quiet. The room was very clean and tended to daily by the delightful Pablo, who was so caring and welcoming.
Even with my next comments, my partner and I are planning to come back to this property, only next time for a longer stay! Our room did not have a proper door to the bathroom, it was just a sliding glass door, which does not give you significant privacy while in the bathroom. Couples, whether new or together for a while or even on their honeymoon need and deserve a bit more privacy whist using the bathroom facilities. Our lovely terrace doors, should have been able to open completely to allow the beautiful sea air and breeze in, however they did not open. The water pressure and temperature were inconsistent, but I believe that to be all of Zipolite and other parts of Mexico we have stayed, so I don’t think that is solely related to this property. The Wi-Fi was also inconsistent.

Everything we wanted to experience just got better. We were returning to Zipolite for our 7th time and have stayed in many different places with varying styles and comforts. Villa Aikia took it to another level. Big shout out to the entire team there - especially Pablo and Francisca who kept our spaces immaculate and brightened each of our days. The whole experience was fabulous.
This property is not for everyone- we are an athletic couple who enjoyed doing the multiple sets of stairs to get up the hill to the property every day- even doing them two to three times. Car 🚗 services are available but would still require dexterity on stairs once you are at the hotel. Stairs create lift and unparalleled views here of all the surroundings and magnificent Roca Blanca.

The views were amazing! We had one of the rooms with the private pool and large deck that overlooked the ocean. I don’t recall the name of the lady who cleaned our room but she did an exceptional job of making sure that our room was clean and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating especially Max, Daniel and Sebastian. The staff went out of their way to help arrange tours and provided us with great information to make our adventures memorable and they always checked in to see if everything was to our liking. The food and drink was very good albeit a small menu.
What we didn’t like is that we can’t return whenever we want! Unfortunately the restaurant was not open in the evening and that would have been nice especially given the location and views but given that it is a small hotel we understand that it is hard to keep staff working at all times. We still found good places to eat near by and it did not inconvenience us.

Everything was great! I liked that we had our “own” little beach and then we still had a chose to go to the main beach which was just 5-10 min away walking. In general, they made a very nice, relaxing atmosphere down there with a nice swimming pool as well. Sleeping quality was great! The bed was super comfortable! Also very quite during the night.
I didn’t like two things there: 1. WiFi connection was super bad! I know, you may say that why would you need internet in Zipolite? But that is a wrong approach. Some people, even on holiday need to do some business, so not only hippies or backpackers are coming there. Also, it seems that in other places (e.g. al'alchimiste) WiFi was just perfect. So I think this is a problem with this specific place. 2. Cocktails were mainly water with sugar. Quite disappointing, as it would had been nice to enjoy late evening by the pool with a drink. But Paying $150 for water was not good. My advise to the management would be: if you want to make more money on drinks, make the cocktails stronger. This way you will boost your sales. also, drunk people tend to spend more :)

This place is a gem! The view is stunning, the staff are lovely, and the food is probably the best in town. We stayed during low season and were able to upgrade our room to a gorgeous suite for free. It’s only about a 10 minute walk into the main part of town (albeit involving a serious set of stairs) but we honestly mostly hung out at the hotel because the pool and view were so nice.
Not a knock against the property, we just didn’t realize that it was clothing optional (we were prepared for nude beaches in town, but a little surprised to see the same at the hotel). It wasn’t a problem, just want others to be fully aware :)

MAX was the best !! And the two guys at the restaurant/bar. 1) Max upgraded our room which was amazing! This was our first time traveling to mexico / zipolite together and we had the best time - so much so that we actually extended our stay here by a couple days 2) The guys at the bar restaurant were incredible, so nice, so welcoming and we felt like we were at home there! Food was great, so were the drinks. 3) WE loved the little, uncrowded beach that was footsteps from our room - and we loved not being in the main zipolite bach part but it was only a ten minute walk through really cool path/trail with fun hidden restaurants and bars along the way. we LOVED the location. AMAZING time , loved the location and our own little beach
sometimes the meals took a while to serve but all good!

This property has stunning views. The rooms are exceptionally large. The rooms have air conditioning. The rooms are very well appointed. The property has a great swimming pool. The property has a full dining service, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves cocktails throughout the day. This property is also clothing optional. This is one of the few properties that has a boiler to generate hot water. We would definitely book this property again over the other gay and clothing optional hotel offerings.
The property requires a good hike up the mountain at the far end of the Zipolite bay totally opposite from Playa de Amor. It is a good 2 KM to walk from Villa Aikia to Playa de Amor. It's good exercise. With the extreme heat in early May, we had to take a taxi at times. The hot water comes and goes. Often it's not needed with the Zipolite heat, however, we are not fans of cold showers, no matter how hot it is outside. That is Zipolite life and you simply have to buck it up for everything else that is wonderful at the Villa Aikia.

We were returning customers and this was our second stay at this property. We had very comfortable and relaxing eight nights at this hotel. The staff was fantastic, especially the room caretaker Pablo, who went above an beyond his tasks (I hope the name is correct). Also, he had perhaps the best English out of everyone there. It is worth considering dining there, because the food quality in the hotel restaurant is one of the best in Zipolite. WiFi quality has improved since our last stay, but unfortunately it was still not great. I can definitely recommend this hotel.
