Recommended by a doctor colleague as the cleanest and best available hotel in Lumbini, Hotel Ananda Inn exceeded all expectations. With close and convenient access to the Maya Devi Temple, it offers not only comfort, but heartfelt hospitality and a rare, spiritual proximity. Kamala at reception brought charm and warmth to the property, while manager Ushan Shilpakar was endlessly gracious. Ramu and Madan at Maitri — the café and restaurant next door — ensured I was consistently well cared for. Clean rooms, a guest-focused energy, and a location that surpasses London, Manhattan, or LA. We visited this hotel for one night during the terrible rain that led the floods in late September 2024. As a result we spent a lot of time in the hotel and felt very much at home! The food in the restaurant was really nice, and the staff treated us like family. Komala in reception was exceptionally helpful, organising a taxi for us to leave to another town the day after and making sure he knew to drive safely in the rain. She even told us to call her after we left if there were problems. The room was cosy and clean and had everything we needed. The location was just what we wanted, next to an entrance to the park and close to the maya devi temple. We really felt safe there during a scary time so thank you so much!

The electricity kept cutting out but that wasn’t the fault of the hotel it was exceptionally bad because of the storm

The staff is absolutely marvellous. They are helpful and helped arrange my private car hire to go to the destinations i wanted to visit. Also arranged for my bus ticket to Pokhara. The food was simple but tasty. My favourite was the hot lemon juice with ginger and honey. Haven’t tasted any better anywhere. The location is excellent if you want to go to lumbini. Quiet street. The walled garden is a beautiful and calm place to relax. You need mosquito repellent though.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed staying here for that reason. I felt really at home here! The room was comfortable, fresh, and clean. The location is really the best! It is so easy to just walk into the park with all the temples. The entrance is just in front of the hotel area and it takes just 10 minutes walking to reach the Maya Devi temple. The restaurant is well decorated and it is definitely the cleanest and best restaurant space to be in. The service in the restaurant is great. I enjoyed iced coffees. The pasta bolognese was very good and on my request meat and vegetables were mixed.

I would just say there is room for improvement in the meals. Given that my family is from Indonesia, the nasi goreng was disappointing (burned rice and lack of spices).

Our stay in Lumbini was wonderful, the staff was very friendly, the food was delicious. The reception staff was exceptional, Milky help us with finding medication we needed and made sure our stay was very comfortable and we felt very welcomed. The little courtyard is beautiful. The room was lovely.

My only little thing was the restaurant staff were a little slow, with making coffees, and bringing out the food. But it was all worth the wait.

Excellent location right at gate 5. Friendly kind helpful personable staff.

Food was inconsistent. Seemed to depend on if there was a tour group staying at the hotel. Coffee choices were fancy espresso machine or powdered instant --no basic brewed. Curries or thali needed 45 min to prepare. I understand why but still it was easier to go out to the street.

Very good location and good hotel, clean, good wifi and nice reataurant

Behaviour of the staff is far below Nepal standards. They are not friendly or respectfull enough. Not so much interested in guests. They don't change their sitting comfort when a guest goes in to hotel ! Do not care needs of guests, they just say this is the rule and ingore the rest. A person who is far away from home and in a different culture needs a bit more carefull approach ! Also rooms are air conditioned but they need maintenance and cleaning.

The location is simply great. You can reach the main attraction, the Maya Devi Temple in 5 minutes on foot. Just go straight from the street where the hotel is to Lumbini Garden. Otherwise everything like restaurants are nearby. And it's quiet at night. The staff are all very relaxed, very polite and friendly.

The garden doesn't look like in the photos. They didn't clean the room during the stays. But the price is good.

The property is across the street from the temple complex. The hotel has everything I needed. I did walk around the town, but ended up using the hotel for food and drinks. The staff spoke a little English, so I was very thankful for that. The manager answered many of my questions and was very helpful.

I was happy with my experience there.

Prompt response to pre travel queries was extremely helpful for my trip planning. Their moto is along the lines of customer satisfaction and the friendly, helpful staff live up to this. The location is excellent - across the road from an entry gate to the Maya Devi temple. My room was tidy and comfortable.

There is nothing to not like about Hotel Ananda.
