Very friendly staff, super location, breakfast was great. Staff very accommodating for our bikes. Many thanks for everything. There is a cinema on site!

We had a room on the ground floor. There was no door between toilet and bedroom. I understand that this was a former prison cell but a little privacy would have helped. It was not possible to open the window either. This was challenging even for a longtime married couple like us.

Really enjoyed the waterline view also there’s a lift. The room was clean, no smells, fresh bed linen. I also thought breakfast was very good.

However, I think there could have been more toiletries (so far spotted only liquid soap and shower gel). I also think the hotel staff could pay more attention to the fact that there are quite a few spiders in the rooms (5 in my room) so they could look out for spider webs better.

I liked the idea of a repurposed building and staying in a prison on holiday …. Unfortunately I was shown an amazing room in ground level with prison doors all the works then told this wasn’t our room …… damn😂😂😂

Quirky hotel. Excellent breakfadt. Fantastic location. Would stay here again.

We had a room in the roof and it was very hot. Had to have the window open, which was a velux window, and meant that when it rained, we either had to put up with raindrops or swelter. Also had twin beds, which were not very wide.

This cozy little room was perfect for us as two cycling friends. The room was very clean, with two single beds. One of our favourite features was having a rooftop window that allowed the room to cool very quickly and provided some fresh cool air. The very friendly staff were a delight and provided us with some good information of the area.

The bike storage was not ideal but certainly not doable.

A quirky hotel in a fab location, within a beautiful old town. The staff couldn’t be happier to help. The breakfast and indeed the restaurant was lovely. The room we had had a quirky layout and brilliant view over the adjacent tourist canal boat dock. We arrived on the 3rd Saturday of July, to find that there was a brilliantly entertaining wine festival in a nearby park, which was free to enter.

The car parking was a little confusing, as it’s sited slightly remote from the hotel, behind a security barrier, with an intercom that didn’t work.

Great location, easy parking. The hotel itself is very quirky(former prison) but it’s been converted sympathetically to retain many original features. Rooms not big but comfy. Nice breakfast.

Local tourist tax not as described by booking.com….much more expensive

Staff very friendly and helpful . Hoorn is a beautiful place - rich in history and plenty of places to eat and explore. If shopping is your thing then their high street is a must. Anyone we came into contact with was friendly. We will definitely come again in warmer months . The hotel is right by the harbour so the views are beautiful. Car parking is secure.

Excellent location - right by the sea and port, but quiet at nights. Excellent breakfast and also did evening meals which looked good but we didn't eat there. Very comfy beds, good bedding and best shower we had on our travels

Poor WiFi - we couldn't get it in our bedroom, only in the sitting cafe area No undercover storage for our bicycles.

This is just a perfect hotel overlooking the harbour. The rooms are small like cruise ship cabins but very well designed and comfortable. The breakfast and service in the restaurant is excellent.

There wasn't anything to dislike during my one night stop over.
