We are very satisfied with our stay at Murchison. We went there in May during the autumn season so it was not very crowded. We pleasantly got upgraded from a Superior Deluxe Double to a way more spacious Family Room! We were super happy with the upgrade as we were travelling with a toddler. Having a separate room to let him sleep while still being able to do our own things outside the room is very convenient. The owners were also very friendly and kind. They gave us a bottle of milk upon arrival and gave us tips of activities around the area. Murchison actually surprised us with lots of nice walking/hiking options. The city itself was also very peaceful and pretty.

The owner was very friendly. It was a spacious suite. There were luggage racks in each room. The kids got exclusive use of the living room TV while the adults had a wall hung TV in a comfortable centred position opposite the bed. We all had very comfortable sleeps. The bathroom was really nice, clean, modern and spacious. It's definitely one of the nicer places we've stayed.

We had spent the day at Hanmer Springs so had wet swimsuits but there was no clothes airer to hang them out on.

Easy to locate the property. When arriving the hotel reception was lovely and engaged in conversation regarding our stay and our trip in NZ. The car park is huge, easy to park and get luggage in and out of the car. The room we were given (unit 16) was amazing, massive 2 bedroom unit. The bedrooms were spacious, the bathroom had the biggest shower I have experienced in a hotel with enough draw space. Once we left this property, we wish we had stayed longer!

- There was a back sliding door to our apartment although when opening we were hoping for table and chairs, there was nothing out there. Was still nice to open for fresh air. - Paying for the laundry facilities. Although, in saying that, our washing was washed and dried within an hour and a half. Super quick.

Lovely new units in a great location being only a short stroll to town. The design appears to be well thought out with only a couple of issues eg the shower slider being design over function (I tightened up the fitting on the hose as the water was coming out at all the wrong spots. Maybe some plumbers tape in the threads would tighten the fittings). Would definitely stay again. It appeared to me that the designers took sound into consideration in the design eg vehicle entrance from the side road. Great to see good design.

Thought the area used to store luggage should not have been carpeted for health reasons. Next doors bathroom fan went all night only stopping at 8am or so. The reason is it is on a delay for the bathroom light and if you leave the light on, the fan goes on and on. Ideally it should have a time out or cut out function so that others don't have their sleep distributed all night by the next unit over. Please unit that the units are very well soundproofed from sound coming other units, but this appears to be an oversight. On reflection closing our bathroom window may of reduced the sound but I think some of the sound came through the ceiling.

Oh my gosh what an amazing motel. Five star plus. Reception staff/ owners very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds. In fact everything you would need. Heated tile floors in bathroom/ kitchen , espresso machine , well equipped kitchen. All of this for a very reasonable price.

This motel was a diamond in this tiny town. It was very comfortable, the bed was firm which is how we like it, amazing water pressure and beautifully decorated. We used this as a stopover on our way from Picton to Christchurch as we travel through the South Island. The gentleman that checked us in and out was very friendly and informative.

Stayed in Feb for a wedding. Facilities were great but the management were the best part. They went over and above to accommodate last minute changes and kindly allowed us extra time in the room to spend time with family on the last day. The rest of the staff we encountered were super friendly also. Excellent service

Modern, secure, new motel with everything you need for your stay. Very comfortable bed and great shower. Set off the street so no traffic noise from trucks/cars passing through Murchison. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Unfortunately it rained for the length of my stay so I didn't get a chance to enjoy the courtyard outside. Very handy to local FourSquare mini supermarket.

Absolutely awesome place to stay. I would highly recommend staying here. You are greeted with a smile 😀 and nothing is a problem. Sorry I don’t remember their names but they are fantastic. Beautiful unit very very comfortable and extremely well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. THANK YOU

There wasn't any breakfast provided. But you could get microwaveable meals at the reception area a a cost. There were many local breakfast opportunities.

It was hard to fault it. It exceeded our expectations. But if we were to mention something, the shower room had a tiny bit of mould in the grout. Would love to stay again.
