We booked this very last minute, to break up our journey from Kaiteri down to Christchurch as we were also spending the next day in Hanmer. We were welcomed and greeted very warmly and directed to our really clean comfortable and spacious family suite. The whole site is very well kept, quiet and set in a beautiful location with animals and birds all around. Playground for the children. Takeaways down the road for dinner. A great spot for a stopover or if you have time, to spend a couple of nights to add in spending a day in Murchison to add in some of the touristy things to do in the area. :)

We were very happy with the cleanliness of the facilities and friendliness of the staff. We had everything we needed to stay warm and had a good night’s sleep. It was very wet and cold in Murchison so I would’ve preferred a more tropical atmosphere for romance. The warmth in the locals welcome and helpfulness was genuine though.

Perhaps a fire in a lounge somewhere?

Quaint little cottage with all the necessary amenities, set in a quiet rural setting. I loved waking up to chickens in the morning and the kids loved the animals. The beds were extremely comfortable.

While the shower was amazing, the shower head wasn’t adjustable and the spray went wide, making the floor very wet.

It was decent for a stay for one night on the road trip, which is what we wanted. The car could be parked right in front of the room.

To get to the bathroom we had to go around the building, which was a bit cold at night. Also there was no light outside to avoid bugs, but this made it more difficult to find the way in the dark.

We were welcomed by two friendly people at reception, the animals on site were well behaved and quiet. Very quite location less than a kilometer from town centre. we felt very safe.

Pillows were very soft, one roll of toilet paper for 3 people during our 3 day stay, vacuum needed, fridge need a clean

all the facilities were clean and well-planned and well-fitted-out I loved the sheep and chickens just over the fence the grounds were well-kept

the door on my cabin was misaligned which meant it was difficult to open and noisy - a problem for my neighbours as I always need to pee several times during the night (I stayed in cabin 4) the shower had no rack for soap etc and the shower room could have done with more hooks for towels and clothes

Car is able to park just right outside the unit which made it very convenient to take things in and out of the car. Bathroom and toilet is just next door. Kitchen is just at the back of our unit.

There are no condiments available in the kitchen for cooking. There is no over tray available for food baking.

Quiet location, loved your chickens, good pressure in the shower.

Daylight could be seen around the door - in the summer thats fine however would be a bit drafty in the Murchison Winter. The tall slender Oscilating fan was not good, take it out of the room altogether.

Owners were lovely, and incredibly apologetic and nice after realising we had upgraded but booking.com doubled booked. I would love to stay here again but would definitely book through the owner.

The hosts were very nice and helpful, beds were comfortable.

Only two bathrooms available where we were so had to wait a while for the toilet while other guests took a shower, but that was a minor discomfort. Not much to do in Murchison.
