The owners, the location and the place itself were lovely. It is near the center, but in a more quiet area at a maximum of 5 minutes walking distance away. The rooms were clean and the rooms overlook a nice cute little garden. It has a serene vibe and offers privacy.

Bed was a bit hard for my taste, but could imagine others loving this and the walls were thin so could hear my neighbors snoring haha. But still managed to have a nice and good sleep here.

Very central location and great value for money. Possibility of parking inside if you have a small car (ask beforehand) The room was basic but it did the job!

The cleanliness of the floor could be a bit improved but that’s no big deal!

Door closes at 10pm and you need to wake up the owner to get in

I arrived late in La Casa de Los Berrios after a very long journey and I was so happy to make it, the owner Marisa was kindly waiting for me. She is wonderful and makes you feel at home, so hospitable and easy going. The place has a great energy and the house itself has character, a colonial hacienda kind of architecture. It is green with all the plants around. My room was clean, cozy and it was just perfect value. Centrally located in a quiet street just 2 min walk from the main square. I loved it there and ended up extending my stay.

I got to León late at night from Honduras and the lady was up ready to check me in. The room was just what I needed. Everything was nice and clean. The wifi was good and I appreciated that they had free filtered water. Everyone was so nice. I was able to book my volcano sledding with the lady as well. It is in a great location as well. Everything was great for me. I would definitely stay here again.

The only small issue I had was they didn’t have any hot water. That would have made the place perfect. Maybe a shared kitchen would be nice as well. Or at least a fridge.

Only a few blocks away from the main plaza, the guesthouse is fine as affordable accommodation. Room and bathroom were very simple, but since there are many things to do in León, I wasn’t there much. I would stay again as a budget traveler. Nice host.

No access to refrigerator / no kitchen facilities. No key to front door provided, so the protocol is to message when returning back after 10pm. I felt bad always needing to wake up the host with a WhatsApp message when returning late from a late night (but she was nice about it)

The owner of this hostel is suuuuper friendly. She helped me out with a lot of things, gave me recommendations about Leon and even helped me when my tour operator didn't show up. The location is super close to the city center with the cathedral and a supermarkets - and also to a car rental agency. And the indoor courtyard was also very green and a perfect refuge during the heat and a place to socialize with other travelers :) I would definitely recommend this place to everyone coming for Leon!

The rooms could use some air conditioning as the temperatures in Leon were like 39°C during my stay but every room has at least a fan :)

When we arrived late because we were coming from Guatemala and there was such a downpour that the streets were flooded! But the next morning you would never know it happened, The hostess knew I was arriving late and I had obviously kept her up but she showed me the room and helped me with my stuff. Next day I could see how lovely her/their house was. Lots of foliage and garden.My bathroom was classic. It's close to Leon just a walk up the hill. I loved Leon actually and wish with hindsight I has spent a bit more time there.There were lots of museums I wanted to see.

I would have loved access to a kettle to make a cup of tea after the long day driving and the bed was a bit hard.

La Estación is a wonderful place to stay. Perfectly located within walking distance of Matagalpa, but also quiet, separate, and above the fray. Gemma goes out of her way to help in every regard—warm & welcoming & sincere. Explore the trails & plants nearby, walk into the city, or (highly recommended) take a tour with a local guide. As Agualí notes, best to arrive in Matagalpa well before dark—and during the rainy season, note that taxis may not be able to drive all the way up to the entrance—in which case, the walk is steep but very manageable. Senora Marytza and her husband welcomed me sincerely, provided any advice where I needed, They arranged the shuttle bus to Granada. They also arrange a laundry. Since there was a lot to see, I extended my stay from 3 to 5 nights. The hostal location is fantastic, just a few meters from the central zone. I loved a small, green garden in the middle of the hostal.

No possibility to use the kitchen and there was only 1 small dustbin for toilet paper in the bathroom. Hard to find where to place e.g cans or glass etc.
