We had a lovely room with an incredible view. Owners very friendly. This is a great place to stay if you are flying into Bergen but then headed north right away. You drive for a couple hours and then take a short ferry to Lavik which puts you on the north coast of Sognefjord. The breakfast costs us about $15 each - but was totally worth it! Very large selection and a lovely dining area to see the fjord. We stayed just the one overnight and then continued on to Balestrand.

Difficult to fill tea kettle. Couldn't sit down in a chair in the room and still see the fjord out window as they were very low chairs.

Highlight of the hotel is clearly the breathtaking view from the restaurant/bar. The food is also very good and can only be recommended (both breakfast and dinner). On our tour through the wider area we did not always meet great restaurants (often only cheapish pizza, beer etc.), so we were really happy to get such a good service in Lavik. The owners are very nice and are certainly a big part of this positive experience! Having seen the nice location, having experienced the service and having seen the rooms, we should have stayed longer at this hotel and enjoyed the moment. We will come back ...

I had a great stay, it started before arrival, where I was able to communicate my arrival time, even when my flight was delayed, which meant I was going to arrive close to midnight. The owner waited up for me, asked me for anything that i needed, including looking up my travel for the next day. He was super helpful! The next day I was able to grab a quick breakfast that was ready early for me as I had to leave early, and a to go tea! The view from my room was exceptional - I wish I could have stayed longer, just for the view!

The bathroom was smaller than I'd have liked. The room is fine for single occupancy. But all in all, I can't really complain.

WOW. The best place by now. We have been upgraded to the upper flour, the flat is no less then amazing, all the facielities you can handle and more, amazing balcony to the ocean and ferry, the flat is proffessional decerated, big windows to the sky all over, the owner is very welcoming and helped us with a water problen we had, beutiful family buissness he and his wife decorated the whole place with delicate and thoughtfull love to the travellers. Good for you and thanx!!!

The proprietor was a wonderful host, so helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for our needs, just a brief overnight stay. Our room was large and spotless. It was south-facing with huge windows onto the water. Our dinner was simple but very well-prepared and delicious!

I would’ve preferred a little more ventilation from the windows. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable for my needs.

Nicely maintained with a fantastic view overlooking the Sognefjord. Restaurant offered good food, both for dinner and breakfast. Rooms were of decent size.

Directly adjacent and above a major ferry terminal with departures every 20m. Kind of busy. Interesting to watch for a short while but kind of an eyesore thereafter. One really could not look away and not see it.

Everybody in this hotel has a very friendly approach, breakfast is just great. The hotel is very close to the ferry terminal, therefore convenient to reach and when you have a drink or dinner on the terrace with view on the fjord you start to plan your next trip to Norway.

During the night there is some noice from the ferry terminal, but it isn’t really disturbing.

A great spot to stop from Bergen, we stayed two nights and took the passenger ferry to Balestrand for the day. Well equipped apartment, absolutely spotless and new. Washing machine and a dryer, making it easy to catch up on washing too. Great view and 5 minutes walk from the ferry and supermarket.

Clean, comfortable beds. Warm room. Easy loading and unloading luggage (same floor). Dinner really good. Very near ferry but no noise from that.

Not fault of property but town has very few facilities and electric charger at nearby service station did not work for my hire car (I probably didn’t know what I was doing!)

We loved the hotel. It was very nice; we have the room with a balcony and Fforde view and a very spacious room. The hotel environment was good. The public places are comfortable, quiet, and have the same board games to pass the time. We recommend it as a place to stay. The breakfast, that we needed to pay for was good.

There is nothing special to comment on. I think that the breakfast was a little expensive, but nothing more.
