Our stay at the Narvik Hotel Wivel was nothing short of outstanding. To begin with, the staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and always accommodate any need you may have. The “budget” room we stayed in certainly not as it sounds. The room was very spacious, very clean with a smart TV and a bathroom. Every morning from 7-10 we were served a breakfast which included something for everybody. If the amazing buffet they provided isn’t enough, you can also order food from the kitchen for free from some menu items. (Definitely recommend the hot chocolate) . The location is also based in a very good area as it is surrounded by convenience stores, shopping centres, restaurants as well as a short distance from the ski resort.
Everything was perfect

I literally needed only a place to sleep for a few hours before going to Evenes so I haven't experienced much of what this hotel has to offer, to be honest. It looked very nice, though - complimentary tea, coffee and lemonade in the lobby, available parking (albeit you need to pay for it) and the room was great: big curtains, small but functional bathroom, quality amenities, desk, television and two armchairs. The bed was comfy with a pillow that wasn't one of the usual paper thin ones you'd get in an hotel. WiFi worked great too! Considering the price paid I think it's a solid deal - no idea if the location is good or not though, again I just wanted a place to sleep and park for a flight in the early morning, so I haven't considered this to visit Narvik or anything. Staff was super nice though!
Parking should be free in my opinion, as otherwise there's paid parking all around. But I cannot say, I didn't stay enough to have an informed opinion here.

This little hotel is positioned along the main road right opposite to the war museum and is a refreshing alternative to the few other big posing regular brands in town. Location doesn't really matter since Narvik is a tiny and insignificant place. Bus stop to main locations and airport is just a few meters away. The standard was simple but practical and sufficient. Nice comfortable bed. The breakfast was a surprise. At first glance it didn't look like much, but the secret was in the details. A lot of small stuff to choose from, some warm food prepared on demand. I was particularly impressed by the dark round bread the supplied fresh out of the oven every day. Together with the homemade butter a winning combination! No disturbing background music, welcoming calm atmosphere. Due to the smaller scale of the business it also was not crowded and there was no queue or battle at the buffet like you have to expect at the big hotels. TV was good, quick and responsive menu. The blends/curtains are, when closed, really keeping the daylight out. Sockets also beside the bed to charge your equipment. Good heating in the room. The stuff is helpful and most of them seem to come from the Ukraine? But if you speak English communication is no problem. The place is being renovated at the moment, I guess there might be some noise during the week? During my weekend it was quiet.
There are not really a lot of TV programs to choose from, only Nordic channels. I missed the international ones. The window front is towards the main road, it was not loud, but some traffic noise was always present. The staff definitely have deserved their breaks, but it is unfortunate that they use to spend them smoking around the corner at the entrance. Not nice to pass through their smoke. And of cause its bad for them too. The breakfast needs better coffee options. The supply was often lukewarm, especially when you use to take it with milk. Only available milk option is the ubiquitous Norwegian skimmed milk which, in my opinion, tastes like shit. Narvik: If you don't have any official business or friends in this place and you're not a skiing nerd - don't bother to go there...

Hotel Wivel is located in central Narvik just a block from the war museum. If you're arriving by bus from Tromso, the nearest bus stop is less than a kilometer from the hotel. I stayed in a single room that was good-sized and had a TV and good Wi-Fi. The breakfast served every morning is sufficient with plenty of options available. If you want a budget (by Norwegian standards) hotel in the center of Narvik with easy access to the city's restaurants and bars, then Hotel Wivel is a good option.

I had a nice stay at Narvik Hotel Wivel. The best part of the stay was breakfast, a very nice breakfast buffet with a selection of a wide variety of foods also including local elements. The staff were kind and helpful. There was always tea and coffee available for free in the lobby. There was a nice restaurant on the hotel's lowest floor; trying it is highly recommended. I had a nice view to the city during the 24h light time in Narvik and it was amazing to look at the city and nearby landscape.
Just minor points but the light inside the room was not strong. The only way to see clearly was by opening the window. Also, despite the presence of a hairdryer in the bathroom, there was no power outlet to use it.

Delightful hotel in Narvik. Check-in was smooth and the staff were really friendly. The room was comfortable and impeccably clean. We were particularly happy with how well the curtains blocked out light in the summer. The bathroom was spotless and functional. Breakfast was superb, with a fantastic spread and even included meals that could be ordered a la carte. Overall outstanding experience and would come back in a heartbeat.
No hotel parking but plenty of on-street parking nearby.

For visitors to Narvik, hotel Wivel is located in an excellent spot right in the city centre, just off the main road through town. There are tons of restaurants and shops right outside, as well as the Narvik War museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and my room was exactly as expected from the photos here. During my stay, there was free coffee and tea available in the reception, and some cold drinks could be purchased as well. Both my room and bathroom were immaculate, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast deserves a special mention, as it excelled both in selection and presentation. Somewhat unusual, there was arranged seating for breakfast, and a small selection of items prepared for me in advance. Staff also offered table service for what turned out to be most excellent pancakes and bacon, plus of course one could pick from the breakfast buffet the more usual items.
Unfortunately, I happened to arrive during an unusually warm day of the year, for which the hotel was badly prepared. There was no air conditioning in my room, and it was a good 26'C (or 79F) when I arrived. The large windows in my room only opened a small amount, and in any case, noises from the outside did not invite keeping the windows open during the night. I am once again asking hotels to stop building beautiful elegant bathrooms, and then sticking plastic soap-dispensers on the wall.

The room was comfortable and peaceful, staff very nice, hotel well maintained, location great and chargeable parking places close to the hotel. Decent breakfast was included to the room price. Easy to come with own car. Wine and beer and snacks to buy in the reception.
The room had a skylight window which we did not like at all. No view anywhere and hard to ventilate while it was raining. Otherwise we were satisfied to the room and the hotel. The street parking has 2 hours time limits close to the hotel, so I had to move car twice on the day we came and once on the day we left to take our car to a different parking zone. Luckily the zones were very small, so the distances were only about 100 meters each. But if You check in before 16.00, You have to move Your car at least once before 18.00 like we did. And then I moved the car once more in the evening so that car was in a different zone at 8.00 than it had been at 18.00. Just in case. EasyPark app was easy to use, the zone numbers were clearly marked by the street.

My room was an ecomomy one but it was very good, little small but i was expected that. The staff was very polite and very very helpfull. The breakfast was amazing, for the range of the tastes but also for the way they serve it because it a boufet but you have also additional choices for the eggs and personal position. It was looking not like a breakfast but like a lunch in a good reastaurant. I liked also the parking that was at a place nearby (25m form the entrance)
Only the fact that there was not an elevator. Not actually problem for me but some people feel it as problem. Ofcourse the maximum of 2 floors that you have to go on stairs is not so big deal!

Location, was great, private parking was a bonus, room was huge and very well appointed. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have experienced. The selection was never ending. We pre booked our time and our table was prepared for us with croissants, cake, fruit and chocolate, that was before the main event it was exceptional.
Nothing to dislike, they were undergoing refurbishments but this did not impact in our stay at all.
