The room was not 'boutique' or particularly fancy but more than met our expectations and had plenty of space for us. The people on staff were wonderful - everyone from check-in/check-out to the bar staff (we had a drink prior to dinner). The bar area and dining room were very well appointed, The breakfast was excellent. The proximity to Under was the primary reason we chose the hotel and it was so convenient. The walking trails around the hotel provided a great way to spend some time outdoors. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a hotel in the area.

Nothing was wrong.

Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good with a great view. Good thing to know (we unfortunately did not and visited the lighthouse before check-in): You get the entrance for the lighthouse for free as a guest.

The place is a bit of a maze and you have to go outside to get from the reception/breakfast to your room as the hotel stretches across multiple buildings - not ideal when it is cold and windy. Also, there is no phone to call reception which I found strange given the layout. Although good and certainly enough for different tastes, there was less variety for breakfast compared to places in a similar price range.

Location, free access to lighthouse, rooms with sea views were great. Restaurant was excellent. There was a wedding on but this did not affect our enjoyment at all. The staff were lovely and helpful.

The lift up to our room wasn’t working and with six of us and bags it was a shame and because of the wedding parking was difficult (I can imagine this is not normally the case).

The room was nice and quiet. The location was the primary reason that we stayed here so that we could walk to the Under Restaurant for dinner and then back the short distance after dinner. Our dinner was not over until almost midnight and not having to drive allowed us to do the wine pairing with our meal.

The room was somewhat small and we had to go outside to get to the room. The breakfast was just okay compared with many of the other hotels that we stayed at in Norway.

The hotel is large and looks very modern. The rooms were beautiful and clean. I also greatly appreciated that it was quiet at night; we slept very well. The breakfasts were very rich, and we almost regretted that we were just passing through; we would have gladly stayed at the hotel longer. Additionally, we greatly appreciated the free tickets to the nearby lighthouse that we received from the hotel, and we thank the lady at the reception for recommending other interesting places to visit.

We really enjoyed our stay there. Beautiful and cozy decorated lobby and dining area, comfortable room, and nice breakfast. Most importantly, the staff members were all super nice and helpful- our car ran out of battery in the morning, and the staff members helped us to jumpstart very quickly. Communication was smooth as well. Overall, it was an absolutely amazing experience!

The breakfast was varied and filling. Something for children and for grown-ups. The staff was friendly when asking for instructions or additional services. When asked for late check-out (one additional hour), the staff showed understanding. The living room was spacious and the kitchen was quite well equipped.

We stayed at a two-room apartment and the bedrooms were rather tight. Regretfully, one of the bedrooms had a bad smell, like it had not been properly cleaned. In the kitchen, we found one of the casserole's had food leftovers. I understand sometimes it is possible to oversee food traces when taking the things out of the dishwasher and placing them quickly back into the shelves, but when spending the night at a hotel I'd have expected not to see things like this. The soap dispenser in the bathroom didn't work, we had to take out the soap from the dispenser to wash our hands. Last, although the kitchen was well equipped, there was no salt and pepper. We had a room with a sea view which is very nice. There's also a small kitchen. The hotel common areas are very cosy and spacious. Good breakfast although the food should be covered. We experienced people heavily breathing and coughing on it (COVID hasn't taught anything).

Our room was not according to the description since it's a 2-floor room with steep stairs to reach the bed. It could be an issue for people older than us or with low mobility or simply with fear. In any case the room description must give this information so you can decide if take it or not. The room furniture did not look very well kept (e.g. many wall hangers were broken, one of the windows didn't close properly).

The hotel is well located, clean, with great parking with chargers, the rooms were quiet and clean. Great apartments for a family with kids.

They didn’t have blackouts at the windows. It got too much light in the rooms too early. The chargers price are a bit high.

Breakfast was wonderful. We planned to stay in Spangereid to visit Under, so HavHotel was perfect. The room was everything we needed.

This time of year, there were few dining choices outside of the hotel. After a wonderful time at Under, we were looking for some inexpensive dinner choices. The Thai place was excellent however.
