My wife (Filipina) and I (Canadian) spent 6 nights at Sunset Bay, a wonderful accommodation. Our 1 bedroom villa was spacious and bright with large windows and sliding glass doors, comfortable queen bed, split AC, reliable wifi, top quality bedding and plentiful towels.The kitchen is fully equipped with full size ref, induction stove, microwave, rice cooker, toaster, kettle, large water dispenser and full set of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, sharp knives and cutting boards. The living area has a couch, coffee table and chairs. The deck is spacious with comfortable chairs and a table for outdoor dining and morning coffee. There is also a large well equipped grill area.  The resort grounds are beautifully landscaped and include a warm and very clean pool with extra towels and comfortable loungers.Complimentary stand up paddle boards and a kayak are available to use in the sheltered mangrove lined bay at the back of the property. The resort is located about 5 minutes drive from the famous Cloud 9  beach/surf area and 10 minutes from the town market which has a good selection of fresh fish, chicken, pork, fruit and vegetables. Being just on the edge of town the resort is very quiet, not a single rooster or barking dog! But best of all is the family (retired European/Austalian mom and dad and their son and his Filipino family) who designed, built, own and operate the resort, more as a labour of love than a business. You can never go out without them asking if everything is all right, what do you need, how are you enjoying your stay? My wife and I  have traveled extensively in the Philippines since I retired 6 years ago and Sunset Bay is one of the best accommodations we have found. Not the cheapest, but excellent value.

There is nothing not to like at Sunset Bay

Very quite and you have your own little pool. The aircon was 10/10 we needed it . Use of paddle boards and kayak are a good touch. The Mick was so nice and we throughly enjoyed our stay. 100% recommend to everyone we have spoken to.

Loved the private pool, the host Mike was a super host, nothing was a problem, anything you wanted or needed he would drp everything and get it sorted for you, top tips on where to go, what to do and where to eat. Top bloke! The water pressure was good, rooms very clean, bed comfortable, A/C working perfectly in the bedroom. The location was excellent being so close to sunset Bridge but you could literally hear a pin drop inside the villa. Kitchen and utensils were great, fridge was decent size. Private beach was great and faces directly into the sunsets, would I stay here again..... In a heartbeat.

Nothing, my only suggestion is a plastic tray with water that you can put your feet with sand on it and clean the before going into the house

Mick the owner & his parents were great hosts. Very friendly & so helpful. From the booking to the friendly conversations. Nothing was a hassle for them. The pool was lovely & clean. The landscape grounds around our accommodation were absolutely beautifully. It’s exactly as advertised. It's also so close to Sunset Bridge (100 meter walk) where you can eat street food while the sun sets and Catangnan is just a 5 min walk away. We would highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back soon! Well done Mick & his parents! 👍

From the booking process to the friendly and beautiful conversations we had with Mick and his parents this was hands down one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. It’s exactly as advertised and has a really nice family feel.. the hosts helped us get scooters and pointed out the best places to go and were always up for a chat. The vila we stayed in had aircon and I stayed in the loft upstairs and it was super comfy.

The wifi is not super fast but phone data was more than sufficient plus the local cafe has great coffee and good wifi for work.

Everything! If you’re looking for a place to go with an exceptional host you found the right spot. if you’re looking for cloth napkins, the JW Marriott is in Manila. Siargao has its own beauty and charm. For instance, this property is located right next to the famed Sunset bridge. This is the beauty. The power goes out from time to time, there’s the charm. They do have a generator to keep the essentials going. The hot water was hot, the cold water was cold, the aircon was spot on. It’s the Philippines, sit back and enjoy the sunset. The owners are located next-door. If you need something, ask. Micko and his family are simply amazing people. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

There is no downside unless you’re a habitual complainer. In that case you’ll find many things wrong.

We had a wonderful stay. Mick the owner and his parents were great hosts and very friendly and full of advice, Mick helped us get whatever we needed. He even took time to drive me down to the local shops to get a SIM card. The accommodation was spacious and spotless and had all the kitchen appliances and cooking utensils. The pool was lovely and clean and the grounds around our accommodation were beautifully landscaped. The entrance to the resort is right next to the famous sunset bridge. We would highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back again in the future. Well done Mick!👍

Place … owner and the ambiance really quiet and close from everything.. Mikey and his parent at super great and they do his best to give you the best experience in Siargao They are always there for anything… question , bbq . Houskeeping…. I will comeback for shure

If i need to Saïd something… the wi fi conection … but it s a island … so it s not really there fault …. Take a nice data package and it will be more then allright

Located walking distance from the famous Catangnan Bridge, where street foods pops up and lots of people hangout in the afternoon for the sunset. It is placed in very quiet part of the bay, has a beachfront and you can use their kayak and paddle boards for free. We had a very spacious villa, with living room, kitchen and huge bathroom and the best part was the private swimming pool. Toiletries and complimentary snacks and coffees are provided too. Motorbikes are available for rent at the property at a reasonable price. Hosts are very nice and friendly, they also let us check in early without a problem.

Mick and his family were incredibly supportive hosts. Right from the get go I felt incredibly comfortable at Sunset Bay Beach Villas with both the overall vibe of the room, but most significantly the service provided. I had access to a cheap rental scooter, as well as paddle boards take out onto the water and view the incredibly sunset. The location itself is in a great spot, its both secluded so you get a sense of privacy and serenity, while also being close enough to the action that a short walk or scooter ride will have you at bars & restaurants in both cloud 9 and General Luna.

The place itself was beautiful and spacious, the only slight issue was the WiFi was a bit temperamental. The villa is really close to a telephone pole however so I'd expect the WiFi would typically be quite good, I think this was more a Siargao thing than a Sunset Bay thing.
