The staff were amazing. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. They noticed that it appeared that the internet signal was weak in our room, and they remedied it before we even asked. Our rental car wouldn't start the day of our departure and they arranged for a mechanic to come and fix it. When that same rental car had a different problem 30 minutes away, they once again arranged to have a mechanic.come and fix the problem. And they checked in with us throughout the ordeal to make sure we were okay. Don't know what we would have done without them. The location is also amazing. So beautiful and peaceful. A true treat for the eyes and soul. We truly loved our time at Maravilla.

The food is perfectly good but there is room for improvement. The shower leaked in our unit, which was more of a distraction than anything else.

From the moment I arrived at Maravilla, along a beautiful track by the lake, I knew it would be a special stay. Agnes deserves a special mention, as she went above and beyond to ensure I was looked after nad made me feel so at home. The location is beautiful, with stunning lake-side views to wake up to. The rooms are also finished to a very high standard, with sumptuous bedding which was very welcome after the hours spent hiking and trekking in the forest! The hotel is about an hour's drive by car / moto taxi from Nyungwe Uwinka reception where most walks/treks begin, which made it the perfect place to start from. I hope I will return again one day. Thank you for making my time in Nyungwe so special.

The food menu (vegetarian) could be a little more exciting - I would have loved to try some traditional Rwnadan cuisine which I enjoyed in other places like plantain curries.

We had a wonderful stay at Maravilla after a long morning of Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe. The location by the lake is just breath-taking, and we loved being able to swim right from the hotel property. We enjoyed fresh juices throughout the day, and dinner with local fish dishes at the hotel restaurant. The room was spacious and very clean, and the bed super comfortable. Thank you to the friendly staff for everything!

The resort is located in a beautiful area, right on the southern shores of lake Kivu. The setting is absolutely wonderful, with no other touristic places around. The dirt road to get to Maravilla goes thru fishermen's villages. A taste of authenticity and paradise. Service & food is great

Mosquitos make a lot of noise at night, it didn't bother me at all but you may wanna bring earplugs.

The Resort is perfectly situated right on Lake Kivu. It’s also very close to Nyungwe National Park, so you can spend the night here when doing activities in the park. The food in the restaurant is also good. Daniel is also a great host. He helped us in the very early morning when we had a flat tire. Thanks a lot, we are very grateful!

Great welcome by the owner and his staff who are very friendly and helpful. We were surprised by how idyllic and tranquil the place was. Often the many birds were the only sources of sounds. Nice! I am sure there will be even more around when the news of this gem has properly spread amongst them too. 😊 Great place to relax.

The last mile or so gravel road is a bit bumpy.

The Resort was a very nice spot for our family to enjoy Lake Kivu. We had fun kayaking and our children spent the day swimming with the local kids. The property was wonderfully peaceful and we were sad to leave.

Amazing location with plenty of birds around and view of the lake Kivu. Makes you feel really cosy and cared for. Food is great and during the season they can serve mango straight from the tree, incredible experience. Perfect place for relax after (or before) hiking in Nyungwe NP.

The property was gorgeous. It’s is located right on the lake. Calm, peaceful and serene with wonderful staff. The breakfast was included and excellent.

The road leading to the property is very rough and difficult to drive with a car.
