The resort has a really nice location overlooking the lake with great views and just a short walk down to the lake and boats. It is nice and quiet and I enjoyed 2 nights stay. It is also walking distance from the genocide memorial and church. I also walked back to the bus station or you can take a moto or taxi. The staff were helpful and can arrange boat tours.

The accommodation is quite simple and bare so don't expect a 'resort' exactly. The price they offer for boat tours seems to vary wildly and the receptionist approached me almost immediately to get me to book one. I was offered much lower rates by boat operators from the collectivo on the streets. However the guide on the boat I arranged through the hotel was great and I was happy with the trip. Take your time and read the agencys' reviews online or wander down and have a look at the boats yourself and guides as it is just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

The friendly staff are amazing and they went above and beyond our expectation. I wish I could remember the names of the kitchen staff but they all did an amazing job to make our stay memorable and great. Theo, the front desk staff have also contributed a lot to our adventure. He helped arrange our boat trip with the guide (Claude) who was knowlegeable and professional. He explained everything before we departed and there was no surprises. Theo even coordinated our boat tour with another guests with a kid. Their cute girl even became friend with our daughter and played together throught the 2+ hour boat trip to various islands. Unfortunately, we were not able to see Monkies in the island named after them "The Monkey Island". Instead we made a joke of the situation and named it " Mango Island" as we ended up walking around inside the island and ate delicious mangoes. The rooms have a nice view to the Kivu lake,and you can even see it while dining in the restaurant. The fresh breeze, added with the delicious food in the restaurant made our stay truly wonderful and memorable. We brought two kids, 1 and 6, and they did enjoy it greatly. For families with kids, the "Carnival Beach" provides us a pool alternative as we were not able to find pool accessible to the public. There are some but are exclusively for staying guests. So our daughters experienced a beach experience in the afore mentioned place, which is not too far from Rebero Kivu Resort. It was so good that my wife suggested that we move here and stay for a couple of years. We will see.

The very short road (about 50-70 meters from the main road was a bit rough for our small car. Upgrading it with sphalt (tarmac road) would greatly appreciate this location. For SUVs its not an issue. The fridge in the room did not work,we put some milk for our daughter and it was spoiled. But since we could get milk from the restaurant it wasn't a big deal. Just mentioning for improvement purposes only.

Lovely location w a view of the beautiful lake,. We loved sitting at the little table outside our room with a beer gazing at it! Restaurant onsite also fab view. And good meals at reasonable prices. Breakfast was included in our room price and was the standard but good. Served by delightful staff as we sat looking over that lake! An easy 15 min walk into the small town (ATM, groceries etc). Also to a little school run by a Spanish woman just past the roundabout - they do amazing work there with the poorest, most disadvantaged little children. Really enjoyed this place.

Double check before considering swimming in the lake.

I loved the the staff and the view. Leah, the lady at the reception, is absolutely incredible. She was so friendly and kind, ready to help with whatever questions and requests I had. Thanks to people like Leah, the guests are very happy. The room was very basic, but it is ok for a night or two. Of course there are better rooms there if you pay more. The food was delicious.

My room didn't have a trash bin; I could also hear some noises in the middle of the night whether from guests or staff, I'm not sure.

I had a fantastic stay at Rebero Kivu Resort in Kibuye. The location is ideal, offering breathtaking views of Lake Kivu. Waking up to that scenery was the highlight of my mornings. The breakfast was great with a variety of options, including some delicious local dishes. It was a perfect way to start the day. The staff was exceptionally friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Whether you're there for the view, the food, or the service, this hotel has everything . I’d definitely stay here again.

This is a great place, ran by friendly people, on a nice location, with nice views to the lake. Other reviewers complained that food in the restaurant takes a long time. Yes, it does take around 1 hour or more. But if guests wanted fast food they would not come here in the first place. The food was always 5 stars, some of the best food I had in Rwanda. On my first meal, I was impatient with the delay, but once I realised it was always going to be like this, for the other meals I brought entertainment (books, etc.), because I knew the wait was long. But in the end the wait always paid off. Such great food!!!

The toilet and the sink in my bathroom were leaking, the room could have been cleaner (cobwebs, trash from previous guests not emptied), you can hear your neighbors if they talk a bit louder, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, make sure to order your dinner at the restaurant when you’re not yet hungry as it takes 1.5hrs to be ready

Very friendly staff, both at the reception and restaurant. Moussa is also very welcominh and helpful with information before arriving and during stay. I didnt take the names but the other guys from reception too, they arranged bus ticket for me, thank you so much! The food was really good, very tasty chicken curry, chicken shawarma and beef burger!! Super! Very quiet place perfect to relax, enjoy the lake and walks!

The bathroom looks a bit old, and the room needs a bit of maintenance, the curtains...A small gesture that I missed was a bottle of water in the room, that most places include, even much cheaper ones.

• Rooms: We had a 3x single bed room with private bathroom. It was surprisingly nice & cool inside the rooms even though it was boiling outside. Rooms were clean and shower was hot. • Staff: The staff (reception & waiter/barman) were friendly and professional. We appreciate it! • Food: Their restaurant is really good - a full plate, fresh bread/pancakes, and an especially lovely breakfast with fresh fruit! • Location/parking: The resort is set somewhat on top of a hill and nice and private so you can leave your car parked there without worrying.

• Location: Though it didn't bother us because the 'beach' is a very quick walk and you have a beautiful view from the resort, it isn't right on the beach if that's what you are looking for. • Rooms: one of the beds didn't have a mosquito net - it didn't bother us that much but I'm sure other times of the year it can get hectic.

The staff above anything else was incredibly helpful, kind and supportive! We highly highly recommend taking the boat rides with their partner that was incredible! We wanted to do a simple boa ride and ended up doing a night experience with the local fisherman and the next morning we spent 3 hours exploring the 6 islands of the the lake
