My stay in Rwiza village was absolutely wonderful. This accommodation is a great choice for nature lovers with a good value for money. The location is amazing – it’s extremely quiet with a wonderful view at lake Kivu. I felt so relaxed being enveloped by the greenery and the gentle sounds of nature. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and comfortable, with all the facilities I needed for a nice stay. The food was delicious. I had a fantastic time and will definitely come back next time I’m in Karongi.

The bathroom was so small you could barely move or take a shower. Maybe the owner should consider expanding the huts.

Beautiful location above the lake shore, with a wonderful view from your bungalow's balcony. Very good food (both breakfast and dinner). The staff can arrange a boat trip to the Lake Kivu islands - the crew will pick you up right from the hotel's jetty. Ask for Napoleon's Island (in the shape of his hat - fruit bats' colony), Monkey Island (blue velvet monkey coming to the boat to greet you and ask for bananas), Crops' Island (plantation of local crops) and swimming cows' spectacle. The final few hundred metres to the hotel might be scary, but don't give up and continue - you'll be rewarded :-)

Very nice little place. Great view of the lake and canoes passing by. The cabins are very nice, with own bathroom an balcony overlooking the garden and lake. A platform for swimming (needs some maintenance). A lovely garden, and a nice terrace (the terrace itself could do with more plants to make it super nice). Staff very friendly, good service, nice food. In fact, the fastest restaurant service in Rwanda as we experienced so far! Easy moto taxi into Kibuye (2k rwf pp) and we took a boat back (30k rwf per boat). Kibuye itself is nice and mellow (except for the many boat operators looking for business, but they all stay polite and let you go). Recommended!

Beautiful location with fantastic views over Lake Kivu. On arrival, our car turned out to be in breakdown. The receptionist helped us tremendously by staying in touch with the technicians and translating into English for us. His help was invaluable. Thank you, Eric! Super friendly staff in the restaurant and very good food. Very nice breakfast.

The last stretch of road to the accommodation is in very poor condition and difficult to access with an ordinary car. Nothing else to report.

Rwiza Village is really in a superb location. The view over Lake Kivu is wonderful and watching the fishermen going out on the lake in their boats in the afternoons and returning at sunrise was an unforgettable experience. The rooms are basic, but designes very nicely and the view from the balcony is superb. The place has a nice small bathing spot. The shore is quite steep so perhaps not ideal for little children. The breakfast was nice and we got a wonderful fruit plate each morning.

Plain water is not included in the breakfast. Even if you don't take coffee/tea (which is included) and want to replace it with water, they will charge you for it.

The site has 8-10 chalets on a hill overlooking the grounds that slope down to Lake Kivu. My chalet was small but comfortable, with piping hot water and a small balcony. Minus getting to the place, checkin was smooth. The next morning I woke up to a beautiful view of Lake Kivu, spending time on the dock at the shore enjoying the view and lapping water. You can see the DRC across the lake on a clear day. There are some benches and shade you can sit under nearby. The staff and manager were friendly. The best part was a delicious and filling breakfast of fruit, omelette, and good coffee partnered with a view of the lake. A power outlet next to the table allowed me to spend more than an hour on my laptop while enjoying the breakfast and coffee. The resident cat may stop by to say hello. I would stay here again, perfect for relaxation.

The driver and I arrived late, around 10 PM. The manager informed us earlier she was going to bed and we were unable to reach her for more specific directions. Google Maps sends you down an incorrect, impassable road, and the map location on Booking.com is way off on the other side of Kibuye. I called Booking.com support and they tried calling the manager, ready to move me to another location after no success. I was certain from the satellite photos we were nearby but on the wrong road. We backtracked and found a small sign, the right road, and finally checked in around 11 PM.

The location, next to the lake, the gardens and the lodges impress as soon as you arrive. Eric, the receptionist, is very hospitable. The room is a dream, hot water, access to the lake for swimming, and a spectacular breakfast. A well-deserved 10 points for the Rwiza Village team. Oh, if you love birds, you can watch them from the balcony of the lodge. They will be your sweet melody when you wake up.

Nice place, still in development but with a lot of potential. There is an amazing shore at the lake where the boat trip starts, very peaceful. In the morning you can hear the singing of the fisherman. Delicious food!

Not super clean, but ok. The road to arrive, however, is terrible and impossible to do without a 4x4. Hope they will improve this over time. The place is growing very nicely

It was so beautiful, and comfortable, the staff, especially Jojo, were so helpful and friendly. It was an incredible experience. Watching the singing and whistling fishermen return from a night of fishing, was probably the highlight of my stay! The view of the sun setting over the lake from the restaurant is also like something out of a movie!

I understand the property has no control over this, but on my last day, across the lake, pigs were screaming bloody murder until the nightly hours. The next morning I was awaken at 5 am by these screams. But this is honestly the only bad experience I had.

To wake up with the view on the garden and lake was fantastic. The little bungalows are awesome. It was an amazing experience to see the local fishermen coming back on their beautiful boat singing. We had a swim and boat tour to the island which was a real bliss. The food was good.

Unfortunately, the place is a little bit run down but has so much potential. No wifi in the bedrooms but not a real issue. The shower needs to be fixed.
