Beds are very comfortable with charging sockets next to the beds. Shower always has hot water. Interiorand exterior design is very aesthetic, large common room with TV and games etc. With adjoining balcony views and nice garden with terrace at the entrance. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Big lockers for storage.

I was told by two staff members that they do not provide a laundry service despite it being listed as a chargable service on their website. Traveling for two years almost and I never experience a hostel without this service. 90% of the food menu is unavailable first and foremost and then also overpriced, it takes way too long relative to ordering via Zomato. They told me the hostel does not need AC because Shillong is a hill station, yet sleeping in underwear the room is unbearably suffocating and waking up in sweat. Zostel is biggest hostel chain in India, I'm sure they can afford to install AC and provide a laundry service at the rate they charge.

This was my first stay with Zostel Shillong. I am a solo traveller and nothing more could have made my travel better than Zostel Shillong. Kuddos to a team of people dedicated at making the tourist experience better. A shoutout to 1. Santosh bhaiya, a guy with a big smile and always there to assist you at whatever needed. 2. Rajeev bhaiya, for locally travelling to places like Cherrapunji, Dawki, etc. the guy had loads of travellers/passengers stories to tell...be patient and just enjoy them. 3. And also a big thanks to the inhouse cafe staff, their passion to serve and empathetic qualities are heartily appreciated (there were times I reached late and they were off to close their cafe...yet they served knowing how tiring the trecks and travel can be).

My recent stay at Zostel Shillong was nothing short of fantastic. Nestled in the serene hills, this hostel offers a perfect blend of comfort, community, and charm. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. However, what truly set this experience apart was the incredible hospitality, especially from Santosh. From the moment we arrived, Santosh made us feel right at home. His warm and genuine nature, along with his willingness to assist with everything. I can confidently say that Zostel Shillong, with its amazing team, especially Santosh, is one of the best places I’ve stayed. It’s more than just a hostel – it’s a place where you feel cared for, and that makes all the difference. Thank you, Santosh, and the entire Zostel team, for making our trip to Shillong unforgettable ☺️

Shillong is a beautiful place and to compliment it's beauty ,Zostel fits best to stay amid natural surroundings, beautiful views of the city and positive vibes. The Zostel staff are very friendly and cooperative, the tourists coming from all over India and outside makes this place a diversified stay while interaction with them . I should also mention the community manager Ms Soumya who took us to a memorable trip to the pine forest,as well as local cafes,and walking tours .She is full of energy and ideas to make the trip more interesting and adventurous.

As most of the cabs from Guwahati have a police bazar as the last point, Zostel should mention a way or a route from the Police bazar to the Zostel location.

The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The manager was very amenable to help us and even helped us to organise drivers for trips. The atmosphere in the hostel was sociable and we had a great time hanging out in the lovely common room.

The property did not often keep change/ float which made it hard to pay for things. The cafe hours were unreliable which affected us when planning trips. The storage lockers were broken so there was no secure place for us to store valuables.

Santosh bhiya's hostel is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by its warm and welcoming ambiance. The facilities are impeccable, providing all the comforts one could ask for. Santosh bhiya himself is an incredible host, always ready with a smile and helpful advice. The atmosphere among fellow travelers is vibrant and inclusive, making it easy to forge lasting friendships. And let's not forget the delectable meals served here, truly a gastronomic delight! Without a doubt, Santosh bhiya's hostel is a haven for any wanderer seeking a memorable and delightful stay.

This is hands down the best place to stay in Shillong, absolutely worth every penny. The location is fab, the staff is super sweet and accomodated every need and requirement - Santosh ji ❤️ The crowd was lovely, it made my stay a memorable one. The property is pretty, every bonfires, great common areas and a nice cafe, what else do you need ....❤️❤️❤️

The washroom of two bed female dormitory could have been slightly better like the washrooms of other dorms.

Sanjeevani was good in interacting with the zostel guests. She was very helpful in planning your stay. The stay was comfortable. The food was marvellous. We stayed there for 2 days and had dinner in the zostel cafe itself.

The location is bit outer from the main market. Cab drivers charge u bit more from pb to zostel.

Santosh dai managed the property and at the same time gave wonderful travel suggestions. He along with other solo travellers did watch out for other solo travellers. Even if you are travelling solo, here u will be safe.

Warm and cosy beds, chilled vibe every evening, so many wonderful people, and such a welcoming attitude. Zostel in particular needs more visibility to folks who travel solo and on budget. Quite a value for money

Since this is a new property, hence it's going to take some time to adjust to the standards of Zostel in particular. That's why giving it a pass. Otherwise it just needs a little more staff to maintain and manage it. The location needs to be updated on maps, there needs to be a landmark mentioned,such as Shyiap.
