Have you ever been a place that completely superseded every expectations you had? This was that place. To begin with, the staff!!! I kept wondering how a group of the finest human beings were collectively brought together in this space. Every single person I met here treated me with so much kindness that brought me to tears many times. From the amazing ladies who owned the resort, to the incredible men who worked at the bar and restaurant, and the fine young lady at the kitchen who made the delicious meals, and the beautiful ladies at the reception who welcomed me with smiles, and of course to the pets; Parker, the bird and the little kitten. I came here to celebrate my birthday, and the owner of this place was so so gracious to buy me a birthday cake. How truly generous! The property itself is a work of art. A beauty in a building. The decor was so tasteful that I kept asking who the architect and designers were. It felt like a treasure hunt discovering each part of this stunning resort. From the cozy reading nook, to the terrific ocean views, to the beautiful pool, to the bar, and the restaurant that had just the most beautiful decorations and pieces from across the world, the mouth-watering meals and size-able portions, and to the room with a view of the courtyard. Everything about this place was beyond perfect. So much finer and better than in the photos. It’s unreal how magical this place is. I am so grateful that I got to spend my birthday here, and humbled to have met everyone here, especially Parker the bird who even though we were off to a strange start, lol, made my stay so heartfelt. The way the bird would peach on my shoulder and sit there for minutes long truly warmed my heart. And finally, my flight was 10pm and I was allowed to stay the whole day for free even when I offered to pay. I’ve met nice people in my life, but nothing compares to this. The compassion I was shown here is one that will stay with me for a very long time.

OceanBlue is a lovely hotel. We really enjoyed it. The decor is unusual, simple but tasteful. All white washed curving walls. There are lots of interesting art works dotted around. The rooms are quite spacious with good aircon, decent walk in shower and large veranda. The hotel is not near local attractions and beaches but with a hire car was not a problem. The pool area is small but never gets crowded. There are always available chairs. The view from the pool out to the ocean is outstanding, you get great sunrises to the left and sunsets to the right! The owners, James, Lulu and Liesje, are very friendly and welcoming. Treat you almost like one of the family. The food in the restaurant is decent and not expensive by Barbados standards. There is a general feeling of peacefulness and serenity almost like a retreat. The hotel is very reasonably priced compared to most others in Barbados. For us, it worked out well and we would consider returning.

I feel like the hotel would not necessarily suit everybody’s tastes though. If you liked to be on a beach, or very near a beach. If you wanted to be within a walk of restaurants and shops. If you wanted the on site restaurant to have lots of meal options. If you didn’t like a cock crowing at dawn and numerous other times! If you wanted a TV in room and regular entertainment, then this hotel may not be for you.

This was, hands down, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, and we have done lots of traveling. James, his sister and his wife are very kind, welcoming, caring and try very hard to make every guest's stay a pleasure. On the first morning, James greeted us so warmly during breakfast, we immediately felt at home. The whole resort is just amazing. The location is great: right by the ocean, with a fantastic view (the best one we have ever had from a hotel!!) to the sea, in a residential and therefore very authentic (and safe!!) neighborhood, perfectly in the middle to explore the rough east and the smooth west coast. Oistins is just a short drive away. You do not need a car to stay here, even though it is certainly more comfortable to have one. The restaurant and bar staff are equally amazing. Thank you Von and Ronnie for making every evening /night a fun time. During night several security men take care of the guests' safety, which is very good. Guests, who forgot their sunscreen, can borrow one from the hotel, which is very generous. The rooms overlooking the ocean are especially great. We loved how beautifully decorated with various works of art the whole resort and the rooms are. And it is great that the rooms do not have a TV. The food in the restaurant is very good and the cocktails are delicious. Every Saturday there is live music. It is a very calm place, also suitable for single travelers, and since it is a rather small hotel, you easily find yourself talking to other guests and - best case - making new friendships. The pool is great, we could stay by the pool and watch the ocean all day long. This is a very fatanstic and happy place and we would like to thank all the hotel staff there, which really made our Barbedos vacation just perfect.!

Please note that everything below is just my personal opinion 😊 This is a place you want to return. It's a great hotel to relax and recharge. Cozy and comfortable. The owners put their soul into this place and it can be felt in everything: aesthetics, cleanliness, comfort and peace and, of course, the attitude towards guests: everyone is very friendly, but does not violate personal space, all issues, if they arise, are resolved as quickly as possible. Local artists are invited once a week, so guests can enjoy a concert, don't worry, it won't interfere with your relaxation. There is a restaurant on the territory, the food is very tasty, and the staff are just lovely, very friendly, hospitable and polite! Guys, you really are great 😊 Breakfast is served here from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. if I’m not mistaken. You can pay with card, cash in US$ or BBD. The sound of the ocean can be heard even with the windows closed and it is like a lullaby) Beautiful dawns, if you wake up at dawn, of course. You have to walk to the beach, but it’s quite windy on this coast, so swimming in the ocean is not always an option, it is great that there is a swimming pool with the ocean view on the property. If you enjoy windsurfing or kitesurfing - this is the place for you. It you want to reach calmer beaches you will have to go by car or bus. The front desk staff will help you hail a taxi (about $25-30, may be more depending on where you’re going) or you can try public transportation (only $1.75 or 3.50 BBD, you can pay in both currencies). Personally, I think that bus #11 is a must try. You may be temporarily shocked, but it's fun and definitely something you'll remember. The thing is, you’ll want to come back here.

Stay at OceanBlue Resort!! It is breathtakingly beautiful and has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced! The owners are so kind to their guests and their staff. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and very, very clean. I even had a patio where I could sit in the evenings. The restaurant is excellent, and, unlike most resort and hotel restaurants, is very reasonably priced. The chef prepared everything so well that I ate all my meals there. I recommend the coconut shrimp appetizer, the kingfish w/potatoes and veggies and the flying fish and chips. The cheesecake and ice cream were also excellent. My tour cancelled on me and I had trouble finding a taxi that would take me to the wildlife sanctuary for under $175 and the owner James took me there and back and refused to take any money even though I offered several time. He also found out that one guest had their luggage still at the airport and took her down there as well. His sister and wife also help run the resort and they are equally wonderful. Simply put, they just truly want their guests to have a great vacation. They made my stay so incredible.

Had a nice stay here. We had a car so no issue with getting to it. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks. Loved sitting near the pool with waves crashing in. Sitting room with library.

Some may have issue with the fact there is no beach nearby.

Very well maintained intimate resort. Friendly staff and delicious food. The view and continuous sound of the ocean is beautiful.

A bit of a distance from the main tourist area of Bridgetown, but convenient bus route close by that runs frequently.

The resort was beautiful and clean. It is a peaceful and serene place that allows you to really disconnect if that is what's needed. I am not a drinker, but my friends loved the drinks. The staff was friendly and engaging. I liked that I had time alone in the pool and I didn't ever have to fight for a lounger. The views were breathtaking.

I didn't like being awakened by the grounds being maintained at 8a while I was off vacationing. It also would have been nice if food was available between 2 and 6p, and later than 9p. A more extensive menu selection would have been great, and microwaves in the rooms or a common area, especially since food was not always available, would be appreciated.

The location is on the beach front on the south tip of the island, Inch Marlow. It is more removed from the busier beaches, and as a result the hotel is a scenic and beautifully relaxing place, with breathtaking views straight onto the Atlantic Ocean, waves right in front of you, fantastic! The hotel is architechturally designed, recently refurbished and very clean, well maintained and the rooms very comfortable. The beds and pillows were comfy, the room spacious with fantastic ocean views, and sounds...I left yesterday, I miss the place already! The staff were friendly and on point, and I'm very very picky! The owners were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they worked hard to ensure guests really enjoyed their stay. I was able to relax, holiday and also hold business meetings in a space with beautiful artwork with delegates, who were impressed to return. The owners I felt that they had a real connection with guests, many of whom were repeat and happy to point out their likes about the resort and the locality. The hotel is very charming the views of the Allantic amazing, but the best is the staff they are so helpful with everything. The best part is away from the big hotels and crowds definately a oasis.
