The hotel is 7 minute walk from Rodalquilar, lovely very small town . It is run by a young couple who could not be more friendly and helpful. The hotel is pretty small and our room had a kitchenette that folded away into a fitted unit. We barely used it. Comfortable bed and good aircon. You exited the room onto your own private decking area which was screened off from neighbour by planting. It had table, chairs and two sunbeds. Then steps into the garden and very nice swimming pool. We used this for a short swim each day after what was a walking holiday and had it to ourselves. It was surrounded by sunbeds and i cannot imagine it ever being that busy. This part of Spain can be very hot and the pool was so welcome. We found we needed to use a washing machine and the staff helpfully let us use a hotel machine. Breakfast was served in the restaurant with tables spaced far apart. You are asked to chose what you want the day before and that worked fine. Everything freshly made and very tasty. The restaurant was closed two nights of the four while we were there but we did eat on our last night and the food was great. Alfredo takes great care to explain the food and rightly proud of what they achieve. Good drinks selection as well.

The staff are really great, super helpful and freindly. The location is beyond amazing, ten minute walk from the beautiful tiny town of Rodalquilar with it's great bars and restaurants. You're constantly surrounded by palms and cacti and birds and nature of all kinds it's a truly special setting. The pool area and the pool itself are great, set amid such drama with the surrounding mountains, really unique. My corner room (no.5) had such huge windows taking in all of that amazing scenery and a great wrap around sun deck. Lovely 35 minute walk to a very nice nearby sandy beach, great bar 5 mins walk away, others not much further.

Only tiny, tiny niggles. Breakfast was good but not great. The furniture in the room felt a little basic and the bathroom even more so. It has those big chunky soap dispensers fixed to the wall by the sink and also in the shower, the kind you find in public restrooms and schools etc. not especially nice. The walls are a little bit thin, you can hear the people next door when they're in the bathroom or using the coffee machine BUT these little details can't really detract from what was a very memorable stay.

Anna and Alfredo are molto bene! Those two are a credit to this hotel and make sure that guests are treated to an experience that is beyond expectations. I would love to adopt them both but they might think that’s a bit weird, which it is of course. If I could live here, I would. As Arnie once said, I’ll be back!

The first thing shower door was a bit iffy. No kettle No sea salt & black pepper grinders in the restaurant. The bedding sheets didn’t fit the bed, so that could be improved. The breakfast was inconsistent when Carmen served but was spot on when Alfredo served. Other than that it was perfect.

Oro y Luz is the perfect place for someone who appreciates nature and still wants to have excellent food, fine lodging and superior service. Everyone on staff is wonderful, and I particularly like Ana, who went out of her way to welcome me, recommend local beaches and sights, and accommodate my early check out time by having breakfast prepared for me ahead of time. The restaurant is great, both breakfast and dinner are phenomenal. I hope I will be able to return soon to stay here again.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. A terrace at the front and rear and decking with table and chairs and sun loungers. The pool was open during our stay in early October. Restaurant was very good with fantastic view. The area has some wonderful views. Highly recommended and our pet dog enjoyed her stay.

The flies although a fly swatter and insect spray were provided.Excellent

This is an exceptional hotel, built with vision, style and taste. and it has one of the best restaurants in the area and a good bar. But its secret is actually in the people who work there. Without exception they are all super professional, welcoming and efficient, but additionally, they are such pleasant people. It was a joy to stay there.

It would have great to have been able to stay another night or two, to have eaten again in the restaurant.

Location, dog friendly, quiet, great food. The whole staff team were brilliant. You can order breakfast en suite. Lots of grounds to wander around in.

It was just after a storm and high winds but the abundance of house flies in the suite were a nuisance. Judicious herb planting may help to counteract this. Suites could do with smaller, opening windows. Pity the bar in the grounds was closed due probably to being out of season.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The kitchenette was adequate for heating up a meal with pots and pans, cutlery and crockery. The breakfast was delicious.

Tried all breakfast menus. All great, fresh food, tasty, flavourful, local. Fantastic ambience, friendly and very helpful staff. The night sky and stars looked so close.

I believe room 6 has an adjoining door (in the kitchen area) with the restaurant so you have restaurant noise from 8pm to 11pm.

It's a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with very friendly,kind and helpful staff. The rooms are lovely and have kitchen facilities too. Really comfortable beautiful rooms. Definitely would love to return and highly recommend.
