Gateway Bekal is a new Taj property, just 7 months old. The resort is an excellent place to relax and have lots of fun. We stayed for 5 nights and had an amazing time. The staff is very well trained, courteous and humble. They all went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Special thanks to Priyanka and Divya who regularly checked on how comfortable we are. We went there for my wife’s birthday and the staff put in a lot of effort to make the day special for her. Really thankful for all the efforts. The restaurant is really well managed and serves very tasty food. Breakfast spread is also very good. The spa is also very good and my wife took a relaxing massage by Jasmine Bag and Facial by Channi. This. Is a perfect place to relax and move away from busy city life. We will definitely visit again. Also I would recommend this place to host a destination wedding.

All our expectations about our stay here were met and exceeded! The cottage we stayed in was very cozy with a small verandah and a gate at the porch, high ceilings inside with a wide king size bed, a jacuzzi in the bathroom and a private backyard overlooking the garden and the backwaters. It was quiet, serene, and blissful, to say the least. The staff were at the top of their game - warm, welcoming and well trained. We had a minor issue with the door to the patio and the jacuzzi which was promptly addressed even at a late hour - very impressive! The property is splendid and spectacular. Kudos to the management and the entire staff to get this up and running and for maintaining it impeccably. Coming back with my family for sure!

My wife and I are cycling in India. We had a fabulous stay at Gateway Bekal. We had a balcony room with a lovely view. Super clean and comfortable spacious room. Food at breakfast was excellent. Dinner buffet was excellent. A la carte menu is slightly expensive, but then it is the Taj group so we expect this. Staff everywhere were friendly, helpful and always professional, eager to please us, and responsive to every request we had - very impressive. The site is still being worked on - the spa, and bar are not working, and the Riverside walkway is not smooth. A short autorickshaw ride to Bekal Fort. Overall, a magnificent experience, which will be even better when the hotel is fully functional, and the extensive grounds have been nourished by one monsoon season.

Fans in the lobby should stay switched on to keep the area cool.

The property was beautiful, very clean. The pool view rooms were exceptional. Service was good, especially the reception team. Special mention to the person managing the night buffet, he was incredibly polite and helpful. The options are limited, however the food was very good. The swimming pool was massive and very clean. The buggies and umbrellas is such a plus when it is so sunny.

Would have appreciated more activities and perhaps information on 3rd party tours etc at the reception. Once the resort work is complete and gym and spa are all set up then it would be a great place to visit. It would be beneficial if the resort could offer boating tours as there is access to the backwaters. The conditioning shampoo doesn’t do the job of a conditioner, so a separate conditioner would have been great, especially after a swim. The reception waiting area can quite hot. My room did not have bathrobes, it would have been good to have robes.

Property is very scenic, and superbly maintained. Staff were well trained and courteous. Breakfast spread was good, and caters to different tastes and preferences. There is a Mohiniattam (traditional Kerala dance form) performance every evening around 5pm, which was a great experience, coupled with the high tea

The hospitality and the stay is amazing. Food is very good except we felt the oil used to Fried food like poori , dosa and was having bitter taste of oil . Except that food was amazing! Not to mention ice tea at hi-tea was amazing balance of sweetness and freshness please maintain that

It would have been great if they provide liquor. Since Bekal is a sear shore place i expected some sea food in the Buffet dinner but was not served.

The open space, friendly staff and the big room. Special mention about Priyanka who took great care of us.

Nothing as such but it is a new property so once they get the liquor license they will start selling alcohol. Also they will have more activities in future.

The room size, Aircon, wifi, TV were all top notch. I see that work on the open areas is still in progress and once complete, I would say that the resort is great value for money.

Stayed in room 432. The round table near the sofa had sharp edges.......please get it rounded.
