Breakfast was perfect via buffet system. Do not hesitate to ask the waiter for hot dishes (eggs, sausages, etc). Dinner was very tasty, also do not forget to ask for the dessert - they are perfect!!! Everything was very, very, very good ))) By the way, room with ghosts is 712. Be sure to visit the Minyona Tower for breathtaking 360 degree open view(!) Also after the parador you should visit Salt mine and tell that you are Parador's guests and get very pleasant discount for the tickets. Good luck to everybody!

Short stay term :-)

A unique experience, staying in a castle which was completely modernized in terms of the rooms, yet still retaining its ancient architecture and charm. The dining room where we had a delicioous breakfast was beautiful. Staff were friendly.

WE are used to having our bedroom very cool at night and the castle just has two temperatures - warm for winter and cool for summer. It was still in warm mode when we were there. However, that was was a minor inconvenience considering the rest of the room appointmnets - comfortable bed, great sheets and lovely bathroom.

What can I say? I hadn't told my husband exactly where we we're going, so when the hotel came into view and I pointed to where we were going, it was 'Wow, wow'. Fantastic accommodation and spectacular views. Easy 10 min walk into town down, but hot in the summer going up.

Parking. The parking for the castle is up a cobbled V shaped drive. Awkward at best, but really difficult on a motorbike or for nervious drivers. So if you leave your vehicle in the visitor carpark, you would then have to bring your bags up a really steep ramp. That's where they loose a point.

Living in a fortress with fabulous views! Like a queen and a king. Nice hotel rooms, restaurant and bar; very friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice place around each and every corner of the Parador. They even have a free sauna. The rooms were large with a window overseeing the old town of Cardona. And the window faced west for a perfect view of the sunset. The walk to the old town goes downhill but it only takes around 10 minutes.

The parking is difficult. There is little place right next to the reception. Too little for a car to park and other cars to pass. There is parking a little higher up. But there is only space for maybe 6 cars. Too few. Then there is parking further down with enough space. No problem to find a space there but you have to carry your luggage uphill. I understand: It's an old castle not built to accommodate cars and we had no problem with this. It was just confusing when I arrived.

This is a spectacular parador in a beautiful location in Cardona. Our rooms were well appointed with everything we needed. Staff were lovely, check-in smooth. There are 2 car parks, an upper and a lower one, there is no charge for these. Because of the location there isn’t a lot of parks and it is tight but okay. We had breakfast and dinner here ( I am Coeliac, and they cater really well for me. Overall it was a lovely stay.

The location is as spectacular as you hope it will be although it's the views OF the castle rather than from it that are amazing. Having said that, it's really interesting to see the unique salt mountain right next door. Make sure you go to the village of La Coromina to get the dramatic side view. Our twin room overlooking the cloister was great. The beds were very comfy (on the harder side perhaps for some?) and the Aircon kept the room at just the right temperature and wasn't noisy. It was roomy and had a good bathroom. The inside of the castle was really fabulous and it was a privilege to stay there. Take a torch to walk into the village (well worth it).

We had some bar food which was just okay, although the bar itself is a great place to have a drink and it's nice to have a cheaper option than the restaurant.

The Parador is extremely beautiful inside and out. The rooms are well appointed, and very comfortable. The staff go out of their way to make sure your enjoy your stay. We ate in the restaurant breakfast and dinner on both nights of our stay. I am Coeliac and the staff were very knowledgeable of food allergies, and gave me all the help I needed to choose the best dishes for me. We had a wonderful stay.

An absolutely spectacular position looking over the town and countryside. It was fun exploring this historic castle. The dining experiences were delicious and so were the wines. The room was comfortable and the bathroom modern with a great shower! The hotel staff were all delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Some signage to reception would really help along with pointers to the addition parking. If it was there, we missed it.

This place was incredible! Good value for the cost. Loved wondering around, photographing this amazing, historical castle! We stayed in several castles this trip and other trips. Think it’s my 2nd or maybe 3rd favorite castle of ALLLL the ones I’ve stayed at over the years. The staff was very friendly, spoke English well and were helpful. The room was nice and comfortable. The view from the castle (on top the hill) was wonderful, especially at sunset!

Order of room numbers is a bit confusing. The numbers aren’t in order. I got lost twice. The food, in the restaurant, was just “Ok” — not bad, but not great.

So 1st of all staying in a castle with a perfect price. Super nice staff we were late it was about restaurant closing time when we were going to check in and called hotel and they were nice enough to wait for us. Restaurant was fantastic. Great pairings between the tastes gives a feast good local wine option. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms were huge. Having a discounted castle tour was great as well. All around unforgettable stay
