The beautiful home was located in the heart of the town, which means it was in the middle of a maze. We persevered, and because the town is actually quite small, in a very few minutes we found free parking in a garage below the Municipal Archaeological Exhibition. This proved to be a very short, easy walk from our destination. Soon we were ushered into a lovely room and given a tour of the inn. This included a visit to a sitting area on the roof, which looked out over the adjacent Plaza of the Constitution (note this) and the city, but also gave a fine view of the remarkable Almodovar castle. We walked up the hill to the castle, which only required a few minutes. We had to depart early the next morning for a long drive, and our hosts were kind enough to pack us a bagged breakfast.

There was a nice restaurant close by on the Plaza, with outside and inside tables. We needed to eat at about 5:30pm, and they were not set up yet; few restaurants in Spain are. But they were kind enough to provide some already-prepared food, which was good as well as appreciated. We had no complaints.

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They took us a on a little tour of the property upon arrival. The property is beautiful - an old house in the heart of the village - and beautifully restored and well kept of, they are and can be very proud of their little gem on the main square of Almodovar. The location is perfect near a few restaurants and overlooking the main square. Bonus for the wonderful views of the castle from the terrace. The breakfast was good and varied too. We stayed only one night but enjoyed it a lot!

It was a beautiful building in the heart of town. On arrival I was given a guided tour of the building and shown the roof terrace. The palacio had been beautifully and thoughtfully renovated and the owners were justifiably proud of the results. Although I did not need it my accessible room on the ground floor was well equipped to accommodate those who need greater access. There was no problem parking my bicycle in an internal patio. The owners could not have been more helpful accommodating my requirements.

During a tour of Andalusia in October, I spent a night in Fuentepiedra, near Cordoba, with my husband in a room at Fuentepiedra Casa Rural. The property does not have a reception, but by calling the telephone number specified on the intercom we were able to contact the owners who welcomed us immediately. The room was located on the ground floor of a beautiful historic building. It was new, large, bright and carefully set back. The bed was large and very comfortable. The breakfast room was reached by a flight of stairs and the breakfast was well assorted. The location is quiet and allows you to reach Cordoba in a few minutes by car.

The check-in procedure could be improved, as the owners do not answer the intercom but only the telephone.

Beautiful building, completely authentic - we chose it for the experience and it didn't disappoint. Roof terrace lovely for an evening drink (BYO) looking at the castle and the stars. Comfortable bed, good linen, nice bathroom, strong shower, good air-con. Location perfect, easy free parking in several places around town, nice bars/restaurants/cafes very close and 5-minute drive to the castle.

A shame to scrimp on little things that make a difference. Breakfast basic, as lots of others have said, and not befitting a superior casa rural; fresh bread and orange juice but almost everything else in plastic pots (oil, jam, tomato, butter, buns). Coffee in a flask and not the usual Spanish quality. Much, much better/fresher breakfast available very cheaply in the nearby cafés so would recommend eating out. Toiletries also in plastic & made in China - disappointing as they made a point of telling us about the glass bottle of tap water being better for the environment (lip-service always a disappointment - rather they didn't mention it unless they really care).

This is a really attractive historic building. The rooms are spacious and with high ceilings. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is on one side of the attractive central square of the town (and very close to excellent restaurants and the castle), but due to the thick walls and location of the bedroom it is very quiet in the hotel.

The owners are a lovely couple who obviously take great pride in their hotel. This is an old building that has been lovingly restored into a beautiful small hotel. The whole place was very clean and the rooms are modernised with super comfortable beds. The view of the castle from the roof terrace in the evening is superb. If you are a Game of Thrones fan or visiting the area for a wedding at the castle, this hotel is an excellent location for you. There are several great restaurants right outside the hotel and also some close by convenience stores.

We had a slight issue with parking but this was mainly because it was Carnival weekend and of course no fault of the hotel.

Very kind hosts and what a stunning property - an old Córdoba house renovated with such taste - wonderful to get a feel of how rich people lived at the turn of the last century. Impeccably clean everywhere and excellent comfy bedding. Breakfast was copious and delicious. Free parking just round the corner. Excellent value for money

Completely restored traditional city house at the main square, tasteful furniture, private owners take care perfectly, parking nearby around the corner. Rooftop terrace with a free view to the castle.

No TV, however, the WiFi is good!

Our place was clean and peaceful. The owners went out of their way to makeyou feel welcomed and comfortable. The roofrop aeea was my favorite place to end the evening drinking a glass if wine admiring the castle and the town of Almodovar. Outstanding value!
