We stayed in the old stables. The room was beautifully decorated in an old style but everything was there that you would need. It’s a beautiful area full of history. The breakfast venue in the old monastery was amazing. Staff were very helpful, professional and polite.

Lovely historic setting. Fantastic location by lake Vättern. Beautiful room. Breakfast was very excellent and so was dinner at the restaurant. The spa that is situated close by was also very good.

I would have liked an iron and ironing board in the room.

The location and room was amazing! The staff was super friendly. Breakfast was good and diverse.

There was a kind of jaccuzi installed in our bathroom but it was very difficult to operate. No option for a normal shower either, there was a shower head but no way to attach it to the wall. Washing our hair was difficult therefore.

This place was magnificent. It is perfect for any traveler, whether solo or with family. Trying to briefly describe this place won't do it justice because it feels like a world of its own within our world. The hotel is like a small city with its own unique atmosphere, where each building is both a hotel and a museum at the same time.

We stayed in the small castle villa right next to the Vadstena castle and absolutely loved it. Really unique hotel, fantastic historic buildings and great meals.

Booking through booking.com makes it hard to know where your accommodation will be, as the hotel's buildings are spread across the town.

We had a lovely stay here in a beautiful, historical and comfortable suite with a very luxurious bathtub. Great location. Amazing breakfast. Our third time staying here and we would love to return again in the future.

For such a romantic suite, the bed could be a bit more comfortable for couples. So unromantic with two separate mattresses and duvets - but this is unfortunately very common at Swedish hotels.

Very cosy and charming room in "lilla klostergården", with a private sauna and jacuzzi. Good breakfast. Great dinner in a beautiful hall. Helpful staff. The park and the surroundings are amazing.

I think the breakfast times need to be pro-longed. The only option was between 7-9am. Great location, pleasantly surprised with the bubble bath in the bathroom. Nice historical interior.

Need to walk up steps to room but very nice place to stay. There are other buildings without steps.

The location could hardly be more picturesque and it was wonderful to spend some time in such a beautiful and welcoming place. The quality of the meals in the hotel was exceptional! We'll certainly miss the liquorice-infused bread, but all the food was excellent. The Spa is also well worth a visit.
