What was there not to like? The location is quite central, with a shopping mall, a great food street in the vicinity, and a great coffee cafe on the top floor of the same building. The room is big enough, in the traditional style as far as the decor, very charming, all facilities work well, the shower is a delight, A/C, although not the newest model, is very effective. The housekeeping are fantastic. The linen is crisp and clean and a pleasure to sleep on. My bed was amazing: not to soft, exactly what my back needed. And the gem of this hotel is the reception team: the two ladies - the head of the reception and the receptionist - go an extra mile for the guests by giving advice, information, qr-codes of the scenic spots' mini-programs, etc. They help you change ticket details, explained what routes in the national park would work the best, how different lines, and transportation in the national parks works and many-many more things. Anine's breakfasts are legendary: you choose the type of breakfast and the time when you want it to be served and voila! Coffee latte at breakfast is iconic and would win from many coffee vendors in Europe. I personally had a feeling I was treated like family at this hotel, so I would like to thank you, ladies, for making my days in Zhangjiajie such a great experience!

I loved everything

The staff were amazing and lovely! My spouse and I were the only people staying as it was Chinese New Year and the staff welcomed us to join them to watch the CCTV gala together. Delicious food, lovely people, and an amazing cultural experience I doubt we could have gotten anywhere else. The room was clean and very nice with hot water and great heating. The check-in area was very comfortable with the heated tables and a lovely view. The staff included English speakers which was very comforting, but the check-in process was so simple that English wouldn't have been needed. It was an amazing stay and we would definitely come back!

My daughter and I found this to be a delightful place to stay. The inn is full of interesting antiques and arrangements, and even sell antiques which was a bonus for me. They have an excellent English speaking worker present at the inn. Each guest chooses one breakfast meal from out of 4 the night before to have prepared for you at your needed time. They were always tasty and if you order orange juice~ it will be fresh squeezed. The rooms are comfortable, my only issue was with a light the shown right above our heads. After I mentioned it to them, they quickly adjusted them to not shine during the night. The inn has a fun personality, the staff is very friendly, the food was great, and it’s comfortable. I highly recommend it!!!

The staff was very attentive and helpful! They even had someone who could speak spanish (muchas gracias Pato!) to help us out with travel plans and recommendations, which is not at all common in China. The hotel breakfast is great and so was the dining! The hotel was super accommodating, and helped prepare special food for a friend who had stomach trouble. We booked with breakfast included but had to leave early on the last day before they were serving breakfast, so instead of breakfast they covered our transport to the train station! The hotel is well located, considering that the attractions in Zhangjiajie are all outside the city at the different national parks.

A wonderful little place. Super friendly and helpful staff who helped us plan our trip and navigate all the things to do in ZJJ mountains. The whole place had a really cosy feel to it - surprising for somewhere as urban as ZJJ city, but it was such a pleasure. The main area is full of old TVs and radios and other vintage memorabilia, there are comfortable leather sofas, and the breakfast is REALLY GOOD - one of the best I've had in China. We really liked the "mountain chalet" feel of the bedroom too - wooden rafters / beams on the ceiling. It was a fairly simply, cosy room, but that's what we wanted and - importantly - it was exactly as it had been depicted in the photos on booking.com. It felt simple and honest, which was a very welcome experience when visiting a region full of tourists who are often exploited. Overall a really positive experience, made exceptional by Anine at the front desk who - with the help of her trusty translator - helped us plan our itinerary, gave us maps for our walks and even spent a lot of time helping us book tickets! Thank you Anine!

There wasn't much to dislike about this place! The rooms are quite simple/rustic, so if you're planning to stay here, manage your expectations - this isn't an ultra-luxury 5-star hotel experience, but you get what you pay for, and for the price and location, it is exceptionally good value :)

The location was excellent. 2 streets down was the market and we could buy fresh fruit & food. The Teppanyaki roasted duck was excellent. The staff & owner were very pleasant and friendly and helpful esp with our luggage handling. The coffee (double espresso) was excellent. The hotel is located in modern building but the decor was old rustic style with pottery and old television sets everywhere. There were also Chinese teapots and cups on display. Very interesting. Worth a look. And coffee. The rooms were very decent and clean.

We went at the end of February when outside temperatures were 4deg Celsius. The under table heating was great but ambient temperatures were still very cold. One had to brave the cold coming down for breakfast

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The accommodation was spotless, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to Patrick, who went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, he helped us plan our visit to the Avatar Mountains and the Ancient Town, ensuring we made the most of our time. When one of us fell ill, he even assisted in getting the necessary medication. His English is excellent, and he was always ready to help with anything we needed. Another highlight of our stay was Eli’s kindness. Even though breakfast is usually served between 7:30 and 9:30, she was willing to prepare our meal at 6 AM so we could catch our train with a full stomach. We truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture. Overall, this hotel offers not only comfort and cleanliness but also an incredibly warm and helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Wangyi is a charming vintage-style hotel with elegant decor and a unique touch. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are wonderful, and the food is absolutely delicious! If you're a vegetarian, this might be the only place in Zhangjiajie that offers fully vegan meals—even restaurants may not have them. But if you’re not, like me, you’ll still enjoy amazing food! I had such a great time here. The hotel also has volunteers who speak English and Spanish, which is fantastic. Plus, they provide detailed travel guides—so thoughtful! I’ll definitely stay here again next time.

Everything is so nice!

The hotel is located in one of the most commercial streets of the city, with a lot of restaurants, cafes and shopping stores, taxis and Didi are very easy to hire as you are in the city center, the location is convenient for going to the train station, airport, natural park, and all the tourist attractions, The breakfast is good and the installations are also ok, the price is ok comparing with other hotels around, best quality price, all the staff is ver friendly, especially Anine, she was all the time taking care of my logistic needs for going to all the tourist attractions, helping me to book all the tickets and giving me all the information I needed on how to spend my 3 days at Zhangjiajie tourist attractions, this was very helpful and I really appreciate it because she made my time very enjoyable.

This hotel was absolutely charming! The design was so captivating—traditional yet right in the heart of the city. Stepping inside, it was even better than I’d imagined. Everything was clean, well-organized, and perfect. The breakfast was delicious, too. Above all, Ms. Anine was incredibly kind and caring. She went above and beyond to help us plan our 3-day stay in the city, even booking tickets for us. Thanks to her and this wonderful hotel, we had an unforgettable experience in Zhangjiajie!
