The Inn sits atop a hillside, nestled between rows of grapes and fruit/nut trees, as far as the eye can see! It looks like something out of a fairy tale! We arrived after dark, direct from Milan airport. Using GPS and directions from the hosts, we were able to find the place quite easily! Simon met us at the door and showed us to our room. The room we were in was spacious and comfortable! We appreciated the larger bed! We went out and sat on the balcony to unwind from our long flight from Los Angeles. Eva was kind enough to prepare a charcuterie board and wine for us, and it was much appreciated! They actually raise pigs there on the property and make sausages and meats from them, to serve to guests! That’s not all! The upstairs kitchen is available to guests, 24/7. The table is covered in different types of sweet breads, fresh hazelnuts from their trees, honey from their bees, pastries made from their own peaches, cookies, persimmons from their trees and of course, wine made from their vineyard! The refrigerator was full of water, juice and beer. Breakfast was served every morning. We spent some time walking through the vineyard and appreciating the beautiful green hillsides, dappled with orange, yellow,and red trees of autumn. We spent the days driving to various destinations close by- Torino, Asti, and little places in between. This is a great place to stay if you want a “Base camp” within an hour of many other sites to see. I highly recommend a truffle hunt in Alba! If you are into cars, don’t miss the Auto museum in Torino! I really can’t think of anything negative about staying at Al Canei! This is such a lovely family, it was our pleasure to spent the week with them! If you are looking for excellent, affordable Italian cuisine, you must go to Il Re Ignorante Osteria! Simone and Eva were the BEST hosts ever!!! We had car trouble in Asti, miles from the BnB, and Simone came out to help us, staying over two hours to help communicate with the car rental company. He then arranged for a family friend to come into town and take us to the BnB (rental car went away). Then Simone and Eva made us dinner the first night, exceptional food and wine, to help us get over losing our car. They went way above and beyond to help us, and we will be forever grateful for their hospitality and generosity!!!

Everything at the property is fabulous. Eva and Simone are amazing hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. The views from their home are amazing. Lovely to see all of their hard work paying off with the smooth running of the B&B and their farm areas. Fantastic home produced wine, fruit, veg, eggs, preserves and chutneys. Eva gave us the most amazing breakfast before we left, couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Getting to the property was a little awkward but good directions given by the hosts and the offer of coming to get us if we got a little lost was appreciated, but we didn’t need it.

Excellent selection of foods and drinks at breakfast. Most or all was produced locally and/or by the proprietor. The food was tasty and plentiful. We received all that we asked for and more. The family running the farm were very friendly and accommodating. I can say without hesitation that our stay at Al Canei was by far the best we have stayed at in many years. We would heartily recommend this wonderful piece of paradise to anyone.

Second stay at this delightful BnB in the Italian countryside. Situated on a hazelnut and peach orchard with chickens in the yard and a beautiful vista down the valley. Room was spacious with lovely view and good wifi and air-conditioning. A substantial breakfast with eggs and fruit and beautiful homemade conserves and cake was provided by the friendly generous hosts.

Hosts, Simon and Eva very hospitable and accommodative. Owners are a family with ongoing tradition in agriculture. The premise is a traditional country house, well renovated, with a lovely veranda facing the cultivated hill side. Enjoyed so many top family products from their plantation at the rich home-made breakfast! If you like an accommodation immersed in the magnificent Piemonte countryside, this is the one.

Nothing minor can bypass this so hospitable experience!

If I could give this property 11 out of 10 I would. This is a farmhouse located a few kilometres out of Asti with the most beautiful views down the valley. There is a lovely covered terrace where guests can sit. The bedrooms are large and air conditioned, with very comfortable beds. The hosts Simone and Eva were absolutely lovely, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Eva provided the most exceptional breakfast every morning and we were also able to have aperitivi and dinner by arrangement, all produce from their farm and utterly delicious. This is one of the very best places we have stayed in Italy and we would go back again in a heartbeat. Thank you Eva and Simone!

Nothin - it was perfect.

Eva and Simone are very friendly hosts. On short notice they organized a dinner appetizer with homegrown products from their farm and garden and traditional pasta they make, very delicious. Also breakfast was very good, with specialties from the region, home baked tarts, sweets, seasonal fruits and lots of other choices. Amazing. The B&B is located near Asti for sightseeing but still rural enough to enjoy quiet nights.

Lovely location with a beautiful view and wonderful hosts who grow lots of produce and share a huge spread for breakfast each morning. They even offered us homemade gelato made from peaches they grow on the property when we returned from dinner. One of my favorite stays ever!

Beautiful home/farmstay situated amongst peach and hazelnut tree orchards with chickens and pigs too. Lovely large room with aircon and refrigerator and well equipped bathroom. Large communal terrace with lovely view down the valley and dining room area for delicious breakfast. Coffee available any time. All produce including wine produced on the farm. Wonderful generous host Simon who encouraged us to walk through the orchard and get some delicious peaches and who provided wine he made for us to drink.
