Elaia hotel is situated in a lovely neighborhood with a lot of street parking. The place is lively with young and old people, and dogs and cats in the late evenings and nights. There is a beautiful breeze blowing throughout the day and it's on a hill so you can look out and see the city lights in the evenings. Our room was lovely - it was the double room with two windows on the first floor, very breezy and cool. The location is very central and a few minutes' walking to many great places to eat (try Pala Kebabs). The hosts Vedat and Nur are generous and kind and very helpful. Google maps does not give the best directions in Bergama (in fact they were always wrong) so please use the d40 if you're driving, to get out of the town, as well as to the Asklepion and follow Vedat's instructions about the basilica and Akropolis. Breakfasts were hot and fresh and lovely. Toiletries are minimal, but that's fine. We felt like we were staying in a warm and loving neighborhood where people looked out for each other. Just a very nice experience and one we would love to return to.
I felt a little worried about some parched plants on the balcony haha. But Vedat is a conscientious fellow. If you have mobility issues, note that the double rooms are on the first floor.

This is a home that has been recreated as 4 units. It is charming-and has all the small necessities needed by a traveler-closet space, hangers, plenty of hooks. We also appreciated that we could just step out of our door to make coffee or tea, and I was able to store some food in the refrigerator. We were ambivalent about making the trek to Bergama in the heat just to see Pergamon and drive back to Izmir to be ready for our flight home. But we were delighted that we did-even though Pergamon was closed because of the Eid holiday! It was a wonderful reminder of Turkey as it was many years ago. And the restaurant across the street/the Akropol-is excellent!

Everything. The house is an antique itself, situated in the old town, where the streets are narrow and paved. It was very cosy and impeccable clean. The yard had the comfort of the privacy despite the proximity of the houses in the aria. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors we met were friendly. Vedat was very kind and helpful. We were delayed on the border but he waited for us and accommodated us on our late arrival. He answered all of our questions, told us the story of the house and it was very nice of him to ask us what time would be ok for us to have breakfast. The breakfast was one of a kind too - prepared especially for us in the house, fresh and delicious, it included some typical local meals we have never tasted. Thank you very much, Vedat! It was pleasure to meet you and stay in your house. 🙂

Beautiful part of the old town, the "Greek" side of Bergama. Once we found it, after some hairy driving on teeny roads, our host was very welcoming and the bed was comfy. The views from the upstairs bedroom were really stunning and the hotel was charming. He recommended the Akripole Restaurant across the street where we enjoyed a lovely meal with delicious wines and really good service. He also organised taxis for us to go and visit the Acropolis the next morning and mentioned the market for delicious food.
The signage in the town to find the hotel. We arrived at night and although he gave us a map, it was really hard not to get lost.

The owner is a real gentleman. He took care of us from the moment we arrived and made sure all our questions were answered. The fact that he speaks English also helps. The house is a historic house (farm house?) from the late 19th century and now it is being run as a small inn. Vintage furniture and great hospitality make this place a 10 out of 10 everyday. Great recommendation for the restaurant across the street.
Google maps tries to take you through many street to the hotel. If you are in a car, there is one good way. You should ask the owner the way before you start following google's shortest path.

The hotel has three units. One on the ground floor and two on the first floor. We were in the unit on the ground floor. It was a room with a king bed and a double bed. Just outside the room there was a kettle, tea coffee, water dispenser, washing machine and a table with chairs which were all for our use. There was parking in front of the hotel on the street. Everything was clean. Overall the accommodation was comfortable. The host was very kind, helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was substantial and well presented.

Excellent host, always available and helpful. Lovely room in an older building. Lots of room, nice bathroom. An easy walk to the nearby commercial area, restaurants, etc. Only a short drive or taxi ride to the archeological site at Pergamon. Excellent breakfast in the central courtyard.
The room only had on moderate-sized window so not a lot of natural light. Not a big issue.

Everything was perfect! My room was 1 of 3 in on old house in the historic part of Bergama. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. But....thank goodness no tv or lots of cushions on the bed! A small terrace was enough outside space as there is a communal area outside of the house. Good wifi. Berat was an excellent host and willing to share information on the area. The Olive Tree is well located to drive or walk to the Acropolis of Pergammon. I was sad to leave.😭😭😭
There was nothing to dislike!

One of my best stays ever - maybe even the best one. The house itself, in which every detail has been thought out both practically and aesthetically, is comfortable and makes you want to be there. Its immediate surroundings and the neighborhood as a whole are very lively - but not in a touristy sense, but in a natural way. The owner and the service staff are above and beyond praise. Don't hesitate and grab the opportunity if you can - you will be very happy with your choice.

Elaia Hotel’s very homely and comfortable. The hotel’s in quite a quiet neighbourhood but within a walkable distance to Bergama city centre, around 10 minutes walk to the Red Basilica and 15 minutes walk to the Acropolis Cable Car. Breakfast’s extremely nice — it’s great to have hot home-cooked food before spending the whole day exploring Pergamon! There’s a water cooler and a lot of spaces to sit in the sun. There’s also 2 local minimarts and a restaurant nearby. Vedat’s also super welcoming and helpful, thanks again!
Everything was great
