It was created out of an old bank building, so it has lots of character, and a very nice collection of antique furniture and art Sculptures, convenient, parking reasonably priced

I’ve been doing this shit for several years and the check-in and checkout is always a little bit slow but I think it’s because they’re not as modern as some of the Hotels. I like it for that reason that it is not new so it’s a trade-off.

The hotel location is right at the heart of Surakarta City, walking distance to The Royal Palace and Pasar Gedhe. Lovely morning walk at the alun-alun. Wonderful lobby with antique javanese ornaments.

The room facility is out of expectation, everything looks very basic and not represent the fancy lobby. Although the Junior Suite is very spacious. Breakfast were not much variety on daily basis, everything was the same. Hot food were left cold, empty trays were unsupervised and ants everywhere!! Very dissapointing for a boutique hotel service.

There was a leaking in the bathroom when we checked in and without hassle we get a new room immediately. Staffs were very helpful and courteous. Rooms are clean, hotel location is perfect in city centrum, great varieties of breakfast.

We went for swimming in the morning but there were no staff around the pool, no clean towels were available. the walk from the pool to the toilet and changing room need to pass by the gym which makes the gym floor all wet and slippery.

The lobby is stunning, the aesthetic elements along the corridor are amazing…Swimming pool is perfect for exercise a bit and relaxing without children’s noises…The location is closed to Pasar Gede which is kept its authentic…The bed and pillows are all perfect for deep sleep…The room service has a warm way of saying thank you…

Experiencing bedroom interior that is far from the advertising images…Please you have to upscale the bedrooms’ interior because it looks a bit creepy. If you do these interior refreshment so you will bring the best customer experience of staying there…regardless of the building’s exterior.

Walking in to the hotel is incredible!! Beautiful and mostly batik-themed decor in every corner, including the rooms. Some things I enjoyed: - The resturant service for breakfast and meals is wonderful. A nice menu with enough to try out during my stay - There are shops selling art made by local artisans, including incredibly high quality hand drawn batik, clothes and unique souvenirs - People are so friendly at the hotel (and in Solo too!) and always have fantastic recommendations for what to see in the city - Location; less than 20 minutes walk to Palaces Mankunegaran and Kasunanan (Kasunanan is a difficult route, so I recommend taking transport to this one)...a short walk to Kampung Batik Kauman and the Antique Markets - Safe for solo travellers, especially the close proximity to many of the city's main attractions - Great extra amenities (like the pool, massages etc.) which unfortunately I didn't get time to try - Bottles of water provided and refreshed in the room every day - Very clean room, antique decor, comfortable bed

The aircon is a little loud but the room stays cool for a very long time, which is great!

The staff were fabulous and our rooms (Junior Suites) were huge. Comfortable beds and large well equipped bathrooms with great thick soft towels . Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Only ate one evening meal at the restaurant but wasn’t impressed.

The big thing that bothered me about The Royal Surakarta was the A/C. Our room never got cool enough to be comfortable and there was a dampness issue.

The room was spacious and designed with a lot of wood material, so it's classy and elegant. The location was great, walking distance to a lot of places of interests. The breakfast offered a lot of options and taste good.

We didn't realise that our room was in the middle, so there was no natural light because it has no window to the outside. If you prefer a windowed room, better get different type of room.

Nice room, good air conditioning. Nice location. Very beautiful interior inside the hotel. There's a traditional Javanese live music in the morning, it gives an extra accent to the experience. Very nice.

Breakfast was not the best compared to other hotels I have stayed in, in Solo. Some food stayed too long on the table in my opinion. There were however some fresh food (made by request), the problem was there was no exhaust so the smoke stayed in the dining room. When one ordered for example spicy (let's say) noodles, the spicy air stayed in the dining room and even some people sneezed several times. I ordered omelette, it was delivered way later when i was eating my dessert. I had to turn it back.

The hotel boasts a classic ambiance and a strategic location, conveniently situated near shopping centers, batik stores, culinary spots, and souvenir shops. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the room facilities are somewhat dated but still functional. Basic amenities are provided. The breakfast options are limited and lack variety.

The staff's hospitality could be improved; despite completing payment at reception, there were repeated phone calls to the room inquiring about payment status.

aStayed at Novotel for 4 nights as Royal Heritage was closed. We each had a suite at Novotel. the manager #2 was excellent. Very friendly and efficient. The waitress Fanny was excellent ...very helpful and friendly. The Driver was also excellent.
