Quiet and relaxing private location. Everything is at hand, a separate private beach with sunbeds and service. There is a good bistro and an excellent restaurant by the sea and swimming pools. I greet Florian... At the Tivoli Hotel, we were attended to by a very friendly concierge, Pietro, to whom I thank and greet...

At breakfast, some of the waiters were a bit "off" and we didn't get a cocktail in the Longue bar. But that's nothing important...

This is a wonderful place for a visit. The rooms are spacious and modern. Beds are comfortable with good pillows. Excellent breakfast is served both in and outside. If Macarena serves you, you will start your day with a smile- guaranteed. Attentive service and a wonderful pool area makes for an excellent stay.

My only complaint is the gym. It is basically unusable for anything other than limited machine cardio. Hotels should be held to a certain standard to be able to claim that they have a training center /gym.

The beach beds were awful - we spent over £2k for 2 nights in 2 rooms …this included 2 evening meals and drinks ….surely for that amount of money we could have been given a pool bed!!!

The property is in a lovely marina, the rooms are big, comfortable and clean. And the views are amazing. A gorgeous place to stay.

There was a wedding party during our 3 night stay which we were not aware of till we arrived and this meant that we were not allowed to use the main pool/bar. No problem we liked the pool we were at even though it was smaller. Then on the second day we were told we needed to leave that area as the wedding party were using the space dedicated to hotel guests. We were offered a sun lounger else where but it wasn’t by the pool so we decided to head to the beach. We were then asked to leave the beach as the sun loungers were booked out all year?! It was 5.30pm there was barely anyone there! I thought this was a little ridiculous. This tainted what was otherwise a lovely stay.

We picked this property because of the pool and private beach access as we had a short 2-day stay and didn’t want to have to manage with the crowds and parking at the public beach. The facility is beautiful and very upscale. The breakfast buffet was amazing and all the staff were super friendly. Finally dedicated parking under the facility was a huge plus and stress reliever as the area is very crowded in high season.

This is a very upscale property and you need to feel comfortable with that. We are a bit more casual, so at times felt out of place relative to the other guests. Also there was a wedding going on that weekend and the festivities were fairly loud with loud music playing well into the night. It was fine as we shut our windows and used AC but something to be mindful of in high season.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The location is outstanding - conveniently situated near key attractions, making exploration effortless. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced the overall experience. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, reflecting a high standard of cleanliness and care. The hotel’s atmosphere was both inviting and aesthetically pleasing, creating a relaxing environment that felt like a home away from home.

The dining experience left room for improvement. While the food quality was commendable, the variety was limited, and the menu became repetitive over the course of my stay. Additionally, there were instances where coffee orders were forgotten, and I noticed that some waitstaff had issues with personal hygiene, which detracted from the overall dining experience. On a personal note, I found certain dishes, like the salmon tartare, not to my taste, though this is subjective.

When was the last time you came across a maître d'hôtel who sees his job as an art form of creating memorable moments? Fabrizio deserves a PhD in hospitality, as does the rest of the team. Catarina is a receptionist who doubles as a well-versed local guide and a professional from head to toe. She remained tolerant and kind even when a demanding guest vexed her over the phone. How wonderful it is to be a guest in a hotel where you are not just a number but a cherished guest for whom each staff member goes the extra mile. The extraordinary experience continued at breakfast The new management, Minor Hotels, understands the essence of hospitality. Their involvement is a guarantee of quality. Their portfolio comprises over 550 hotels spread around the globe. Are you familiar with names such as Anantara, Avani or NH Hotels? Finally, we must compare the former Hotel Falisia with the new Hotel Tivoli. A breath of fresh air and a new hospitable approach have helped the hotel evolve. The architecture is ageing elegantly, acquiring a refined patina. Not least, the diversified offerings give the hotel substance. The question remains: which is better - the former Hotel Falisia or the new Hotel Tivoli? Although we prefer to avoid answering such questions, the numbers speak for themselves. Hotel Tivoli is captivating and designed for those who want premium quality. In this light, Tivoli Portopiccolo Resort is eyeing other flagship incentive hotels that dot the Adriatic and aiming to claim the top spot.

Access from the road could be better labelled. That means you may end up at the wrong entrance. Apart from this, the hotel seems flawless.

Staff, breakfast and a hotel itself

We had reservation for room with balcony/terrace, but we get a room only with windows without balcony

It was such a lovely place and the staff was very friendly.

It was very difficult to find. I was traveling by car.

We were warmly greeted on arrival. We arrived at 12.30pm and our room was not ready. So, the receptionist kindly said we can use one of the spa rooms to get changed and suggested we go over to the beach club. The beach club is a great addition, although we did have to pay more to get access to the pool. We received a text when the room was ready and it was beautiful, on the front of the marina and very well decorated. The bathroom was lovely. The only issue was that the shower door didn't allow for a towel to be placed down whilst opening into the main bathroom area. We didn't realize breakfast was only served until 10.30am, so despite us arriving around that time the receptionist kindly let us in regardless. He was very helpful when we asked to call for a taxi, however we were surprised and had no idea that a hotel would have trouble getting a taxi into the main city of Trieste! Fortunately some other guests were very kind to let us ride with them - all arranged by the receptionist. Fantastic service and made the overall panic over missing our cruise disappear!

Despite asking the receptionist whom suggested different lunch places to eat in Portopiccolo, they were all closed when we went to them. He was not aware that they would be closed. A shame as during the day you'd think they would be open for guests! There was a huge thunderstorm during the day when we were at the Purobeach club. There was not enough space for everyone to go underneath the main area, so we were all getting soaked! It would be good if the canopy area could be extended.
