Le Grand Saint-Marc was a spectacular surprise. It's difficult to overstate my pleasure at staying here. I was long-distance cycle touring, had suffered a non-trivial accident 50km south, and needed a little comfort and recovery time. My 'attic' room was lovely, with heaps of space, an excellent bathroom, and great fixtures. The entry door is suitably 'heritage' in character, from when ppl on average were even shorter than me. Bump, oops. Tall folk beware. The staircase up to my room is not for folk with mobility problems, although the property does also have ground floor rooms. The room was not air-conditioned, and I did stay during some hot weather, but the many windows and two excellent fans were perfectly adequate. I think breakfasts were probably my highlight. The host - Francois (IIRC) - was lovely and very knowledgeable of the foods and coffees he was providing me. I lingered - forever - over breakfast. The accommodation, and there are several options, is in an heritage stone building within a large walled land holding. There's gardens, trees, and open areas all around.

I got lost finding the property, because the address does not send you to the entry gate on map apps. Afterwards I did find the message clarifying the correct approach ... but I wonder if the Booking(dot)com entry can be tuned so the map-app approach does not lead folk astray.

Quiet and calming with secure parking and nice facilities. The owner was lovely and very helpful. We only stayed one night breaking up a long drive. Breakfast was delicious and hefty. The quality of the bedding and toiletries were great. We had a lovely private seating area which was very peaceful and calm. We were somewhat stressed during our visit as our son had just had an emergency operation on our holiday so this hotel was a lovely luxurious and comfortable stop for us. We would love to go back one day to enjoy the calming surroundings and to explore the area which looked lovely.

We couldn’t get the coffee maker to work (but that was probably just us being useless).

Le Grand Saint Marc is an oasis of calm and heritage on the edge of Vendome, which is itself a fascinating historic town. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Our host was very kind and helpful. We will certainly return in the future as there is more in the area we want to see.

If you want to eat out in Vendome then don't choose to stay on a Monday night - only one restaurant in town is open (and that was closed for holidays the night we stayed). However everything about the accommodation was perfect.

Very clean and comfortable apartment in a beautiful garden setting. The owner is very friendly and attentive, breakfast is included and was very good

The entrance to the apartment is up an outside staircase so as an older couple we found that it was not really suitable for us. There is only one window in the apartment, in the bedroom. The house is beautiful but not within walking distance to town

A wonderful welcome from a great host. The location and surroundings were a peaceful oasis that oozed French manoir life. The breakfast was delicious and again our host was very attentive serving wonderful coffee with breads, jams and croissants to die for

The room was lovely but if you’re tall look out for the door and beams. Also the beam across the floor is a tricky one to manoeuvre and a potential trip hazard

Excellent host, outstanding breakfast with good local products, beautiful setting in huge walled garden, charming, well designed and furnished rooms in an 18th century private mansion, easy parking onsite.

Only issue is the location, which is too far to walk to Vendome, hence we drove in to dinner in the evening.

A delightful conversion of the chateau outbuildings, a lovely beamed room (watch your head), a charming and interesting host who has restored the chateau and its grounds beautifully and ecologically. An excellent breakfast served in the sunny garden. All a delight - we are still drinking and eating the estate wines and preserves we bought.

All was delightful and very interesting, Vendome centre also lovely - nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was a good continental, i.e. with additions if desired of meats and cheeses. The host was helpful with the valise, carrying it up the outside stairs and offering, on departure, to do so too. The room was spacious and in good taste.

The outside staircase was not ideal and a bit slippery in the rain. Assistance in finding a restaurant could have been better developed ("there are so many; just look around")

Lovely welcome to be greeted with a choice of hot drinks/beer/wine. The owner spoke excellent English and gave us a key to the side gate so we could walk into town and back for our dinner. An easy flat 25 minute walk to the town centre. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well furnished with a large comfortable bed, two comfortable reclining chairs and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was delivered to our room on the dot and comprised croissant/bread/fruit/yogurt etc plus ham and cheese had we wanted them. All of the preserves were homemade.

Nothing - although it would have been nice if the weather had been warm enough to eat our breakfast outside!

We received a warm welcome from Francois and the service was personal and thorough. The accommodation was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was great to have tea and coffee making facilities in our room. The breakfast came via room service and it was excellent. Francois was very helpful in suggesting places to eat in the evening and providing directions into Vendome town centre.
