I just wrapped up a 9-night stay at the Ponderosa Motel in Enterprise, Oregon, and I’m honestly impressed. The rooms are spotless, roomy, and thoughtfully laid out—plenty of outlets, comfy beds, and big windows that let in that beautiful Wallowa Mountain light. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in their work; everything—from the fresh towels to the perfectly made bed—was hotel-chain crisp but with that independent-motel warmth. Location is another win. You’re seconds from downtown Enterprise, a quick drive to Joseph, and practically at the doorstep of Wallowa Lake and the Eagle Cap Wilderness. After day of exploring, coming back to a hot shower and a quiet room felt like luxury. Staff deserve a special shout-out. Check-in was friendly and fast, and throughout my stay they offered genuine local tips—best coffee, even where to catch the sunset. It’s clear they care about their guests’ experience, not just the transaction. If you’re heading to northeast Oregon and want clean rooms, stellar service, and a great base for adventure, book the Ponderosa Motel. I’ll absolutely stay again.

The only hiccup was the Wi-Fi, which was spotty at times. In fairness, the front desk explained it was an ISP outage affecting the whole area, not their equipment. They even tried rebooting their system to help. When that’s the lone downside—and it’s outside their control—you know you’ve found a solid place.

The Ponderosa is a gem of a hotel! The front desk staff are more like hosts, so very friendly and helpful. While it's an older hotel, the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable and the soundproofing is very good. I loved being able to drive right up to my room. It's a friendly hotel and we enjoyed sitting in front of our room and visiting with other travelers. Enterprise is a quaint little town and the hotel is in the middle so easy to walk to restaurants.

The room was very clean and smelled nice. The staff was very nice. We stayed 2 days and was told up front that the staff would not mess with the room but if we needed anything just ask. They did just that. The breakfast was mostly pastries which was okay for us. The a/c felt nice. The bed was just a little uncomfortable but that could be because nothing is ever like home.

The location and rooms were simple and well appointed. Enjoyed having a table. Staff were friendly.

We were unable to secure a ground floor unit and the stairs made it very difficult to enter and leave our unit. We thought the breakfast was a little limited but probably ok for grab and go travelers.

It was a clean, quiet environment. The fridge and microwave in the room were super handy, and the staff was always friendly. The room was super clean, and comfortable. It was an easy to find location, and even though it was a crowded weekend I didn't hear any other patrons during the stay.

There wasn't much of a view, but I don't expect that from a motel. I was really happy with my stay.

Large room, liked location. It was quiet. I liked that it didn't have duvets but a top sheet, blanket and bedspread. 97 the first day. Good air conditioner but hate running it on high all night so lighter bedding was great.

The room had a table but no chairs to sit at it. There was one large upholstered chair.

We absolutely loved the location! My 2 little ones and my boyfriend stayed for the 4th of July and it was perfect for us. Bathroom and the room were spotless.

We did have to hear people walking above us but nothing too bad especially when you are tired! Walls are alittle thin as well, could hear others open and close doors.

From the moment I arrived, I was treated like royalty. I was even changed into a room that was far easier for me to access. The room was clean, well appointed, quiet, and very comfortable. I was given excellent travel advice and offered options, depending on my interests.

As far as I’m concerned, the place was great!

We did not eat breakfast. We were not told anything about it. We brought our own food and used the mini fridge. Beds were comfy and clean. Shower was spotless and the shower curtain did NOT smell sour, like most motels. Rooms were quiet, well accessorized, and comfortable for 2 people

The staff person who checked us in was 'cool'; no smile, no welcome, no Thanks or 'let us know if you need anything'. She was very adamant about the extra charges if we smoked or had animals in the room. We did neither of those things. I don't know if she was having a bad day, hates her job or just dislikes People in general. Fortunately, the room was fine and we did not need to interact with her again

Need new showerheads. Should consider charging for dogs based on size. We had 2 small doxies who are so good, we pick up their poop and everyone lovesi them. Should maybe be $20 a night for both instead of $20 each per night. Big dogs, yes
