This is my second visit to Bhutan and my second stay at Kisa Villa. It is located close to Ludrong Memorial Gardens, about 1.5km from the centre of Thimphu - an easy walk or even easier taxi ride in and out of town. The view from my bedroom was of beautiful Bhutan mountains, birdlife and grand nearby public buildings. The rooms are spacious, warm and cleaned daily. The staff are attentive and keen to assist with any needs - the type of personal attention that is hard to find at the larger commercial hotels in town. The meals are modest and need to be booked an hour or so beforehand, but I tried a variety of Bhutanese vegetarian dishes and all were tasty and large serves.

As in many other places in Bhutan, the electronic credit card payment machine is not always reliable. Check your rate before your stay and make things easier by settling your bill in cash.

An excellent property which was a traditional Bhutanese house converted to a small hotel and has the warm and cozy feeling of a home away from home. Excellent traditional architecture and wooden rooms made it really warm for us when it was sub zero temperature outside. They provided us with all the facilities and the staff went beyond our expectations to make our stay comfortable. The heaters in the room and bathroom worked really well. Located right behind the main Thimphu Dzong at a quaint location. A special thanks to the owner Mr. Norbu and the manager Mr. Pema to the chef Mr. Nado who made traditional dishes with less spice as per our request l. Overall a must stay property at Thimphu. Our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sonam and Ms. Chuki too. Thank you :-)

Not a single thing.

It felt like I was visiting a close friend or a relative. The staff as well as the owner Mr Ugyen were exceptional hosts - extremely helpful, and polite which made our stay a wonderful experience. Right from great recommendations for food, places to visit, as well as for the very pleasant conversations with the owner during the cold Thimpu evenings - this trip will always be memorable. I rarely write recommendations, but this place and the people definitely deserve it. I wouldn't hesitate even for a second to book Kisa Villa again if I ever get a chance to visit thimpu again.

Nothing to dislike really. The bed was comfortable. The room well heated. Breakfast modest but good enough, just as you would have at home. The bathroom was big, neat and clean with shower gel and shampoo at hand. Fresh towels provided after the second day.

The TV didn't work, if I had to point to something. The location isn't central but that's not a problem if you have a hire car because it's barely a few kilometres from the city centre.

Staff Pema & Karma were very warm, friendly, polite & cooperative, the owner himself was very approachable & attentive to clients needs. room was spacious & has all one needs to stay comfortably, all in all it was a memorable stay,

one might feel it’s a bit away from the centre but the beauty of the property makes it up, breakfast can be very much served in the room, but the first day of my stay, I was told I needed to come down to have it, which was little surprising since this request has been always entertained by almost all hotels wherever I stayed, but on the second day, I was served in my room which was good

Kisa Villa has a great staff, some nice style touches, tasty food, faces the Thimphu Dzong, Assembly and the mountains and is overall a great place to stay. To wake up to that view every morning is just awesome and to walk by the river and the Dzong is also great The owner Mr. Norbu and his staff are just outstanding even by the very highly helpful Bhutanese people standards. So much so that we canceled our much pricier hotel and decided to spend 2 additional Thimphu days in Kisa Villa while on our return leg to Paro. The food is also unexpectedly good and sumptuous. Even the garden looked great while flowers starting to bloom

The garden can be much better maintained. The view towards National Assembly has taken a hit because of some haphazard shanties that have come up. The view towards Dzong and the mountains is great though. There are dogs barking at night in the adjacent street which can be a problem for light sleepers. It can be a bit difficult to find since there is another Kisa hotel in the town. Also it's walkable bt slightly far from the Thimphu main town. Would cost 150 Nu to reach the town or 20 mins walking

The hotel rooms had beautiful views of the mountains, the rooms were spacious. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and always smiling. During the entire stay the food cooked was exceptionally tasty and of very good quality. The chef used to prepare delicious Indian dinner daily and the costs were very affordable too.

EVerything was great.

Amazing place to stay in Thimpu. Have a great view of Bhutan Parliament and King's Fort. Food options are great at reasonable prices. Food quality is amazing. Rooms are very neatly maintained and the Hotel staff and the host are very nice people. Bathrooms as well as the Beds in the rooms are neatly maintained. Awesome place to stay as you no need to worry about the stay and food.

Everything seems very nice and positive environment.

Kisa Villa is a fantastic place to stay. The Owner was very helpful, hospitable and a very good host. Even before we arrived there he helped us to connect with a guide who in turn helped us to arrange for a bus. The room rates are reasonable for the value they offer. The rooms were spacious and all had heaters. Extra heaters were provided on request. The Villa is very tastefully done up and the view from the Villa is super. The food was good and priced reasonably. We had most of our breakfast and dinner meals at Kisa Villa. Even though we were a large group the service was pretty quick. Local dishes were available and prepared well.

There is some disconnect between the room capacity information on "Booking.com" website and what Kisa Villa means to offer. This needs to be corrected by Booking.com team

Located next to the parliament and the royal palace, this is a nice place to stay in Thimphu. It is not located in the center though and so it may not suit everyone's needs. It is quiet and the staff cares about the clients. Rooms are large, comfortable and some have kitchens. The WiFi can be slow in the evening.
