Love the staff here. Very friendly and eager to assist in any way to make your visit more comfortable. Our room was clean with standard microwave and refrigerator. We had plenty of towels. Free breakfast with coffee and tea offered in the mornings. Room doors open to the outside, but we felt very safe here. There are train tracks nearby and they have four to five trains come through here daily. The train horns did not keep us from sleeping soundly. If a train came through after I went to sleep I didn't hear it. Ear plugs are provided at the front desk when you check in. We didn't need them. If visiting this town in the future I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Didn't try the breakfast. We've stayed at this property a couple of times before, but the operator had spent a lot of effort at excellent upgrading and decorating. The rooms were amazingly good, clean and livable, with new paint and carpets and furniture. We congratulated the owner/operator/manager man who had done the work as we checked out. We would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to other people wishing to explore the Caliente area, and plan to certainly use this hotel next time our road-trips take us through the county.

We like EVERYTHING about the hotel. We just a little disappointed that the old railway station building had not yet competed its renovation (not under the control of the hotel!), but when its completed and opened, we will be back to celebrate and stay at this hotel again!

It's great that the shady offers coffee and breakfast snacks... cereal bars, yogurt, oatmeal... It's not a full on continental breakfast, but gives you a little something to snack on. The coffee cart down the street is also very good. The staff is friendly and it's been updated so the rooms don't feel old and outdated. This is actually my second time staying here and it's a nice, affordable accommodation to have as base camp for exploring Lincoln County.

The Shady is a nice, clean motel property. It's not a luxury hotel. I didn't really NOT like anything, it definitely met expectations. The Shady's across the street from the train depot, so you CAN hear the train, but the front desk also provides earplugs if you're bothered by the train noise.

Nice spacious refurbished room with fridge and microwave, coffee and 🧊 .available .Everything was very clean Limited breakfast included in price. Very well situated to visited the 3 beautiful state parks close by. The motel itself was very quiet.

The train passing at least once during the night and horning several times at the railroad crossing. Only during the week probably , the dozens of trucks leaving early in the morning from the parking lot.

Great value. Very clean roadside motel. Well stocked with towels, the beds and pillows were comfortable enough. The employee was friendly when we checked in. I absolutely would stay here again.

The employee that checked us in knew we were leaving before 6am because we were asking about where we could get coffee. He did not mention anything about what to do with our key since the office doesn’t open until 6am or later, and we were surprised to find there was no drop box or sign on the door telling us what to do. There were two other guests that came up at the same time and were also surprised that there was no direction for checking out.

It was extremely clean! Staff were excellent and helpful. It is a very nice looking property. Has a nice area if you have a dog.

The air conditioner was extremely loud. If you did not need to use AC the stay would have been perfect. They have free earplugs in the office, but the AC unit was so loud they didn’t help.

Nice little motel - the pictures actually don't do it justice. It's in a small town but is conveniently located to state parks and natural areas. The person at check in was super nice. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Some people complained about the noise from the trains across the street - we did not find the trains to be an issue at all.

Breakfast was grab and go, nothing bad but nothing fancy. No other complaints!

The price was very affordable and we were surprised that the room was spacious, Even the guest trashcans on each level showed somebody was paying attention to the fine details.

Would have liked a bigger gift shop. We weren't really told there were ice machines or the little extras like the doggie area, or the available barbeque grill on the premises. Also when we checked in it was difficult for them to find our reservation but I did come with a printed copy and things worked out fine.

The room was large and comfortable. Overall a quiet location. Able to park close to the room. Feeling comfortable to walk barefoot in the room.

The only complaint was the train blasting it's whistle on the way by, but there are complimentary ear plugs at check in.

The room is a good size with wood floors throughout. It is also pet friendly. If you have a lot of luggage, request a downstairs room because you can park right in front of your room. The second floor is only accessible by stairs. Other than the occasional train going through town or a noisy semi truck, it is quiet. The motel is located within walking distance of the main eatery, Side Track Restaurant. We ate there 3 times and each time was excellent. Also the queen bed was comfortable.
